Tyson DID do some stuff well. Dodging good opponents, and looking good against people who could hardly stand up in the first place. Good on him I say ... he made plenty of cash pretending to be better than he was. Shame to see how easily some people stole his earnings.
2:04 HE SHOULD HAVE STAYED DOWN! :D Tyson vs Johnson is my most favorite knockout hit in the history of boxing lol. omg, I mean the mans head would have popped just off if Tyson would have hit any more harder lol.
Mikes a Legend!!!! in my opinion, a very great boxer, up there with the best, but very ununderstood!!!! Love how he helps up his opponents after he knocks them out! lol, great guy!
If you're wondering where the sportsmanship went... once he got the fame, the money, and the PUSSY(polygamous), his ego grew x infinity, and because of his troubled past and no father, he had issues that just came out ten fold. It's crazy what constant attention, tons of money, and constant pussy(polygamous aka tons of different women) will do to a man.
@staphinfection I'm picking up what you're laying down but Tyson isn't the only person to have no father and tons of fame but he is the only one (at least that I know of) that has TAKEN A BITE OUT OF ANOTHER MAN'S EAR!!! Thats some psycho stuff.
HE FUCKING WARNED HOLLYFIELD!! Dude, go watch Tyson's documentary, it will seriously change any negative views you have of him.
Dude grew up in the gutter, with no dad, drugs all around him, and all he did was go to the gym and meet that white dude that was his "father" figure and trained him to be so fucking great. Tyson lost it when the dude died though.... it's pretty sad.
THE 3RD DUDE SHOULD HAVE CUT THAT AFRO AND HE WOULDNT HAVE NOTHIN TO AIM AT AND THE 4TH SHOULD HAVE JUST NOT SHOWED UP WITH THAT FIGHTING STYLE... GOOFY
Think about those fights that don't last long, like the ones that go on for like :20 seconds. Everybody crowds into the room pays a lot of money for a seat. And in less than :20 seconds it's over. lol. I would be kind of pissed.
his opponents were just WINDFALL. mike tyson WASNT that good then. muahamad ali, joe frazier, rocky marciano would knock him out easily and yes modern fighters like david haye, wladimir klitschko would beat his ass up too!!!
@MrLeafshield Tyson was legend, a Heavy weight, who is fast as a lightweight, with a first round knock out punch. Compare him with today's boxers, he was heavyweight champ at twenty, modern boxers don't usually make it till 30 .
@jmcfintona999 was a legend? He isn't anymore? :O And reason for that ''he is fast as a lightweight'' is because his style was fighter, not a boxer. Watch that last knockout, he punched him like in streetfight, it isn't very typical for a boxer.
In 1985 I sparred with Tyson 11 times. I knocked him out in 9 of those sessions. I was paid handsomely to keep my mouth shut and have done so until now. I have the footage in a safety deposit box. I will remain anonymous as I do not want any recognition, nor do I want to embarrass Mike. I simply want people to know that there was a contender. I simply chose not to pursue it. @Wadd870 i wanted 2make u feel good by calling u a champ and u took it as a trophy exactly confirming the shallow person that u are lol. go now and build urself a monument, jajaj btw adios dreamer
this is when boxing was real, now you got clowns like mayweather being little princess bitches and goldenboy setting up dance recitals and everyone's afraid to get hurt. lil bitches.
I'm convinced Tyson wasn't as good as we & he thought he was. He never beat anyone Great and to be great you have to beat Great fighters. All those KOs were tomato cans.
@Chequemayte Yeah, you know, that ear-biting episode just really ruined that aspect about him. I think he had a lot of respect for the sport and that was just the one thing that he'll be best remembered for in the ring.
@hoasis2345 like I've been saying for years you fight dirty its bound to catch up with you. Sure he bit his ear off but for years Holly-field was head butting people and that's all everyone complained about. Eventually he ran into someone who didn't take it lightly. He was head butting him the whole damn match!!!!!!!!
@hoasis2345 Holyfield headbutted him serveral times leading up to it and biting his ear off is a bitof an exaggeration, it bled a bit but its still attached lol
@hoasis2345 Don King persuaded him to fire Kevin Rooney, The only trainer he actually listened to. As soon as Rooney was gone Tyson started to abandon his peek-a-boo style, shame really but Tyson had always been wild until he met Cus Damato then when he died he lost his only father figure and went wild.
@hoasis2345 Well at that time his life wasnt great at all, been in jail for ridiculous things so of course it has effect on him... And by the way, the dude whos ear was bitten wasnt so innocent as most of people think
@Chvija1986 Yeah I know Holyfield wasnt innocent...he was headbutting him and all that but Tyson took a chunk of his ear. What kind of mind frame do you have to be in to do something like that?
@hoasis2345 Well obvious that was his darkest years but I like to think that real Tyson is pre prison Tyson, a fighter, and this was final product of many factors... Maybe Im wrong...
@therealdealadam First of all, headbutts happen in boxing...part of the sport. Same thing with low blows...they happen. Biting someones ear off does not. At least its not common place. If you watch Tyson fight he tends to lead heavily in with his head down and forward which is the same way Holyfield fights so of course their heads hit but how is that strictly Holyfield's fault. Tyson was losing, knew he was going to lose again so acted out of desparation.
@hoasis2345 hollyfield was headbutting him on purpose and it wasnt just the occasionla accidental headbut it was constent and mike told the ref about it but he did nothing
@elmoskater So the logical step to take is to bite someones ear off??? If you are trying to tell me that Tyson was justified in taking a chunk out of this man's ear than maybe you are as crazy as he is.
@Chequemayte I've always heard that Tyson's early fights were set ups etc...But these early fights were with athletes that could have taken Tyson out with one shot had they landed...I remember waking my dad up when Tyson finally lost to Douglas in Tokyo. I thought the world was ending....
I see intelligence, determination and self belief. It just looks impossible to do him any harm, the other fighters just looked vulnerable with Tyson in his prime.
Is it just me or does "Iron" Mike seem to be bumbed out a little for the guys he knocks out? I think in his youth he was a total class act and an incredible fighter. I would also like to throw it out there that Tyson was beating Holyfield on all judges score card when he bit his ear. This guys emotional issues kept him from becoming the greatest fighter of all time. Though he is a legend, he is no where near the greatest.
i no in my day he wouldnt of had me in the 1st round i would have worn him down inside 3 rounds then totally out boxed out classed him, he wud have met his maker with me iwas and still for my age a classy boxer i train amateures now £1 session but believe me guys i wud have ate him for breakfast. i was the man.
@TheHitmanhearns Lol yeah right. And when was your day? If you're 40 you could've taken on Tyson in his and your prime. Fact is you didn't...because you weren't good enough. Tyson took out top ten world ranked boxers in 1-3 rounds so a stupid british wannabe would be no problem.
I'm glad you're only charging those amateurs 1 pound, everything else would be ripping them off.
@hardfugoo1 you hit the nail on the head man he showed great sportsmanship and you have to wonder if he ever looked back on his early career and thought what the hell happened to me
@cucumbersmugler yeah, true. i agree. 80s tyson was monitored by cuss is why he's under control. then 90s took over, that fuck whitey cRAP music scene started influencing him, along with his tremendous ego, and we know the ending. and yes, prison life didn't help his cause either.
Not only was Tyson a ko artist but his defensive skills were fuckin sick!!! Too bad Cus passed away and Tyson fired Kevin Rooney BEFORE the Douglas fight. Other wise he would've kept improving. In my opinion, Tyson never really reached his prime cuz he was still in his early 20s when all that shit happened. Fighters typically reach their peak in their late 20s, early 30s.
Whatever Tyson turned into later in life, he was still a gentleman in the ring early in his career. How many fighters do you see that go over and help someone up or make sure they're ok these days.
What a legend

@hardfugoo1 you hit the nail on the head man he showed great sportsmanship and you have to wonder if he ever looked back on his early career and thought what the hell happened to me

@cucumbersmugler yeah, true. i agree. 80s tyson was monitored by cuss is why he's under control. then 90s took over, that fuck whitey cRAP music scene started influencing him, along with his tremendous ego, and we know the ending. and yes, prison life didn't help his cause either.

@cucumbersmugler Check out the documentary "tyson"

Prison did a number on him as a fighter. That mixed with losing his trainer really changed his game and he never regained this supremacy.

long fight turned actually to be a short one LOL
