  • This show looks really boring compared to our recent ones. :P Just saying..

  • Can you post the 1998 show?

  • Competitive marching band FOR THE WIN. I'm in a pretty famous one, myself. Blackstone-Millville Regional(BMR). Haters f*ck off. Unless you've marching with us and know what a marcher goes through, then shut the f*ck up. People underestimate what we do. It's hard sh*t. This is an amazing band. I love the music.

  • @TxRaider13 : I have no idea, ha. That was awhile ago.

  • @TxRaider13 I didnt say I was in this vid. I just merely said I was an '05 alum of Poteet. And seeing this vid brought back old memories in hs. I remember the band being freakin' awesome and lovin' our drumline at the time.

  • @Clyde0208 hmm so Galactic Empires was your senior year?

  • Wow, this bring up old memories from high school. I'm an '05 Alum myself. Go Pirates!!

  • All you people dissing... how many times has your high school marching members worked their tail so hard that they ended the season as the State champions? My high school was hardly any good so schools that look like this to me are amazing... even if a few of the sets are similar to previous years. And the music is very advanced for marching band.

  • Rico sucks balls....Nah this was my senior year, and I was bored playing this music...it sucked, but hey we won so thats all that matters

  • yeah yall do the same thing every year. the band marches well, plays well, and has pride. all the haters can well you know.

  • Playing= Friendswood

    Marching= Poteet

Fwood is almsot guranteed top score in music and poteet is almost guranteed top score in Marching, just a matter of how much time the other has put into its weakness, Not saying Poteet playing is bad cuz it quite good just not as dominate as their marching

  • awesome drill.

  • Saw parts of this routine last Thursday. Those are some funny guys in the tuba section.

  • Anything can look good if you keep the same shape throughout almost the whole entire movement...

  • Anything looks good at a two step interval.

  • It just didn't make me stand going woah, I mean it was good and all but it just seemed a little bland.

  • Jay freaking rocks!

  • What i find funny is people try to say we do the SAME thing every year and when they watch us the next year its seeing the same thing. how so. does anyone here remember thier are 2 elements to marching bands yet ll of the people who talk crap talk about marching that we do great but never bring up the comlex music we played compared to thier bands.

  • and i will never forget winning state back to back years=]

  • yes, they have the same formations but it's different all together, i would like to see bands do what we or they do, it's hard i know from experence with them, if you look at this there is very few flaws this show was near perfect for us. so just putting that out there

  • Its not all about formations it about good teaching and just straight up talent. The people judging are not stupid they know what hard work goes into making a band look this good and play this well. If someone could post the 97-98 State champs this old fart would appreciate it. Trombone Alumni 94-98 Andy Williams

  • I agree with Barrymanilow..

We have signature movements in the show that we always do, but its never the same show altogether.

  • Freakin Amazing

    -Sully

    Sax Alum 07'

  • Nice tune Jay.

  • poteets shows are different every year. Drill and music. We do similar formations like the giant triangle, the long line, sidesteps, the run. i would say 93% of the show is brand new

  • Go pirates 2010!!!

  • i go to poteet so yeah

  • and as far as same show they are both diff if u really watch yes some stuff is the ame but some of that are trademarks of what poteet it they are a fundemental band i have been bitched out more by my instructer about toe flex then my mom about back talk

  • dont get me wrong as well. i liek some factors boa bands bring to the table when i went to poteet we always wanted to add more but our instructors are all old school fundemental type people. i have bands like lewsiville marcus or lewisville i can never seperate them. but anywasy thier bands will lay down and dance around for the first 3 min of the show and it sucks. bands like broken arrow and ld bell i like cuz they still march alot while the add stuff

  • well, believe it or not.. i'd rather see some artistic aspects been shown in a show, than the same old marching. it's good don't get me wrong. people hate on me for leaving negative comments. people-- i think poteet is an amazing band.. i mean 3 time state champion says a lot. my argument is the unquestionable similarities between shows from 2004-2007. that is what upsets me becuase i would expect more from a state champion band!!

  • I realize I'm late to the party here, but I've seen your comments on a few Poteet shows and I just have to wonder: where is all this innovation coming from in Poteet's competition? Jut look at this year's state finals: the silver and bronze medalists served up warmed over Respighi and Elgar with easy drill. Your own alma mater played THE PLANETS for Pete's sake. Poteet's show was quite frankly the most exciting thing going on. Maybe it's the competition that needs to step it up.

  • It may be the most exciting, but everytime I see a Poteet show, I feel as if I've already seen it before.. to which a certain extent, IS TRUE! The band from my high school played the planets, which is a different show from last year, and the year before that, and the year before that... the innovation in Poteet's show is good, only becuase it has been rehearsed and performed year after year after year!!!

  • i cant name a year we did the same thing i was in the band 00-04 never had the same routine. if u can point out where id be glad to look. just cuz u see us do a triangle and circle back to back years dont mean its the same lol they are put in different way every year.

  • Ya'll are a really good band. And the guard is really great as well.

  • I think I speak for the whole band when I say thank you...it is great to hear a comment like that when everyone insists on being negativve!

  • oh and before anyone thinks im hating on BOA bands im not im actually a fan of broken Arrow high school. i just hate the bands who maybe play like 4 min of thier show and run around like idiots for the rest of the show.

  • now i could be taken this the wrong wat bochin09 but it seems to me like ur trying to say poteet makes marching bands look bad. almost ever band i have ever seen even DCI bands use alot of thier same routine a couple times. Oh wait poteet is a disgrace cuz their freshman and sophmores can march and play to music that most bonds wish they could play to. but the bands u must like are the ones who dance and lay down on the fields for 2/3 of thier show at competitions like BOA.

  • Yeah L.D. Bell is pretty good. And no I am not angry that when I was in school my band beat your band. In fact, I could care less if the band program at my high school was no where near your level. What does anger me is bands like yours that are making redundant shows and putting an end to what marching band trully is. No originality, artsmenship, and above all enthusiam. Bands like yours, who although may win, are brining the art of marching band to a mediocre and robotic state of mind!!!

  • are there any other schools that you go around trashing?

  • umm i think someone messed up and put that this is the 2005 show when it's the 2007.. oh no wait.. they are right... it's just that they are EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was going to cut you some slack...I thought maybe you were angry because your band program was not as recognized as ours or because you worked really hard and felt jipped out of a win...but now you are starting to sound a bit redundant...so please just stop commenting on our show you are not upsetting us you are just annoying...thanks for you obsession with us but please take it elsewhere...I suggest L.D. Bell High School...I hear they are good!

  • I was part of this band. I was a sophomore when we performed this show! It was an amazing feeling to be known as TEXAS MARCHING BAND STATE CHAMPIONS!

  • by far the best show ever

  • The kids are good musicians, but the drill design is full of redundancies. You can blame the director for that. Looking at other videos of past years from the same school, I see the same issues arising. I'd swear the 2004 show was almost exactly the same drill. Anywho, the kids are great musicians...and obviously love what they do. That's most important.

  • this show is phenomenal!
