Love Firefly and Serenity! This prof is a hero! Imagine: a THEATRE professor at one of the MOST liberal universities in the country posting something so honest and conservative! And no shock he got in trouble for it. Long live the Browncoats and all who share their ideals of justice and integrity!
Why don't you ever do videos on right wing censorship instead of acting like the left is the only one that does it? How bout at the 2008 Republican Convention when the riot police told Rage Against The Machine they couldn't play their scheduled protest show despite having the necessary permits?
"If during the Beijing Olympics, a band that was critical of the chinese government wasn't allowed to play, we would be crying about free speech censorship. But since it happened in the US, it's okay."
@yeebuddeh1 But it's still shitty music. I take that back the "music" is awesome. The lyrics are shitty. Zack de la Roch is a whiny little hypocrite punk who curses the very society that made him rich & famous and needs a boot up his ass.
@yeebuddeh1 If his rants weren't bullshit. If America were as bad as he says then why do many people who live in countries that have the political systems he advocates for ie Socialism/Communism risk everything they have to get here? They do so because having LIVED in, not just visited those kinds of societies, and seen THAT kind of corruption, America is a much better place to be. Let him go to Venezuela stage a little anti-Chavez show & see what happens. Of course he probably loves the guy.
The same reason people in capitalist Mexico risk everything to come to the US, because the US has a much higher standard of living than 3rd world countries.
Playing an anti Chavez show would be fine. Nearly all of the media networks in Venezuela are anti Chavez. Believe it or not, Venezuela actually has freedom of speech.
Just curious, which of his rants do you consider bullshit? Can you quote me some lyrics and explain what's factually inaccurate about them?
@yeebuddeh1 No, they don't. Chavez ceased control of the media outlets and killed or imprisoned any who spoke out against him. They're personal sentiments might be anti-Chavez but nothing anti- Chavez goes on air. Besides when have Communist countries EVER had freedom of speech? A few Bullshit rants come to mind, specifically those in support of Leonard Peltiert & Mumia Abu-Jamal. Or Do you think that the murder of law enforcement officers is no biggie? Peltier admitted his actions to witnesses
Chavez recently ceased control of ONE news station, RCTV because they were proven to be involved in the 2002 US backed coup attempt against him. No one was put in jail or killed, the station's license was simply not renewed. There are still plenty of anti-Chavez media networks broadcasting in Venezuela
I don't know why you think Venezuela is Communist, the income inequality between rich and poor is still on par with most 3rd world countries (and the US).
"Why do you think a dictatorship like Mubarak’s or the King of Saudi Arabia’s never received the same vitriol and hatred as the democratically elected regime of Hugo Chavez? Because it is not Communism or Socialism or even radical Islam that this country is opposed to. It is any form of government, any regime or any person that stands between the United States and it’s economic interests that should be considered marked for death."
@yeebuddeh1 As for Mumia Abu Jamal, Two witnesses at the scene identified him as the shooter. His revolver was found near him as were 5 spent shell casings, bullet fragments taken from Officer Faulkner's body matched the rifling of his gun's barrel. And two witnesses at the hospital testified he said quote "I shot the motherfucker, and I hope the motherfucker dies." Of course Faulkner was "The Man" & Abu Jamal was a left wing activist so I guess it was justified in Zack's mind.
These guys are fools. Professors tear down our country every day? Absurd. And then they mock Firefly. Douche bags.

Why is a woman in charge of security at this university? She should be at home making dinner for her husband.

@mothafraker
As for Mumia, Zack believes that he was wrongfully convicted as were many African Americans during that period. That's his opinion, I don't share it.
What I do share is his stance on American militarism and economic imperialism in the 3rd world. He is spot on with that
