That is personal preference I don't disagree but at the time of this video Daisy had been in training for about 60 days one thing to remember is early on especially is to make things as fun as you can.
everything I have seen on the force breaking a retrieving dog is to start with a hold command. this is to help you dog hold the bird and NOT drop it. wouldn't you want to reinforce that when the dog brings anything back to you?
