@barongatsaya: maybe you need to look into some of the videos of MADZ and listen for yourself. Philippine Madrigal Singers is the only group i know that sings difficult pieces effortlessly. Besides, they are the only choir to win twice the much coveted EGP.

As far as I know, wala namang enmity between our choirs, or any other's nga for that matter. Personally, I'm just glad that Filipinos are getting known around the world because of our wonderful singers - Madz, UST Singers, o anong choir man. ^_^ We should be proud and thankful for these people. Maganda rin ang version ng UP Concert Chorus when they sang it at the 1st Asian International Choral Festival at the CCP in 1979. Sila yata ang orig. Syempre magaling din ang UP Singing Ambassadors, as always.
I beg to disagree. I never gave such an insulting comment to any other choral groups. I even praised 'The Madz' for choral excellence. People like Symph2000 and Aghasted will post comments that will belittle choirs -- not just UST Singers; and I simply put these 'so-called' choral critics in their right places. i've saw and heard them perform this piece live at the philam-life auditorium in manila. i think it was right after they won the choir of the world title. it was a tour de force performance. simply amazing!!!

You really can't compare coz Madz compete internationally with only 20 members while UST has at least 40 Singers...But I think both groups are quite dedicated in their craft.
UST Singers was first known as UST AS(Action Singers). When I was still in UST AS, Madz was really our idol. However, Prof. Fidel has his own style and he was able to enhance the group's harmony in his own way. Madz is Madz and UST Singers is UST Singers.. please don't compare.. just be proud that both groups are Filipinos. Peace! :)

I resent what you're insinuating. Madz and UST Singers are excellent choirs and have proven themselves in the world's stage. In this performance, UST Singers have proven themselves at par with the best choirs in the world. Deal with it!
This performance was really excellent! If you were just commenting on the position and comparing them to Madz because of that, I don't think you're being objective. I've heard both groups and they are both excellent choirs. This group is much larger, and they sound more robust (full-bodied, but not overbearing --if you know what I mean).
Madz is a smaller group, sound may not be as strong, but for its size, that sound is great! These two choirs are distinct from one another; both have proven track records in winning competitions globally. Be more open-minded and objective enough to realize that Madz is no longer alone in the top spot!
The 12345 is just a subdivision of the original beat. It's ONE two three four, ONE TWO THREE. if you're counting 5, then that's 5 half-beats plus a breath.
They are not trying to copy the Madrigal Singers, they usually perform standing with conductor in front. Maybe it's because of the song that's why they are seted. Anyway GREAT PERFORMANE!!!

dear friends, let's not go to the level of symph2000. he or she or "it" (probably "it" is more appropriate), clearly lacks proper education and maturity to handle matters like these. For information of everyone, Madz is no longer "UP" Madz. The group's name now is "The Philippine Madrigal Singers". In fact, a former UST Singers member is now a current member of Madz.
Huwag na lang pansinin si symph2000. kawawa naman eh. peace to all.

FYI, pumunta ka sa site ng European Grand Prix at makikita mo ang pangalan ng 2007 Grand Prize winner, University of the Philippines Madrigal Singers!!! Napaghahalatang trying hard talaga kayo!!! Walang non-UP members ang Madz. Baka sinasabi mo ay Madz et al. Alam ko tinatag nila yan para ma-accomodate ibang group na non-UP na makasali at ma-train. Gets ba ng makitid mong utak???

Walang non-UP member. Erwin Andaya(Tenor 1) was a UST Singers member; and he was part of the Madz that won the 2007 EGP. Huwag kang magmarunong na parang kilala mo lahat ng mga taga Madz. Kawawa ka talaga, at nakakatawa. Nagpapaka-trying hard naman na parang member ka ng Madz o parang kilala mo ang mga taga UST Singers. Sorry, mas kilala ko sila. Proper noun ang title na ito, at hindi descriptive phrase na basta na lang isinulat ng mga fans o members ng UST Singers. At hindi nila sinabi o nag-claim na sila ang best choir in the world...sa comment mo na ito mo, nakita ko na ito ang meaning para sa iyo, dahil sa tatanga-tanga mong interpretasyon ng "title" na napanalunan nila. Maganda rin ang version ng UP Concert Chorus when they sang it at the 1st Asian International Choral Festival at the CCP in 1979. Sila yata ang orig. Syempre magaling din ang UP Singing Ambassadors, as always.

I beg to disagree. I never gave such an insulting comment to any other choral groups. I even praised 'The Madz' for choral excellence. People like Symph2000 and Aghasted will post comments that will belittle choirs -- not just UST Singers; and I simply put these 'so-called' choral critics in their right places. Say what you want, but if there are people like these in youtube, I will continue what I am doing. But mind you, I have not attacked any single choral group in youtube. regards

i've saw and heard them perform this piece live at the philam-life auditorium in manila. i think it was right after they won the choir of the world title. it was a tour de force performance. simply amazing!!!

You really can't compare coz Madz compete internationally with only 20 members while UST has at least 40 Singers...But I think both groups are quite dedicated in their craft.

UST Singers was first known as UST AS(Action Singers). When I was still in UST AS, Madz was really our idol. However, Prof. Fidel has his own style and he was able to enhance the group's harmony in his own way. Madz is Madz and UST Singers is UST Singers.. please don't compare.. just be proud that both groups are Filipinos. Peace! :)

I resent what you're insinuating. Madz and UST Singers are excellent choirs and have proven themselves in the world's stage. In this performance, UST Singers have proven themselves at par with the best choirs in the world. Deal with it!

This performance was really excellent! If you were just commenting on the position and comparing them to Madz because of that, I don't think you're being objective. I've heard both groups and they are both excellent choirs. This group is much larger, and they sound more robust (full-bodied, but not overbearing --if you know what I mean).

Madz is a smaller group, sound may not be as strong, but for its size, that sound is great! These two choirs are distinct from one another; both have proven track records in winning competitions globally. Be more open-minded and objective enough to realize that Madz is no longer alone in the top spot!
