@1989javiertaker:The ssh client should be installed by default on pretty much every Distro. As far as the server side, like openssh. I don't know what distro you use, but just install openssh-server with you package manager.
@anonymous4672 you know a lot of times people throw away nearly perfect monitors that you can fix for less than 5 dollars just by replacing the capacitors. I did this for my vx922 viewsonic when I thought it was toast. So if a monitor just "quits" on you its probably just capacitors which are super cheap. There's tutorials on youtube just search 'monitor capacitor'.
Yes clearly 11 would be overkill but 10 is just fine :P
That's very cool, every hear of synergy? thats the same thing and it's cross platform.
Is it possible to "send" a running X application to another computer? (from running application on host computer to ssh X forwarding on another) I think it could be possible, and it would totally rock!
I have used synergy. It is a great open source tool and if you need to do this on a windows machine it's great. One thing I like about x2x over synergy is that you only need it on one machine. with synergy you need the client on one machine and a server on another. As long as x2x is installed on one machine you can connect to or from it.
No, I have looked in the past and there is no away,at this time, to move an X program one computer to another once it's started.
I think 2 is good enough for most people. 3 is pushing it. 4 is overkill. And if you use Linux, you have those multiple desktops thing (C'mon MS, stop leaving us hangin'!)
That is so sweet! Now, why so many 4:3 monitors? why not 16:9 monitors? Only 1 widescreen (exept for the laptops)? I mean this is SO awesome, but do you prefer 4:3 monitors? :)
I only bought 2 of them. The Wide Screen a year ago. and the Sony 19" came with a computer I got about 5 years ago.
One of the 19" HP monitors I found at a Junk yard a year ago this week. The other HP19" was given to me about a week ago for helping some one with there computer.
One of the 15" screens my wife had since before I met her and the other 15" was given to me by a friend for my birthday.
His mouse pad is a floor rug.
