And in 2010 it's less than 3 cents a minute depending on the long distance carrier you choose. And you can use a calling card that costs a penny a minute for the continental United States.
Of course this pertains to only the landline as we haven't even included the cellphone and VOIP.

Now we get unlimited calls within the US for a flat rate depending on your long distance carrier. Talk all u want!
