Really...thats weird. Because i was reading up on The making of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" video and she gave props to the JSU prancing J-settes for her mimicking their style. Come on now, CLEARLY the J-settes are more original and reknown when you have everyone calling their style of dancing "j-setting". The Dolls are ok but has been a bit boring over the years...Jsettes gives more entertainment and stunts\difficult moves on the field

um thanks for correcting me on my grammatics hun..and you are right! and you're right...they r classic but yet outdated. like those uniforms! u kno its a mess when u even refer to a danceline ensemble as uniforms. their entire look and style give me early 90's. Great group of dancers and beautiful ladies just would love to see them step outside the box and give that WOW factor. For example, instead of cute lets go with sexy! instead of classy, try sassy. and instead of being classic, go edgy..

I have watched many of their routines...and they are so commercial. Yea they can dance they just need a better choeographer...they have no swag if u know what I mean..maybe they need to add a little soul. but they r clean.
They have their own style. They aren't carbon copied like the rest of these dancelines. Oh believe they do have swag, a swag of their own. I think it's all just personal preference of who you like. Most people like the dolls or the Jsettes though. The people who like quality and originality.

Well I'm just a dancer for my high school marching band's dance team(dillard high).I mean i never took ballet classes etc., but i learned a great deal of technique from my previous captains who were very skilled because i do attend a performing arts school.However, besides 14K i think Southern is the best college dance team so far! they have technique, their beautiful, energetic, and they most def. have alot of class.

That's not true dont belive that rumor. Southern has had a number of dark girls dance for them. Brittany who was captain last year doesnt have long hair. So thats not really true.
Maybe that was cause you couldnt dance or you were ugly to her. D'Tara (a Dancing Doll this year) is as black as hell but she is beautiful and she can dance. You arent even that black, if that's you bent over on that pic. So maybe you couldn't dance that good or your ugly. I cant see your face but I saw your other face. You dont need to be a doll anyway cause that is classless
The dolls have always been small well toned girls with pretty hair. Now skin color thats just crazy. If you're talking about light and dark there have always been dark skin girls on the team, Always! And I'm tired of people thinking that the team is all light skin girls. It's Not! When there was only 6 dolls atleast 2 of them were were darker toned than the "expected". And now that there are 11 or 12 the team is very well "distributed".
The dolls are average dancers. They pick their dancers by the way they look( body type, hair length , and skin color) and not on dance experience.They are gorgeous but they are just okay.They'd rather pick pretty girls and teach them how to dance than to pick ladies with yrs. of dance training .Ive seen SU's basketbal squad the Gold n Bluez and I believe they have better technique than the dolls do and they are also nice lookin young ladies. The dolls need to step their game !

Let me just say that first off I've never met a "dummy doll" in my life you jealous hater. The head guidance counselor at my school was a dancing doll, and i know of another doll whom was a successful chemistry major. secondly let me say this was a fly routine and it had technical skill as well as a good hip hop feel.
man...all the squads have their own style. That's y they compete at games. To show off they're styled routine and win the crowd. Not to win everybody opinion and say well "they wear weave and they should be classy and wear this or wear that"...they r the ones who took the time to make up the routine so ppl like us can comment on shyt like this. It's people like you that have opinions that really don't amount to anything... Yes the dolls do only wear 2 haistyles & that is: wraps (curls sometimes) & buns. It compliments thier appearance as CLASS & ELEGANCE!! They don't get on the field swinging 30 inch weaves like the rest of the HBCU squads looking like strippers & shaking their ass as if they were in a men's bar (14k since you mentioned)
And as far as this routine... You can include many types of dance into one routine as long as it is together... And the dolls have never had an issue with togetherness so this routine was great. If you pay enough attention they always perform @ least one hip hop routine however still incorporating technique on a yearly basis. This year that routine would be "get it shawty". I would encourage you to think before you touch the keyboard next time sweetie.

I'm always watching this...I just like it. Though, I never really realized now good the Dancing Dolls are. Heck, better than those 14K dancers...and I don't even like dance lines, which is why I'm at FAMU...whoo-hoo it's all about Flag Corps! Anywho, the arrangement on this song is nice. Props!
That was good and all but 14K got them that day. You can check the video for urself. Yes 14K had popping but their routine also had way more difficulty.
I like all the HBCU dance teams , the girls look good and they are very clean. and the bottom line is thats what it all boils down too , a u must admit some squads are cleaner than others in the HBCU dace teams
Not saying that jsettes are absolutely terrible... But the dolls are #1! Look @ them its obvious! Jsettes have a lot more flaws than the dolls. With jsettes you can always tell who the captain is cause she sticks out. With the dolls you don't know who the captain is besides her dancing on the 50 because no one out does the other with the dolls.
I agree with anyone who spoke something close to this: FACE IT: THE TEAM DID OKAY BUT AINT SHIT SO AMAZING ABOUT THE DOLLS LIKE TSU TEAM, THOSE ARE REAL DANCERS!
Yeah and the keyboard was CLASSY. The dolls don't nor never will do no fugging tip drill dancing. It's about class and they still please the crowd with their looks. Popping on the ground and in the stands for the Dolls is a NO NO. Well at least last year it wasn't. Like I said a new captain waiting, and I'm not saying who she will be but check her out on the 1st of September.
I am quite impressed with the increased number of the dolls, I am also impressed to how they have continued movement and energy throughout the routine...As a dancer, mostly ballet, I would stress to them to make sure that they not only dance the routine, but perform it...Excellent work ladies...
View NSU's dancer's videos and these videos. No comparison. I know you like these girls, but the proof is on the field. NSU is hands down much better.
Please!!! How many females can get on the floor and booty shake all night long? The DANCING DOLLS are way passed that level. Their routines incorporate styles and techniques that takes years to develop. Just because they're a HBCU dance line, dosen't mean they have to fit the stereotype and strip on the field. Okay, I don't have anything to hate on, but that had to be the boringnest show i have ever seen. They are not great and certainly not flawless. It is something most any team can do. Booty shaking is not a necessity, but what they were doing, that ain't good!
I think that the routine was flawless on this dance arrangement by the dolls. however, compared to 14kt that day, this routine was very simple and didn't show any skills that the dolls have which made it a little boring. I spent the whole time wondering when they were going to break it down. its almost like baking a cake and not putting icing on it.
That was my favorite routine by the dolls EVER and they look more professional with 11 girls on the feild. I love how they do stage dancing on the feild. It works so it's good.
This squad is very good, people just dont like change. They're just as good as if they had 6. Their technique is impeccable and routine was as clean as a whistle. Its probably not entertaining because they arent popping like GSU or any other HBCU squad, but I bet your favorite HBCU squad would give them props so why dont you.

Hatred is nothing new for people who attend and have attended SU. SU is like the "POP HBCU." We have everything- Athletics, academics, The Band, The Dolls, Sports facilities, (SU is the All Around HBCU). SU is the only HBCU with it's own system. Oh, SU's Dancing Dolls are known for class, style, and elegance (the elements that make a LADY). Many of you who come here to hate, compare them to the loose and common dancers seen on most HBCU squads. They are ladies, not rap video hoochies.

Well I'm just a dancer for my high school marching band's dance team(dillard high).I mean i never took ballet classes etc., but i learned a great deal of technique from my previous captains who were very skilled because i do attend a performing arts school.However, besides 14K i think Southern is the best college dance team so far! they have technique, their beautiful, energetic, and they most def. have alot of class.

That's not true dont belive that rumor. Southern has had a number of dark girls dance for them. Brittany who was captain last year doesnt have long hair. So thats not really true.

Maybe that was cause you couldnt dance or you were ugly to her. D'Tara (a Dancing Doll this year) is as black as hell but she is beautiful and she can dance. You arent even that black, if that's you bent over on that pic. So maybe you couldn't dance that good or your ugly. I cant see your face but I saw your other face. The dolls have always been small well toned girls with pretty hair. Now skin color thats just crazy. If you're talking about light and dark there have always been dark skin girls on the team, Always! And I'm tired of people thinking that the team is all light skin girls. It's Not! When there was only 6 dolls atleast 2 of them were were darker toned than the "expected". And now that there are 11 or 12 the team is very well "distributed".

The dolls are average dancers. They pick their dancers by the way they look( body type, hair length , and skin color) and not on dance experience.They are gorgeous but they are just okay.They'd rather pick pretty girls and teach them how to dance than to pick ladies with yrs. of dance training .Ive seen SU's basketbal squad the Gold n Bluez and I believe they have better technique than the dolls do and they are also nice lookin young ladies. The dolls need to step their game !

SU is very beatiful and they have much talent... the ballet moves they do can b very complicated and most dancers cant pull them off... so they're not just okay, they're excellent, they have excelled through the years and r still moving, looks have to come wit them because they need to atract crowds. so dont down them wit ur kiddy comments, SU slays!

Umm.... Average???? I think not! Now the dolls they may pick a team based on body type, hair, etc., but if they do its understandable because they have had standards ;those standards for the past 26, 27 years. Any squad has a standard or a mold to fit.

Let me just say that first off I've never met a "dummy doll" in my life you jealous hater. The head guidance counselor at my school was a dancing doll, and i know of another doll whom was a successful chemistry major. secondly let me say this was a fly routine and it had technical skill as well as a good hip hop feel.

man...all the squads have their own style. That's y they compete at games. To show off they're styled routine and win the crowd. Not to win everybody opinion and say well "they wear weave and they should be classy and wear this or wear that"...they r the ones who took the time to make up the routine so ppl like us can comment on shyt like this. It's people like you that have opinions that really don't amount to anything... Yes the dolls do only wear 2 haistyles & that is: wraps (curls sometimes) & buns. It compliments thier appearance as CLASS & ELEGANCE!! They don't get on the field swinging 30 inch weaves like the rest of the HBCU squads looking like strippers & shaking their ass as if they were in a men's bar (14k since you mentioned)

And as far as this routine... You can include many types of dance into one routine as long as it is together... And the dolls have never had an issue with togetherness so this routine was great. If you pay enough attention they always perform @ least one hip hop routine however still incorporating technique on a yearly basis. This year that routine would be "get it shawty". I would encourage you to think before you touch the keyboard next time sweetie.

Not saying that jsettes are absolutely terrible... But the dolls are #1! Look @ them its obvious! Jsettes have a lot more flaws than the dolls. With jsettes you can always tell who the captain is cause she sticks out. With the dolls you don't know who the captain is besides her dancing on the 50 because no one out does the other with the dolls.

Yeah and the keyboard was CLASSY. The dolls don't nor never will do no fugging tip drill dancing. It's about class and they still please the crowd with their looks. Popping on the ground and in the stands for the Dolls is a NO NO. Well at least last year it wasn't. Like I said a new captain waiting, and I'm not saying who she will be but check her out on the 1st of September.

I am quite impressed with the increased number of the dolls, I am also impressed to how they have continued movement and energy throughout the routine...As a dancer, mostly ballet, I would stress to them to make sure that they not only dance the routine, but perform it...Excellent work ladies...

Okay, I don't have anything to hate on, but that had to be the boringnest show i have ever seen. They are not great and certainly not flawless. It is something most any team can do. Booty shaking is not a necessity, but what they were doing, that ain't good!

I think that the routine was flawless on this dance arrangement by the dolls. however, compared to 14kt that day, this routine was very simple and didn't show any skills that the dolls have which made it a little boring. I spent the whole time wondering when they were going to break it down. its almost like baking a cake and not putting icing on it.

This squad is very good, people just dont like change. They're just as good as if they had 6. Their technique is impeccable and routine was as clean as a whistle. Its probably not entertaining because they arent popping like GSU or any other HBCU squad, but I bet your favorite HBCU squad would give them props so why dont you.

Hatred is nothing new for people who attend and have attended SU. SU is like the "POP HBCU." We have everything- Athletics, academics, The Band, The Dolls, Sports facilities, (SU is the All Around HBCU). SU is the only HBCU with it's own system. Oh, SU's Dancing Dolls are known for class, style, and elegance (the elements that make a LADY). Many of you who come here to hate, compare them to the loose and common dancers seen on most HBCU squads. They are ladies, not rap video hoochies.
