@MsDarkdiamonds I was just trying to make a point about current music being shit. I happen to think that Coldplay are shite, along with RazorLight and the Kaiser chiefs and any similar sounding crap. Coldplay just sprang to mind so that's what got typed ! Was only having a rant, no need for you be confused. It's just MY point of view !! ok ?...........
What a fucking tune man !! I was born in the 70's and I just find this stuff so amazing !! How the hell can people say the 70's were shit ??? I swear I heard this from the inside my mums womb and the groove has been welded into my brain !!!! There aint nothing that can move you like this stuff !!! Brass Cons', Ohio Players, Maceo Parker, James Brown, P funk, Fatback, Average White Band OMG the list is endless, Music is shite now. I wish that cunt out of Coldplay would FUCK OFF !!!!!!
What a floor filler, man hearing this classic jam with a bumpin ass system will put you back into the 70's real quick "CAN YOU DIG IT?!" THE 70'S SOULFUL FUNK RULES, todays garbage has no foundation /substance @ all. These cats jammed for the love of music. Could you imagine having 15, 20 cats in one group today!!! the pay roll would run neck to neck with the new york yankees without the talent. War, E,W & fire, Parliment Funkadelic, 70's 5 *****'s2day no talent @ all. Commercials use 70'sound
This was the song that was playing on the episode of "Good Times" when they read the telegram telling them that James the Father died in an accident. Never forget that episode.
this song is uber-funky,but for as great as this song is,i cant help but to chuckle a little bit because this song was playing when florida evans found out that james evans was killed in a car wreck on good times.
@astephens0409 Keep moving on with Jesus. This music is our history, our legacy, our passion to be proud of. What go around the music is not always good, but everyday a new opportunity to move on. Be blessed!!
@DJMarkAnthony: Thought I was the o ly one who knew that the Bustip predated all the Electric slides, Cupid shuffled. Etc. I too Greer up in 'Da Boogie Down' and can remember carrying the speakers, Turntables and milkcrates if albums down to the park and jammin all night long. Still moving on!
our rich heritage in (authentic) music can resurge....but only if kids LEARN to play an instrument ! You can't sample forever and expect everyone to relate just because it has a hint of 70s music in it...especially when it's ruined with a bunch of mindless, often-filthy, unintelligible rap. Sorry to harsh your buzz yo, but that's what many people are thinking when they pull up to a gas station, car wash or a light & hear what emanates from some fool's car window...
@btinsley1 Right on the money Tinsley. And while their at it why don't these clowns come up with a stage show. A bunch of 20 somethings pacing menacingly across the stage with their pants down to their ankles is not the least bit entertaining.
@MrShakbo: you get the 1st thumbs up on that truth...your use of the word "menacingly" hit the nail on the head...and pants hangin' off stank butts makes me reach for the Airwick Solid, okay?
Brings back extremely fond nostalgic memories of doing the "Bus Stop" (the Godfather to the “Electric Slide” and all line dances thereafter for that matter, etc.) non-stop all-night long until the break of dawn in the Boogie Down Bronx NYC!
This was the heat back when I was a kid! Every skating rink block party and spade tournament this song was played! Now im 42 bored at work and reminiscing to songs like this. Thanks for posting
Larry Levan used to play this at the garage and the whole club would go wild. I also recall hearing this one at Mancuso's the Loft. to bad the kids nowadays don't have kind of clubs.

and I am moving on. Got myself together and I am moving on. That was the saying in the dormitory. College was a long time ago. Most memorable days. Listening to music between classes. Good times, great music.
everyone is in the front room dancing like we did when I was a kid. my youngest said.....all the songs are so long. I told her this was our cardio workout and social time all in one.
Flying around the skating rink with my boyz mid 70's, telling the slower skatings give up the wall......or get "OFF" the wall and let the talented one's pass. Every Tuesday night. Had a child being born on a skating night (I was only 19) and told the mother (18) can you speed things up a little so I could make it to the skating rink. I've asked her to forgive so many times over for that, I really felt bad 4 it. She's told our son (35)......and our granddaughter(15). Grandpa & his skates.
Thank God for Soul Train on Saturday Mornings when I was a kid...even though most of disco was 5 years before my time its kept these songs floating around in the back of my head.
Give me that good ole funky music!!!!! non-stop partying, drinking, telling lies, dancing, and high on the cloud. I love that good old funky music. Those were the days of the great bands with all that brass, and those tall, fine brothers rocking and playing those fantastic beats. Get on down. Groups like BT Express, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Brass Construction, Slave, Ohio Players, and Brick kept you in the groove. Timeless!!!!
LOL we were jamming this on the 8 track in my aunts duece and a quarter back in the day then we would bring the party back to the house and jam all night cuase we could
Man this was my pop in law Raymond Tyner Sr.'s stuff man he'd hear this and get up and break off into a mean robot and kung fu fight style of a dance man we'd just laugh our tails off and hit some of the 40 of Colt 45 he was my best friend too cause he helped me become a man in Dayton ohio in the Arlington Courts RIP to the God Father Tee and or as he was called down home in Tuskeegee Ala. Deeeeeee Cup! I will always love this song cause of him....

Class of '75 that's my class. Selling magazines for Mr. Edwards in Fredrickburg Va., then jammed in NYC for the remaining of the summer, jammin off of Bad Luck, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes feat. Teddy Pendergrass, traveling from the Bronx to Brooklyn. Jammin hard
A freshman in high school when this came out and loved when they played it at the skating rink! The floor would be packed, not a sole left standing even the people not skating were on the floor. Damn what fun. Even better when the high school band members learned to play it! House parties where you danced till you dropped to this tune. Great era, even better music. Rip Eugene Bryant , HHS!
very very good !!!! i'am french boy in PARIS in France good !!! Souvenirs 1980 /85 in the discotheque in PARIS i'ts very good !!!!! MERCI THANK YOU Sylvain..
You know I was also IN Berlin Mannsheim West Germany when it came out and party on back grear time. I would never forget the time we (anybody) have fun..
An anthem of the Blackpool Mecca/Ritz Funk Alldayers, back in the day. I saw them when they toured the UK... with the Detroit Spinners, believe it or not. They also performed live at the Mecca.
MY FAVORITE FUNK BAND BACK IN THE DAYS.I SAW THEM LIVE AT DISNEY WORLD 1978 ME AND THE DISCO VIBRATIONS DANCE GROUP. MIKE SANDERS STANLEY JOHNSON DON BLACKWELL TIM MITCHELL AND YO BOY KL MITCH HOLLA.
What I like so much about this song and have always loved is Randy's (the keyboardist) soloing. If you listen carefuly, he's rockin the hell out of the synths and boards. Wow!
I first heard about this song when it was listed as a sample used in DJ Quik's song "Niggaz Still Trippin." I also discovered that the very first note of this song was sampled by many rappers, and was actually a staple of early hip hop. This is a great song. Almost makes me wish I grew up in the '70s.

An anthem of the Blackpool Mecca/Ritz Funk Alldayers, back in the day. I saw them when they toured the UK... with the Detroit Spinners, believe it or not. They also performed live at the Mecca.
