if the abortion amendment is what makes this woman decide to not support it then she doesn't care about healthcare reform in the first place. i'm pro choice but people are dying because they can't get healthcare and she's going to base her decision on the fact that this bill won't pay for abortions. thats the dumbest thing i ever heard.women can controll wether or not they get pregnant but a sick person has no control over being sick and that amendment shoudn't make or break the argument.
I think at this point, where they're both dictating what the law is, what laws are written, or evading it entirely, they're no longer working within the system, and do in fact, go above the law. Unless you're attempting to use a rather Horror Movie-esque kind of "Inside the law", like the Alien bursting out of the law's stomach, and then looking around and growling at everyone around it.
Well the Stupak amendment goes hand in hand with the public option, sort of, right? Without the public option it should go away. I'd rather both stay in reconciliation, than both go away, but I've lost a lot of hope lately.
For the insurance bill, I'm a 10. I mean, could Obama have fucked us any worse? He made this the worst it could possibly be and still pass.
I knew he was a corporate whore in general, but I didn't know he was going to flip flop on the mandate. I didn't realize just what douche bag he was. He even surprised the cynic.
well there is a chance that congress will make things better and thats what i am hoping for and yes i agree fuck obama still better then mccain sadly but thats not saying a lot
well last i heard they had the bill blocked and if its a no on the bill or if they just deside to trash it then they can and i still believe there is hope for at least something semi good but its extremely slim
Obama pushed for the bill with all he had, then put conservatives in charge of it and pushed the Democrats to drop everything "controversial". There's no one with more responsibility for what's in it than his responsibility.
He is just far too willing to compromise. He works with the other side, which is just fine just so long as the other side is not trying to work against you.
The other side is working against him, every step of the way. Even his own side are working against him.
No, he's not willing to compromise. Time and again he's pushed the right wing agenda. Every time, without fail, and he refuses to compromise towards the left.
My 30 seconds is my fucking 30 seconds. Fuck you and your fucking advert.

It is all compromise, compromise, compromise.
The Republicans, when they were in charge NEVER compromised. They rammed stuff through.

To Conservatives - The government isn't taking too much power, the private sector has enough power to go above the law.

Go above the law?
More like go INSIDE the law and take what they want.

Congress wrote the bill. Obama just didn't push for anything.
