At that time he had a great range. but that in it self doesn`t make it a pleasent listen. It`s also thru that his voice has character (you can tell it`s him) , still not a pleasent listen. Never given me the chills, and in my mind overrated as a singer. His bass singing is fine though.

Not a crap singer... but though I like Axl's singing, it comes as a shock when it begins. It's not the same, and we're all okay with that, it isn't meant to be... but yeah, it's a shock. His singing is incredibly recognizable, as soon as you hear it, you know it's Axl. He is one of a kind, and there will never, ever be another performer/singer like Axl. Personally, I think he was the perfect choice to sing this song. For me, Axl and Freddie are the greatest Rock N' Roll frontmen of all time.
