I'd heard speculation concerning the Templars having contact with Christian Ethiopia, but had never heard of Crusader links to Nubia. The Fifth and Seventh Crusades attacked Egypt and had they got further than the Delta then Christian allies in the south may have been useful. However Sudanese forces are more reguarly reported on the Saracen side, for example fighting for Saladin at the battle of Arsuf during the Third Crusade.

Ethiopia along with Armenia were the first two christian states. Christianity was in africa before any european country accepted it or before 99 percent of european countries new about it. Christianity in africa is very old. Orthodox christianity....

@TheeChronicle egypt was i beleive the first country to adopt christianity in africa...from the 1st century with St. Mark the evangailist ...definently egypt adopted christianity before ethiopia, ethiopia actually gets their bishops from the alexandrian church

whats wrong with this picture? Am I the only One that thinks that there is something wrong with the Nubians painting all those white faces? i hate to make this a race issue, but i just cant help it. did the Nubians of that time forget that the sybolism of Christianity were taken from their very own ancient folklores?

didn't nubians worship the same gods as the Egyptians? hmmm, they had black faces and bodies didn't they..right,right. but in htat picture, though Mary was light, Jesus was dark some of those other guys were Jesus just saints and angels.

yes, the ancient Nubians & Egyptians did worship some of the same gods. and later the Christians had a very similar idea of their god, and the story surrounding him. so why do you think these Nubians abandoned their ancient ways in favor of a Eurocentric interpretation? didn't they know where the idea originated? or does race not matter to them like it does to us Black Americans?

its hard for me to look at this video and not render a harsh purely biased opinion on the Crusades and Christianity and what that did to African religions and the African people for thousands of years.

Why dont you care about the Europeans that were converted to Christianity?Millions of Europeans were killed and the European religions throughout Europe were converted(I havent heard of one European religion that has survived).Christianity was created in Axium(Africa)I think that you should be more upset that a foreign semitic religion(Islam)tried to take over an African religion,Christianity.

@NubianSuperpower Nubia got Christianity from the Queen of Sheba who got it from Solomon. Also Jethro Moses father in law was from Cush and he took teh God of teh Isrealites back to his lands.

@Najahface what did the crusaders made in afrika? Nothing because in the time of the first crusade and I think in the second too, great areas of North Afrika wehre christian. For me it's cruel what the muslims did for 1500 years in Afrika. They killed minimum 10 Million black Afrikans.
