I think the fact that people missread this film is because it is pretty subtle. Some film critic said... "Lacing their scathing wit with an aching sadness, they define the dark irony of the past decade." I think thats pretty fucking impressive myself. Nothing very big happens, which is why people write it off, and because of that it captures the modern condition so well. Millions of people with their faces in computer screens trying to imagine away the outside world.

Those saying that it's a terrible idea for a film, don't think of it as 'The Facebook film". From what I understand it's about facebook in the same way Charlie's Angels was about law enforcement. It's a small part of a story about genius, greed, money and betrayal. Rolling Stone magazine is calling it the movie of the decade, it's being described as the Citizen Kane of the modern age and it has near unanimously excellent reviews. Give it a try, I doubt you'll be disappointed.
