I miss the old CWC. This actuall Europa League sucks, bring back the old Uefa Cup and CWC,those competitions where very cool, and bring back the old formula of Champions League,just with the champions. The old Uefa competitions formula was very much fair,than the actual one,Champions League is just for the most reach teams,from the Spanish, English and Italian League, the old formula was very much fair and emotive,today uefa competitions are boring.

When you think of who they were up against too - Maier, Brietner, Backenbauer, etc. What a team Bayern were! And yet, Alex MacDonald, Willie Johnstone, and Derek Parlane et al, played a great team off the park.

It's over a generation ago since we had teams of quality who could perform well in Europe.Not just Rangers and Celtic. Aberdeen,Dundee,Dundee United,Dunfermline,Kilmarnock,­Hearts and Hibs have all had their moments.When you consider the current state of our game,it's hard to see that happening again.

I'll never forget this game as it was only my second ever Rangers game. I was standing with my father in the West Enclosure looking right along the eighteen yard line and had a perfect view of Jardine's "rocket. Well to a boy of seven it seemed like a rocket.
