Dear Robbie! John Farrell was one of my best friends. He learned me to cut and arrange pianorolls. That means that we developed a very kind of brotherhood. Great to hear you! It was such a shock to me when i heared that he has left us. I spoke with him on the phone just a few days before he died and he invited me to come and visit him.

Glad to see that someone finally put Zonky up on YouTube. Great left hand, very impressive. I agree with jazznbear's comments, although I believe with more practice and confidence the tempo will probably even out quite a bit on it's own. Have more fun with it, don't concentrate on it so much (I know, easier said than done) and you'll find that you'll probably play lighter, faster and with more swing. I'd love to see you put it up again in the future and hear the difference.

That's really good! You have a very supple left hand that works excellently for this style. You should play more of this stuff!

Robbie, You have a good feel for the stride style.That good strong left hand you show needs to support the entire piece. We all have to take a lesson from the ALMIGHTY FATS; STRIDE SWINGS! I recommend that you rehearse with a good drummer who can keep a steady beat...no metronomes, no drum machines- you and your drummer develop a steady beat and you will be pleased at the results!
