  • In 2011, Free

  • $0.70 in 1970 would be $3.82 today. So that's almost 127 times what we could pay now at $0.03 per minute on a traditional landline. And like others have said, we can get a flat rate per month for VoIP or cellular. Or even free with Google Voice. How times have changed!

  • Now we get unlimited calls within the US for a flat rate depending on your long distance carrier. Talk all u want!

  • And in 2010 it's less than 3 cents a minute depending on the long distance carrier you choose. And you can use a calling card that costs a penny a minute for the continental United States.

Of course this pertains to only the landline as we haven't even included the cellphone and VOIP.

  • Can someone help me? I don't know when the telephone was invented. When was it invented?

  • @Abominatrix650 Try wikipedia.

  • @Abominatrix650 the telephone was invented in 1876
