  • Great job man !!!.

  • @SousaSiddo Thanks.

  • You cant' hear me but I am applauding.....Sounds great! This shows you can do anything on a Ric! I wish people would understand this. Ric is the perfect guitar, the finish, the way it plays... nothing like it!

  • Very nice, soulful playing. Keep it up!

  • ちょっとミュートした時の籠った音がたまらない

    右手での弦の押さえ方によって色んな表情を出せてる

  • allthough this guitar is beautiful i would only use it to play chords and arpeggios

  • Sweet Blues on a Red Ax. I never had the opportunity to play a Rickenbacker, I play a 335 Gibson, and price is subjective, as a Mosrite, a Gibson, a Fender, etc is just as expensive when you get into vintage. I wish I could find an album where any of the "known" play about 5 different instruments, same settings thru a Marshall or Vox or Fender amp, and really hear how the difference makes the music. It is well over 75%, imho, the musician, many of which can take a tin can and dial up a symphony.

  • Very awesome playing, I also play a Rickenbacker and these guitars are really different then people would expect they can do anything!!

  • @rickoreverb344 Thanks. They are really nice and versatile guitars. Although I DO like the typical Rick music, I also like it when I find out they were used in other styles.

  • I get very irritated when people say that Rickenbackers aren't versatile, and you have just showed them that that is not true! :D

  • @Criddington Thanks. My mission is slowly working!

  • @Criddington The point is they shouldn't be versatlie. There's no point going shopping for furniture in a sports car. The Ricky sound is perfect for a certain kind of playing. To hear this middle of the road white man office worker blues on such a unique and classic instrument breaks my heart. You can play this muck on anything.

  • Hubert Sumlin played a Rickenbacker 360 for awhile. I could never quite get what I wanted out of one, though I did play a Rickenbacker 481 in a Pop/Punk band for awhile. I think you play quite well, and I've jammed with Ry Cooder, Joe Louis Walker, Alvin Youngblood Hart, David Lindley and Brownie McGee.

  • @chandramaofficial Thanks, I appreciate the insight. I like your videos.

  • @6bender Thanks, we're doing a video of 'Sweet Emotion' soon, and more Beatle covers too. Using different guitars can be really inspiring. One of the best on-stage sounds I ever got was an Eko Kadet into an Orange 80watt amp. Those microphonic pickups were amazing. I could hear my thumb squeak on the back of the neck through that Orange. LOL. Had to stand across the far end of the stage facing away from the amp not to squeal all through the set, but it was worth it.

  • Was there any particular reason you chose to buy a RIckie? For what that costs, you could have bought most anything? It's a great guitar (I used to have one and regret selling it), and yours is beautiful, but with all the choices out there today, I'm curious. If you don't mind.

  • @pushya1008 Well one reason was that over the years I've had just about every type of electric guitar. Most of them, of course, from the "big two". I always liked Ricks and think they are a very well made guitar and unique in tone and style. Even though I am a big fan of Strats, I generally don't feel the need to just play what everyone else plays. A friend of mine owned a Rick and he kept raving about it so I thought I would give it a go. Wonderful guitars.

  • Really nice. I really enjoy your playing, and the guitar sounds great. Produces really nice blues tone, especially for a solid state amp. You may be critiquing yourself, but there are 1000's of people who wish they could play half as well as you. Thanks for the post!

  • @pushya1008 Thank you, I'm humbled. I like to think I'm getting better with time. I'll try to do more videos whenever I can figure out how to get better audio without spending any money ;-)

  • You warmed up nicely there mate. Cookin by the end. Obviously nice guitar ....but of course the amp is another jigsaw pce of this equation.....what kind are you using ?

Effects at all ? ....Thanks in advance for your answer ....actually , thats rude - i will thank you if you do answer -WELL DONE !

  • @TheMichaelseymour Thanks! I'm actually using a Tech 21 Trademark 60 solid state amp here. No effects. The amp functions well enough but the Rick definitely deserves a nice tube amp along the Vox or Fender Deluxe Reverb lines.

  • @6bender Thanks for a reply ...wow ..gettin a good tone with a solid state amp ! Were you interested in any other ricks besides this model ? ....well done sir.

  • your right. you are a shitty bluesman. haha. just playing. you give yourself less credit than what's due. but how does a rickenbacker compare weight wise to a gibson sg or a fender strat or tele? I'm not too familiar with Rickenbacker but I would I'm considering getting one just because of how sweet of a tone they have.

  • @JacobHilbrich Thanks....I think :-). It's actually a fairly lightweight guitar. The 360/370 model is especially comfortable to play.

  • Never dreamed of a Rick as a blues axe...thanks for putting me straight! Nice chops!

  • Really nice guitar. Where do you get your soundtracks or do you make them?

  • @johnnynocaster Although I do make some of my own, this particular track is here on youtube. There are lots of them. Just search "guitar backing tracks"

  • I really like the sound you came out with. Didn't think you could get so bluesy with a 330. I have a 650 that is great to play blues with but you have outdone me with your 330!

  • @DJPeteJames Basically, any Ric lover will tell you to listen to the early Beatles and Byrds albums. I'll tell you this: Try one out. They all have the jangle, but most players use a compressor to emphasize that (Beatles and Byrds always did). Then there are the more daring Ric players, such as Peter Buck, who can jangle, play solos, play E-bow, and other things besides just play rhythm. Listen to the Byrds Eight Miles High to see what you can really do with a Ric, too.

  • That was really good bloke, thanks for posting!

  • Just curious what finish that is -- is that Fireglow? Looks less red than most. Absolutely gorgeous!

  • @mukkawugga Yes, it's fireglo. I think newer models are slightly less red. I always though this particular one had a nice gradation.

  • Great playing and tone, congrats! Also, I am supporter of Ricks for more than jangle/indie, I recently posted a video trying my 330 for some jazzy feel, I found it very warm, responsive and overall, great for it. I had/have the other "G' brands but the 330 I have is at par if not superior in overall quality/sound

  • @dashoos2006 I checked out your video. Very nice! Thanks for spreading the word.

  • what a nice refreshing tone to represent for the Rickenbacker ..that's not often done..yoo've shown it can be..thanks

  • @gretschsounds Thanks. They're too nice of guitars to be typecast!

  • Great sound and playing, very clever tone, it seems to me that they might be a bit pricey for a stand alone blues guitar. The ones I've seen make me think you could buy a strat, tele, or lower end LP/SG as well as a blues JR and a tubescreamer or two all for the same price. But if you're going to fork it over for a 335 anyway I'd say a Ric would be cool change of pace with great blues tone like you demonstrated here. My pennies, Cheers for the post!

  • @SupairDup I wouldn't suggest anyone buy a Rick if they are going to play strictly blues. Of course there are cheaper alternatives to any guitar. I just wanted to show they aren't just jangle guitars and that they're just nice all around guitars. Quality-wise, I think they exceed Gibson for the money and are still a great value.

  • If I could do that I stay at home all day long and play. One of my life's mistakes I sold my Ric.... still cry about it. Love that guitar.

  • Love the thick sound you get out of that Rick! Also, nice, nice slow blues!

  • 6bender...you have restored my belief that Ricky's can be played for blues. Very well done!! I can not make any sense why Ricky's are never played for blues. Do you have a reason? By the way... I have a rare 1964 340S...it may be the only one ever built! I can't find anyone else who has one. If you'd like to see it...Google Rickenbacker 340S and you can check it out. Thanks for your fine video.

  • @sunking2001 Thank you. I guess they are just typecast as the jangle machines. Probably true for the 12-strings but the 6's are all around nice guitars. Most players don't dare to be different when it comes to gear. I'll definitely check out your 340.

  • awesome guitar!

  • Hell, that was so groovy ! You gave my day 2.38 minutes of great sound, cheers from Belgium : )

  • @Powapowago Glad you enjoyed it. I like being groovy :-)

  • Really tasty. You get so many YouTubers who are tying to be the next Yngwe Malmsteen. Lovely phrasing, and you leave room for it to breathe.

Droolworthy guitar, too, and like others have said, good to hear it take some bluesy lead lines.

  • @douglasgorney Thanks. I'm far from the best out there but I do like to mix it up.

  • the rickenbacker is one of my dream guitars

  • @TheGrerex They are pretty sweet :-)

  • very cool licks... nice playing...

but for blues I'm a Stratocaster man :P

  • why is your fretboard so shiny?

  • @FrothySpoons Rickenbacker applies the finish over the rosewood fingerboards. Crazy, I know, but it works OK.

  • well done man! and nice guitar!

  • @jamesDYL Thanks

  • Great job. Thanks for posting something other than REM or The Beatles. Very versatile guitar.

  • While bends aren't "easy" on a Rickenbacker, Rock & Blues are still quite achieveable. I love my Maple-Glo 360/6. Lovely clip, thanks!

  • Absolutely. Thanks!

  • hey man, sounds great, hows the action on rics? cause i played one that my friend has and it was really hard to play

  • If they're set up right, they play like a dream. Might take a while to get used to 'em though.

  • gotcha

  • beautiful playing!

  • Great playing and tone!!! What is the scale length on this RIC---and is it difficult to do string bends on these guitars?

  • Thank you. It's 24.75". Bends take a little practice mostly because of the smallish frets. Once you get used to it though, no problem. Thanks for viewing, I need to get busy and start posting again. There's a lot of Rick love out there!!

  • Thanks for your reply. I'm a Les Paul guy and I'm seriously considering first RIC... 360 that is.

  • Sounds great! This shows you can do anything on a Ric! I wish people would understand this. Ric is the perfect guitar, the finish, the way it plays... nothing like it!

  • These guitars are sturdy, man. I had a 330 that was in a fire. EVERYTHING in the room was gone, but the guitar just needed sanding down and it was fine! Sadly I pawned it when I was broke and lost it. Rickenbackers are harder to play blues on, but as we see here, it's well possible. Watching this makes me sad for my lost love..

  • They are sweet, misunderstood guitars. Sounds like you need to go shopping!!

  • What do you mean, man?? You're a damn fine blue player!!! I can't believe Ricks sound so good as a blue guitar too!! Always thought of them as a great rythym guitar but you proved me wrong.

  • how much this rickenbacker

  • how much was your ric im planning to buy one

  • If you shop at the better independent retailers you can find them under $2K

  • my strat is getting jealous!..

  • LOL, no need, Strats rock too!

  • nice!!!!

  • Ricks are way more versatile then most people think. Very nice playing too. :)

  • Thats beautiful mate!....feelin that vibe.

  • what model ric is that, is it a 360?

  • It's a 370. Basically a 360 with a third pickup.

  • nice job man it realy goes under the skin

  • I so enjoyed your video. I am deciding between a Rick 330, 360, 370 and a Gibson SG Standard right now. You may have convinced me the Rick could do things I wasn't sure it could ... of course with the help of a very good blues guitarist. Thanks

  • Thanks. If you wish to emulate classic blues tones you may be better off with the SG (although not too many people play blues on SG's either). If you want to create your own identity and be a little different you can't go wrong with a Rick.

  • I own an SG, a 330 and two 360's and I can tell you that the newer 330's are just amazing! I never use my SG anymore for the 330 does it all. There is nothing you can't play on it and it can deliver sounds that you just can't get out of any other guitar. Go to Vela75 and check out some of his 330 videos.

  • not the best bluesman? i would pay you for lessons! i can really hear the feeling in your playing. excellent!!

  • Thanks buddy, Makes me want to work that much harder.

  • i'm a reall classic blues and rock man and i love the sound of the rick 360/6 which it looks like u have. would you say its worth the big price

  • Definitely. Ricks are probably the best made guitars out there.

  • thanks man i already got like $750 saved up only like 1000 to go

  • NIce guitar

  • This sounds good, the combination of the high-gain pickups and the six string model. I have high-gains and a 12 string.

    Sounds good doing the blues.

  • i like this guitar

  • Thanks.

  • really a shinny guitar..

  • Rickenbacker does a nice finish.

  • woww!!

thats good a really good sound to it.

  • Thank you. I have a habit of trying to play blues on ANYthing.

  • Ugh, why did I sell my Rick!? Really good man! I gotta get myself another Rickenbacker whenever I can get enough scratch for one.

  • Nice sound!!

  • I've got a 620 model. I love jamming on the blues with it!

  • Sounds great man. Very clean and smooth. Great Job!

  • Thank you very much. I like your stuff too. Keep it up.

  • nice work great example of what a rickenbacker can do

  • Thank you. I encourage others to do the same.

  • good job man...really enjoyed it!

  • Thanks. Glad you liked it.

  • Hardly anybody does leads on a Ric, which is exactly why I want one

  • HAHA, dare to be different!! That's what I try, at least. Rock on!

  • that's what I want too ... my professor has a rickenbacker ... most people say "look at that guy with that strange guitar !!" it's funny hahaa

  • Nice work, you lost me for a few seconds around 1:30 but the rest was good.

  • Yeah, I do tend to get lost at times:-) Thanks.

  • Smoooooooooooooooooooth bluuuuuuuues, man you got style bro. Keep that shit up, we should jam. Peace

  • Rock on, man. Thanks. I'll keep that in mind if I get across the pond!

  • Yo man can you help me out? Im wonderin what kinda scalses you using in here...i see a little pentatonic and possible minor. Just need some tips for my playin, its getting dry. Check my vid, might not be your style but whatever, sharing is caring. Peace man

  • didnt know a rick could bust out the blues like that, and nice technique man, very smooth, i wish i was that smooth

  • Thanks. Keep at it man, smoothness comes with time, I guess.

  • (wow) great tone and playing,

is that with the Tech 21 trademark 60?

    thanks for the clip

  • Thanks. Yeah that's with the Tech 21. I figure I'd give it a try and it's been working pretty good for me.

  • man i love that guitar! never really fancied it as a blues machine but nonetheless, great tone out of that beaut!

  • Thank you. I like to think against covention, guitarwise.

  • Nice, sick guitar too!

  • Thanks. Gotta love a Ric!

  • I like it, I think you're really good. The sound of the guitar is awesome too.

  • I appreciate the feedback. Yeah, I think the Rick sounds pretty good as a blues machine. Throws something different, yet strangely familiar, into the mix.

  • nice one mate,i like this one too, sounds nice keep it up

  • Glad you like it. Thank you.

  • nice job

  • Thanks. I don't fancy myself a bluesman but I do what I can ;-)
