Nah Trower is not in this one and he was not in the origianl tune form '69 although the guitarist who replaced him sounded just like him. This guy is good too.
This song has been re-doscovered in the last few years! I remember hearing it only a couple of times on the radio in my lifetime (I'm 46). WONDERFUL SONG! I think the Edmonton version sounds better though, as it has the full orchestra backing the band.
The personal name of the only true God. His own self-designation. Jehovah is the Creator and, rightfully, the Sovereign Ruler of the universe. Jehovah is translated from the Hebrew Tetragrammaton, יהוה, which means He Causes to Become. These four Hebrew letters are represented in many languages by the letters JHVH or YHWH. Mark 1: 14 Now after John was put under arrest Jesus went into Gal´i•lee, preaching the good news of God
Great! Thanks for posting...Re: Gary's voice. Yes..still strong timbre after all this time. But, almost more important...SPOT ON PITCH !!! Ya.! Quality # ONE.
Trower's career height was during his collaboration with James Dewar ( the magic voice )...Trower wrote amazing songs during this period (bridge of sighs, Day of the Eagle, Can't wait much longer, etc...)
The guitarist looks/sounds like Geoff Whitehorn. He's primarily a session guitarist who's played with the likes of Paul Rodgers & Elkie Brooks. In the 1990s he wrote a regular blues guitar column for 'Guitar Techniques' magazine and also displayed his skills in clinics for Marshall amplifiers.
I heard Homburg for the first time in a long time on my local radio station they don't play procol harum songs very often but when they do its a whiter shade pale love that song so i got my procol harum records out played them lol
holy cow - cant believe how great this sounds. what a song - surely one of the greatest songs ever written. spine tingling! can you imagine the likes of oasis, radiohead, the kooks or any of these other new 'guitar' bands coming up with something as effortlessly brilliant as this? different era, different class. they really dont make them like this anymore
Gary Brooker has one of the strongest, most distinctive voices ever. One question though: no one cares when you record at concerts these days? I tried once at a Stephen Stills concert 20 years ago, security saw me and threatened to confiscate my camera.
Sometimes you can't bring cameras if they are "professional" (large zoom lens), but most of the time you can walk trough security with your camera in your hand. I think it is because everybody has a phone these days with a camera in it and you can't forbid people to bring their phones. I don't know if I'd dare to film a whole concert when standing at the front of the stage though!
Agreed, Gary Brooker is a good musician and his voice is astounding. What is more remarkable is that he still sounds as good as he did 35 years ago. Most vocalists lose the power in their voice after a few years - look at Bryan Ferry for instance - he sounds like an old grandad now. I'm old enough to remember seeing Gary on TOTP doing 'whiter shade of pale' week after week when it was number one and I've been a music fan ever since, but he is still one of my favourite voices of all time.

NOT a version to be remembered, it's just tuned-up to dutch standards of high notes, and lost its profound inner genuity.
Without its ow original character ,what remains? One of the bad versions of...
That is what I think.

Just Gary Brooker. This would have been recorded shortly after Matthew Fisher took Gary Brooker to court over AWSOP.

Still 1 of the most fantastic bands of any era. They are all fine musicians and still do the music credit.
