  • This is one of my favorrite movies.

  • Just as an aside, add the conductor: Danny Troob

  • nice! this reminds me so much of the version on vhs.

  • You know... I actually would be terrified to go on a ride like this. Jasmine is super brave. Props :p

  • are this like other voices??

  • lol aladdin is like god or something through his personality

  • brings tears to my eyes

  • Thanks, I always thought the songs sounded different from my childhood.

  • even tho aladdin is a disney character i think hes HOT! and at 0:22 that is the best disney face on aladdin ive ever seen!

  • I can't hit the like button more than once. But if I could, this vid would have hundreds of likes.

  • Hey! Thanks! I didn't knew that they were so young.. And yes indeed, their other voices sounds too mature for them. Thanks a lot for letting me know this, though it seem to be too late to know this..

  • Yay! I'm not the only one who was going "....Why is the song different?!" ...I'm glad I'm not TOO crazy.............

    Thanks XD.

  • @ :22 seconds into the song....BEST DISNEY FACE EVER MADE i love aladdin the best for his face

  • Brad's voice is sooo sexy! XD Aladdin too! LOL

  • i have to agree aswell this version is the correct one! all the others are too high

  • when did YOU last let your heart decide?

  • @WhoaJ30 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I cannot agree with you more. And I do indeed like this version much, much more.

  • I love this song!

  • Love, love, love this song! You're so right with the vocals being off in some other versions, I'm glad someone else noticed!!! :) Thanks for posting this!!!

  • thank you for posting that its amazing! Just like the movie

    Tippiie

  • Omg the ending! Mulan quick! Look at the palace roof!

  • LMAO!!!

  • lol~~ it's a traditional chinese building XD. disney didn't invent those just for mulan

  • yea but hey alladin is in disney and so is mulan any how its more of a traditional chinese palace or temple

  • i notice it. Jasmines vocals are wayy lower. i was singing this song, with another video. i was like nooo wayy it can be this high.

  • Is this the one from the actual movie?

  • Yes, it is.

  • See, it sounded a lot more familiar than I thought. I love this version though. :] Thank you for putting it up.

  • i love this song

  • That's the music I know. :)

  • you're right, the one that made it in the movie was sharper than the one in the recording session video.

  • This is actually straight from the movie, taken from the region 1 DVD. I've been told it's the region 2 DVDs (like the UK version) that have this sharper pitch.

  • i dont see any difference.

  • That's because there is no difference to see! The difference is to hear!

I believe the video submitted by incubusfanclm has the higher pitch that seems to be present on the UK version (or any region 2 DVD, I don't know). You can play them at the same time at low volume and then adjust the volume of one of them from high to mute. The higher pitch doesn't totally ruin the song or anything, but it's bad enough to where you don't like it as much.

  • you're right!

and thank god i found this video

    the other video was awful..

  • It's not final since there's no official word about it. The best we get is a comment in a "making of" documentary that says they made him 17/18. So, 19 is still too old.

Personally, as long as it's meant to be canon, I count it as such. I mean, why not? It's just a movie, not like it really matters. Having more source materials allows more discussion of my favorite fandom. ^^

  • i aboustly adoreee this songg xx

  • Love Love Love Love Loveeee This Song .. Sad As It Sounds But ii Do !

  • Yes! A video with the correct pitch! That's rare.

  • Aladdin was my favorite when i was vey little, the same time Ms. Lea was my vocal hero (both are still unbeatable)...:)

    this brings back good memories!

  • wow jasmines voice is 10 times better then aladdin's

  • oh yes, much much better!

  • wheres a good place to download this song and put it on my mp3?

  • The movie version or the soundtrack version?

  • either, i just really want it. i love it.

  • this song brings back memories XD

  • like to watch disney

  • lol i want a guy like Aladdin

  • Aladdn's age can be debated depending on whether you consider the T.V. series to be canon and whether the story exists in a floating timeline, but Jasmine's age has been confirmed to be 16 in both official Disney books and the original script.

  • wow i lov this s ong

memories in band for this too lol

  • oh,i luv this song it is 1 of my favorites & i like Aladdin & jasmine they r a cute couple

  • i heard oth aswell i like this 1 so much better this is the one i grew up with

i remember this was my fav movie wen i was younger

its still 1 of my favs

i remember wen i roke my arm and my mom played this

movie 2 help me feel better

  • awesome, i like this one better, good pitch

  • LOV THIS SONG

  • jasmine and aurora are my favourite princesses:D:D:D

  • ah, I was looking for this and I found all these annoying Polish and Danish versions.

    I love this.

  • I have heard both versions. They're really good, especially female vocals! Next time give some more afford and try to LISTEN instead of UNDERSTAND the exact lyrics! Stop being ignorant, not everyone speaks English. Besides some foreign versions of songs in Disney movies are much much better sang than in original, check out the polish version of Pocahontas!

  • I actually did hear the other versions. Yes, the voices were pretty. Maybe even better than the ones in this version, but I can't enjoy it if I can't understand it. I understand that not everyone speaks English and I'm not saying I wish different Languages never existed, but I DO speak English. And I want to hear it in English.

I have a few songs by some artist that sings in Brazilian Portuguese, and I can't understand anything. But I still love it. All I'm saying is that I was looking for this.

  • I may be 12 years old, but,i love this song to bits, its so romantic and cute, and, well,i just love it!:)

  • Thank you for uploading!!! 1st. Disney movie I ever watch when i was a kid

  • this is the origianl and the best version!!!! thanks soooooo much 4 uploading!

  • I noticed the audio desync as well. It's a slight, slight bother, but nothing that takes down the quality.

  • thank u for having the correct pitch because im planning on singing this for my school's talent show

  • Comment removed

  • yay the original song!! i love this song!!

  • This is one of my favorit movie and song from disney. So thank you truely

  • 2:01 to 2:04 is the scenery of Hercules!! lol

  • i can ply this song on keybord

  • I will NEVER get over the harmony in this song. Gawwd, it drives me nuts because it's so beautiful! Lol. =]

  • i enjoy your version the most.

    it seems waaaay more accurate.

    i love lea solonga. :D

  • beautiful song

  • I lovee Brad Kanes voice in this movie. Itss so nicee:)

  • I love this song so much.

  • Nice, I like the pitch in this version too. But I had a question. When you edited this, did you just merely change the pitch or did you lay the CD version vocals over the movie sound effects?

I'm guessing the former because it doesn't have the pacing of the CD vocals. Either way, I think it's still great. I just like the CD version vocals a little better. I like how the "take you wonder by wonder" line in the CD version has more a little more emphasis on the "w" sound in the second "wonder"

    ;)

  • Neither. This was ripped straight from the Region 1 DVD. No editing.

I agree, the CD version is much better.

  • I am glad you posted this, but I want to correct you on the ages. Jasmine is about to turn 18 in the movie. Its part of the plot actually. I am assuming Aladdin to be around the same age (17/18).

Just wanted to let you know. But thank you for adding this, its really good!

  • In an older version of the script, they say she's turning 16. In the TV series, Aladdin says in an episode that he is 17. This episode occurs after the episode with Al and Jas's anniversary of their first date, which means he would have been 15-16 in the movie. Since Al is probably older than Jasmine, he was most likely 16 in the movie while Jasmine was about to turn 16.

  • It's possible that Aladdin exists in a floating timeline, however. That would make Aladdn 17 in the movie. But the script still said Jasmine was turning 16.

  • I don't really like this pitch... it's too low.

  • Well...these are their real voices. :D

  • Y'know, it's funny really, me saying that I don't like the pitch. 'Cause last time I commented on here (I was called Tidusgirlamy) I said that I was hoping it was the UK version.

  • i love this song and aladin and jasmine lol i love alllllllllllllllllllll

  • much better!

  • His name is brad kane

  • Indeed, it is.

  • How could that be the temple in Mulan? Aladdin was released 6 years before Mulan..... Aladdin released in 1992 while Mulan is 1998

  • A lot of movies are in production at the same time as others, even if one comes out before the other, the animators might know about the other movie and add some bits from it.

  • At which part? Because there's the temple of Zeus from Hercules at one point in the end, when they go past the statue of Cupid with the arrow. But I saw nothing that looked remotely Chinese. Well, except for the dragon part after this song.

  • I wasn't saying there was, I' just saying it's not impossible just because this came out before Mulan.

  • well then the temple from aladdin is on mulan

    0.o

  • i agree on what you were saying.......caled kane's voice won me over too i love watching the recording session because you can see his facial expressiond and the way that makes the song sound!

  • disney is so cool but now that i look at the video no only are there scenes from mulan but also hercules

  • LOL. I Haven't seen this movie in so long. And Yes I Think It is the Mulan Temple at the End. Isn't it Awesome how The People at Disney Combined Them?

  • I might be wrong, but isnt the setting in the very last scene the temple from Mulan? *is probably wrong*

  • I think so. It is the forbidden city

  • "it's all so magical." :)

  • I've been looking all over YouTube for a version that wasn't cut-off at the end, messed up in quality, or had the song replaced by the soundtrack version (which I don't like as much as the original.) Thank you so so much!!

  • they both sound amazing!!

i just finished watching Lea Solanga's newest concert, and she sounded exactly the same as she did a couple years ago when she recorded this!.too bad Caleb Kane wasn't there!

  • It's crazy thinking about how long it's been. But Aladdin came out in 1992 so it's been more than a couple of years :)

  • WHAT??? What are you all talking about? Isn't this the same version with a slower tempo??

  • Nope. You can listen to both at the exact same time. The tempo is the same. The pitch is different.

  • It's all so magical :D Yeah ! I love this sogn soo much >..sigh :)

  • I looked this song up on YouTube and thought "ugh...it sounded so much better in my memory!" But phew, it really WAS this good! Thanks for the better version ^__^ Even though the video is sitting on a shelf right behind me haha XD

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're right! This is MUCH better!

  • You are so right. I've noticed the difference in pitch as well, and it's not nearly the same. Thanks for uploading this! (I was able to show a friend the correct pitch version, because I could only find ones with off-pitch before and it sounded wrong even to me!)

    Thanks again!

  • They re-recorded this song for the soundtrack, using the same singers

  • Of course they did. Why do you mention it?

  • I mentioned it because I like the CD version much better. It sounds much more magical and loving, IMO, especially since it has the same singers from the movie version!

  • Well, I think both versions are really good, but there are some instances in the movie version that don't sound as good as the CD. For example, in the movie version, Brad seems to stumble or something over the beginning of "shining." Or maybe it's just bad editing. Either way, it annoys me every time I hear it.

  • I have this verison! I never knew that was Caleb Kane...(I feel like an idiot) But I love Disney and Caleb's voice is really good for the the character. Disney is timeless, thanks for posting. ^_^_^

  • uhhmmm i thought his name was brad kane

  • It is, but he goes by Caleb now (you can listen to some of his songs on YouTube). I don't know if he wants to be called Brad in relation to Aladdin or not, but I've been in the habit of calling him Caleb for several years now.

  • i hear the difference! :O

  • ha ha me 2 :D

    it sounds better

  • This song won the 1992 Oscard for Best Original Song. So beautiful!

  • Umm... I don't get it. I hear the same thing in all the videos... where are the others high pitched? =/

  • There are some others that have the correct pitch as well now (and others before mine that for some reason never came up when I searched for them). If you listen to the one uploaded by incubusfanclm and play it at the same time as this video while adjusting the volume of one or the other, you'll hear the difference. Many other "A Whole New World" clips have this pitch difference as well.

  • Is this the UK version? Please tell me it is! Aladdin sounds SOOO much better in this!

  • No, this is taken from the U.S. DVD. I've been informed that the UK version is the one that's sped up and thus higher in pitch.

  • Oh, that also sounds cool

  • [continued]

this means that if there's a song, you'll hear it nearly a semitone higher than the original. but we have the cd version to appreciate the original version.

i'm italian and our dubbed soundtrack is "slow" as the original and if you listen the song in the dvd it is faster even in italian. so it's a problem of all europe, and it's not even a dubbing problem.

    hope you undersood :D

  • pity here in europe we have to speed up films due to the conversion from NTFS and PAL. In fact NTFS uses 24 frames per second, while PAL 25. so we - and our tv, vhs, dvd... - read 25 frames per second and the audio must be a bit sped up to fit the video.

    [continue]

  • oo c bo tro bel jasmine

  • even today, millions of people throughout Europe use the wrong-pitch version and force children into believing it's the only right pitch and the one they have to comply with. Disgusting! I really thank you for posting this one.

  • thanks ever so much for putting it on-line. Since so many people had a hard time believing me when I tried to tell them there was difference between the UK version and the U.S. version, I can now prove it to them

  • You're so right about what youtube doing with the uploaded videos... Some of them are tottaly different than the original. I uploaded a video.. but the man's voice (who was talking in it) became girly.. so I had to remove the video.

And how bad that most of the other people didn't realise this.. It's so annoying.

    Thanks for this version, anyway!

  • I am pretty sure that that name of the guy who sings Aladdin's part is named Brad Kane. Well actually to be more correct when he sung this song his name was "Brad Kane", but now he goes by his middle name Caleb. Sorry for the confusion.

  • Yeah, I'm just in the habit of calling him Caleb now. It gets confusing when using both names when referring to different parts of his singing career, so I just stick with the name he goes by now.

  • No, this was taken straight from the DVD which sounds just like the VHS except greatly enhanced. I'm still baffled as to why all the other clips here are higher-pitched.

  • I can explain that. People might've taken this scene from Aladdin DVDs from other regions of the world, in which American movies imported to foreign countries play 4% faster. That's why it's higher pitched. I don't like it at all, either.

  • i agree that caleb has the warmth in his voice but gosh, le salonga's voice, soaring and almost bittersweet, is the best part of this song! just listen to her "world" the first time she sings it. and the "endless diamond sky" part! love it!

  • Lea's definitely a better singer than Caleb. I like the way she sings the end (especially compared to the foregin versions). However, I don't think her voice is as unique as Caleb's. After all, most people don't even notice that Jasmine's singing voice is different in the sequels.

  • I find Caleb's vocal timbre highly unique, and Out of Thin Air is a prime example of such softness and depth. Lea is a better singer technically, but she doesn't sound special in any way, at least not to me.

  • :) I used to watch this movie at least 3 times a week when I was young hehe Good memories, thanks for sharing~
