C'mon son are you people actually knocking Charlie brown. The cartoon was made in the late 60's early 70's that's what they did. And who doesn't like Jesus... Really... That's just hatred son I hope y'all get over that. Even if you chose to be an atheist it's an opinion that's what YouTube is for... Self expression... Happy holidays
I don't want to be religious. I just want to serve a living Savior. And do what he said. GO AND SIN NO MORE. GET OUT OF THE SIN BUSINESS AND FOLLOW HIM. And have everlasting life. EVEN IF YOU DON"T BELIEVE DON"T RUIN CHRISTMAS FOR THE ONES THAT DO.
This should be shown on every kid's channel. This is the true meaning of CHRISTmas. On new cartoon CHRISTmas specials, they say the meaning of CHRISTmas is love, being with your family, presents, trees. It really disgusts me.
@Patriot3332 Yeah. What kind of moral degenerates celebrate love and family instead of JESUS at Christmastime? Nothing like neglecting what really makes us and others happy in life in favour of religious zealotry.
Love all the Charlie Brown videos but this one is my favorite, "What Christmas Is All About." We invite everyone to visit our testaview Channel check out, "O Holy Night," and, "Angels We Have Heard On High." THE PAYNES (Leonard & Testaview)

the point of the whole "pagan" thing is that this is how the christians made christianity less daunting for the pagans, by using one of the pagans' holidays as the stage for Jesus' birth. Jesus was actually born around april.
Maybe jesus existed and maybe he didnt. And christianity does exist. Its currently a religion whether it has pagan traits or not. So what is your point?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I will certainly join in that fun. however, delve into truth. Realize for yourself that every single detail of that celebration does not resemble Christ, except the name Jesus Christ is forcefully applied. It's a tradition since centuries ago, but it may not be one that God is pleased with based on teachings of the Bible. the bible did tell us not to be yoked together with pagan as God is easily jealous.
who cares what day He was actually born! We Christians celebrate his birth period....the birth of the Saviour of the world. It doesnt matter how much you dont agree with the existence of Jesus or you dont agree that people should celebrate it...I do as do many other Christians around the world..at least true Christians celebrate it Peace to all of you...even the non-believers...May the peace of Jesus Christ come to you even if your heart is not open yet. God bless you and keep you.
"Christians incorporated pagan elements into the celebration of Christmas"You actually proudly acknowledged that fact. All the practices n teachings of this festival are unbiblical and even Anti-biblical.Birth of Jesus is false, pagan practices roamed the festival in name of Jesus, a God who detests having pagan traditions incorporated in His Word. Do you think the establishment of this day is absolutely fine for Jesus?Jesus wants no birthday celebration, but simply commands us to rmb His death.
dude.... shutup. honesly, for most people christmas has very little religious significance. It simpy represents a time for family, and giving thanks for the simpler things in lafe. Its charlie brawn man cmon....
Im not going to argue his existece with you, your mind is obviously made up in that concern, but his philosiphy of peace on earth and good will should be celebrated. So, do i celebrate his birthday, not particularly, but i would have to say i practice his methods of honoring family. I honestly dont care if he was born on that day or not. It is a tradition that has been passed down for millenia, and I intend to keep it, religious or not.
Okay, you are totally putting words in my mouth. I am not "proudly" admitting what I said.
You can't say all the practices are unbiblical; if you throw away the trees, the decorations, the presents, the reindeer, the children's stoires, the Christmas story is NOT unbiblical. It was actually the basis of the prophets in the Old Testament! You kidding me!?
In reality, Christmas can be celebrated anytime of the year. We don't know what day Jesus was born.
The reason this is proudly acknowledged is because it is EVANGELISM. This is the same reason the early church moved all saints day from May and incorporated into a pagan ritual that we now call Halloween! Want a biblical example that proves this is wise? Acts chapter 17 Paul incorporates the gospel with a pagan alter to the unknown god. Why? EVANGELISM. Jesus said all authority has been given to him on heaven & earth so GO! Your withdrawing approach to culture does not honor God! Matt. 28:18-20!
Jesus said be in the world, not of the world. Some of you guys are not even IN the world. You will have little to no impact on the Kingdom because you are so afraid of making a mistake that you are on the defensive. Jesus said, "I will build my church and the gates of hades will not overcome it. Gates are a defensive mechanism. Hell is on the defensive but some of you who are supposed to be the "light of the world" are running from darkness and keeping the light from those who need it!
hey, Christmas is not even the birthdate of the Lord Jesus, yet it is known to the world (erroneously) that it was the birth of Jesus, isnt it actually some kind of a lie? how do all other religions look at Christians then? Are Christians actually hypocrites who made things up out of our own will instead of God's?We established Christmas on the date of a pagan worship background, and also abolished Sabbath Day from Saturday to Sunday,(and many more doctrines)yet not considered offensive to God?
i wont be surprised to find this scene or movie cut out or prohibited from being aired somewhere in the near future. Mention God or Jesus or the bible and the world, gov't, and liberals go berserk. Mention anything! but those three essential things and we are fine...on a fine road to destruction by calling what is bad good and the good bad.
sad really.AND NO ONE CAN disagree that the name Jesus or God is a constant insult to the world's ears. How insane is that..
@redemption707 u said it all and i didnt know that Charles Schultz wouldve walked if they cut the scene out. I know that when the show aired n 1965 it was and still has one of the highest tv ratings n history. Wonderful show!! Thank u Mr Schultz for sharing ur faith with the world through cartoons
This country was founded base on Christianity and more importantly on RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. There's not much freedom now a day if we can't even wish someone a MERRY CHRISTMAS or put up a christmas tree in public places. Every religion teach the idea of tolerance and all the HYPOCRITES practicing those religion proclaims it, but as soon as Christmas or Jesus is proclaim it is "insensitive". Where is the tolerance that they supposedly practice?
Not true imo... Because whether or not christ did or did not exists, christmas was based off of a pagan holiday... Its easier to fuse qualities of one religion to another to make it easy to convert people which is why christmas isnt what it seems.
The pagan holiday is known as the Winter Solstice; it was called Christmas before Christians incorporated pagan elements into the celebration of the holiday. So, let's say we live in a time where Christ would never exist . . . . . we wouldn't call the Winter Solstice "Christmas"
Well when you said there wouldnt be a christmas without christ then thats true because of what christmas is today. But the origins of christmas existed before christ and thats what i meant.
The origins, yes. But it was never referred to as Christmas. Without Christ, for one there would be no Christianity, and the holiday decorations- it would just be celebrating Winter Solstice . . . . .
Well thats only a name. Im sure if the words christmas and christ were something different and they were just replaced then it would be another name. Just another name... the meaning is still there and what it represents and comes from still may exist...
So lets stop sounding like were contradicting each other if were coming to an agreement LOL . Sounds like a funny kind of debate. A debate of agreement lol.
So u basically agree on the fact that Christmas was derived from a pagan celebration. Didn't God clearly command us to abstain from paganism? But look at Christmas, where did santa claus, christmas trees etc come about? They didn't come from the Bible, but the pagan traditions. The wrong birthdate already defies the right to call it a Christians' festival. Jesus is not a small god to b used as deco to beautify a tradition. He is the greatest God who is extremely jealous and detests paganism.
The church has never said Jesus was born on Dec 25. Christmas wasn't created to be a "birthdate" it was created to celebrate the simple fact that Jesus was born in the first place. Evergreen trees, reindeer, red and green colors, Saint Nick...those were all created by God and there is nothing inherently evil about them. Pagans ate breakfast. Shall you stop eating it as well?
do not talk childish talks. As you ard admitted, pagans, yeah? everything abt the festival is completely pagan. In the spiritual sense, Pagans are certainly not something favorable to God and i believe i don't need to repeat the bible verses to prove to you. Christmas is not Jesus' birthday yet it is proclaimed as one, don't you think it's pretty pathetic and deceptive? Nothing is evil about God's creation, but man caused the creation to be evil in God's sight.
Again, I repeat, the church (the original church that also originally put together the bible ) has NEVER proclaimed Dec 25 was Jesus Brithday. Even in Catholic schools, they teach students that the reason dec 25 was chosen by the pope was to have Jesus overshadow the pagan winter solstice, and it worked bc now Christmas is the biggest holiday and hardly anyone knows what winter solstice even is. Only some silly American protestants say, "Happy Brithday Jesus!" on Dec 25 bc they misunderstand.
If it was a day for Jesus, make a DAY for Jesus based on what Jesus is pleased with, not to simply place the name Christ into some sort of already-exist pagan celebration with all sorts of pagan stuffs.
Don't you meant to say, "make a day based on what SimplyMade is pleased with?" Don't speak for all us Christians. Some of us believe Jesus would be pleased by smiling, excited Children on Christmas and families getting together when they normally wouldn't. All the things we do on Christmas can have some religious meaning if you attribute it to them. When I was younger, I was taught that the evergreen Christmas trees represented how God and his love were everlasting.
I said make a day based on what Jesus is pleased with since you are so desperate to create a day for Him, but Christmas itself carries paganism and you can't deny that. Human beings get excited over anything. Families can come together on Christmas, this doesnt mean Christmas is thus biblical. We can attribute to anyday n anything some religious meanings, not only on Christmas.Christmas is founded on unbiblical teachings, tho some maybe morally healthy, doesnt mean God favors it
The day, Dec 25 was specifcally chosen by the pope to be a celebration of Jesus's birth to purposefully yet peacefully overshadow the popular pagan Winter Solstice holiday. It worked. You'd think a bible thumper would approve of this, so why the complaints? If you understood semiotics, you'd see the meanings of the things that offend you have changed. The word "nice" used to be an insult in the 13th century but has a new meaning in the 21st. Are you offended by people who call you nice?
Christ Mass is about Jesus and it is good that we have video's like this to remind us. If you are lighting up the outside of you house why not say Happy Birthday Jesus
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
wtf has santa have to do with jesus birthday anyway?.even doh i celebrate it.
xmas was made up so companys could make more money.when xmas comes the last thing on peoples mind is jesus, its more like"wat iam i getting this xmas.how am i gonna make the money to get that for my kids.xmas is just another thing made up by illuminati or masons 2 drains us of everything.if you look at the xmas tree watt does it look like? it loks like the all seeing eye. Star the eye and tree the pyiramid.think aboutit
Christmas in and of itself was not made up. Certainly, its current image was pushed by corporations (the current popular image of Santa is for example from an early Coca Cola ad). Santa Claus was long part of Christmas before that, as a German folk version of St. Nicholas, just not the main image and not as materialistically centered
It's wonderful. Thank's for posting that. Just when I get close to despair around this time, it helps to see that some people still know what this is all about. Merry Christmas everyone!
27 but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise; and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;
28 and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are:
Schultz put it in his contract that they couldn't remove this scene. It's one of the few chances TV viewers ever have to hear the truth. I wish there were more shows like it.
Before I prayed my rosary for the Joyful mysteries, this weekend, I kept thinking of this speech and thanked him .....I felt an acknoweledgement in my heart chakra.....I'm so glad I found it on youtube. @validopinion
I am the biggest grinch ever. I absolutely HATE Christmas and all of the money, rushing, hugely high expectations and disappointment. BUT I have this clip on my Ipod year round and it never fails to make me stop, close my eyes and listen. Beautiful.
This is one of the most innocent moments in all of Television History; be thankful you were part of the few who were able to view it...before this Great country of ours got so damned "p.c." that we can't even say..God without a million disclaimers!!! I'm proud of my past and it makes me and my children better people; not whimps who are afraid to speak up.
you atheists sound like a ranting child in a soiled diaper whining cause his mommy didn't give him a cookie. if you don't like the message of Jesus Christ, then don't watch these videos. geez!! i miss the america i grew up in where every stupid little thing wasn't offensive.
I am so ashamed that cartoons say "The true meaning of Christmas is Sharing". As good as SHARING is, that is NOT what Christmas is about. It is about our Saviour, Jesus Christ. God gave his only son to die on the Cross, FOR US. He died a horrible, painful death, and resurrected in 3 days just so we could be accepted into heaven. No, he didn't HAVE to do it, he CHOSE to do it.
AMEN

This should be shown on every kid's channel. This is the true meaning of CHRISTmas. On new cartoon CHRISTmas specials, they say the meaning of CHRISTmas is love, being with your family, presents, trees. It really disgusts me.

@Patriot3332 Yeah. What kind of moral degenerates celebrate love and family instead of JESUS at Christmastime? Nothing like neglecting what really makes us and others happy in life in favour of religious zealotry.

the point of the whole "pagan" thing is that this is how the christians made christianity less daunting for the pagans, by using one of the pagans' holidays as the stage for Jesus' birth. Jesus was actually born around april.
1lovewatchingmovies 2 years ago
Actually, no one knows for sure when Jesus was born. But more importantly, what does it matter?

I will certainly join in that fun. however, delve into truth. Realize for yourself that every single detail of that celebration does not resemble Christ, except the name Jesus Christ is forcefully applied. It's a tradition since centuries ago, but it may not be one that God is pleased with based on teachings of the Bible. the bible did tell us not to be yoked together with pagan as God is easily jealous.
SimplyMadeOfDust09 2 years ago
who cares what day He was actually born!

SimplyMadeOfDust09 2 years ago
dude.... shutup. honesly, for most people christmas has very little religious significance. It simpy represents a time for family, and giving thanks for the simpler things in lafe. Its charlie brawn man cmon....
Jm1dnight 2 years ago
that's the point... it's never about the religion huh? never about Jesus, nor his teachings...
SimplyMadeOfDust09 2 years ago
Im not going to argue his existece with you, your mind is obviously made up in that concern, but his philosiphy of peace on earth and good will should be celebrated. So, do i celebrate his birthday, not particularly, but i would have to say i practice his methods of honoring family. I honestly dont care if he was born on that day or not. It is a tradition that has been passed down for millenia, and I intend to keep it, religious or not.
Jm1dnight 2 years ago
Okay, you are totally putting words in my mouth. I am not "proudly" admitting what I said.
You can't say all the practices are unbiblical; if you throw away the trees, the decorations, the presents, the reindeer, the children's stoires, the Christmas story is NOT unbiblical. It was actually the basis of the prophets in the Old Testament! You kidding me!?
In reality, Christmas can be celebrated anytime of the year. We don't know what day Jesus was born.
dd1985 2 years ago
then DO throw the trees, deco, presents, reindeer... etc away, so that it's biblical, or a better word, godly enough.
SimplyMadeOfDust09 2 years ago
I already do that. The trees, deco, presents, all that stuff- it's just for fun. Totally irrelevant from the true meaning of Christmas.
We don't thank the Lord for all the above mentioned; we thank him for the birth of the one who would save mankind and triumph over evil and death.
dd1985 2 years ago 3
well actually the tree and candy canes and the lights on the Christmas tree is about (this is what i heard) :
candy canes: stood for the shepards canes
lights: stands for the "light" in the world ( i think)
the star:stands for the the star that guided the wise men and others
peanutbutterjellies 2 years ago
The reason this is proudly acknowledged is because it is EVANGELISM. This is the same reason the early church moved all saints day from May and incorporated into a pagan ritual that we now call Halloween! Want a biblical example that proves this is wise? Acts chapter 17 Paul incorporates the gospel with a pagan alter to the unknown god. Why? EVANGELISM. Jesus said all authority has been given to him on heaven & earth so GO! Your withdrawing approach to culture does not honor God! Matt. 28:18-20!
itisasis 2 years ago

This country was founded base on Christianity and more importantly on RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. There's not much freedom now a day if we can't even wish someone a MERRY CHRISTMAS or put up a christmas tree in public places. Every religion teach the idea of tolerance and all the HYPOCRITES practicing those religion proclaims it, but as soon as Christmas or Jesus is proclaim it is "insensitive". Where is the tolerance that they supposedly practice?
vnxdragon 3 years ago 2
Dude, I agree. Without Christ, there wouldn't be a Christmas.
dd1985 3 years ago 25
Not true imo... Because whether or not christ did or did not exists, christmas was based off of a pagan holiday... Its easier to fuse qualities of one religion to another to make it easy to convert people which is why christmas isnt what it seems.
reaperofgenocide 2 years ago
The pagan holiday is known as the Winter Solstice; it was called Christmas before Christians incorporated pagan elements into the celebration of the holiday. So, let's say we live in a time where Christ would never exist . . . . . we wouldn't call the Winter Solstice "Christmas"
dd1985 2 years ago 2
Well when you said there wouldnt be a christmas without christ then thats true because of what christmas is today. But the origins of christmas existed before christ and thats what i meant.
reaperofgenocide 2 years ago
The origins, yes. But it was never referred to as Christmas. Without Christ, for one there would be no Christianity, and the holiday decorations- it would just be celebrating Winter Solstice . . . . .
dd1985 2 years ago
Well thats only a name. Im sure if the words christmas and christ were something different and they were just replaced then it would be another name. Just another name... the meaning is still there and what it represents and comes from still may exist...
reaperofgenocide 2 years ago
That is exactly what I am saying!
dd1985 2 years ago
So lets stop sounding like were contradicting each other if were coming to an agreement LOL . Sounds like a funny kind of debate. A debate of agreement lol.
reaperofgenocide 2 years ago
We don't agree, but we're saying the same thing.
What I am saying-
Jesus exists= Christmas (with or without pagan decorations)
Jesus if he didn't exist= ummm, Winter Solstice, pagan decorations, that's about it.
dd1985 2 years ago
Im just confused lol.... So what do you think i was saying since you just explained basically what you were saying?
reaperofgenocide 2 years ago
So u basically agree on the fact that Christmas was derived from a pagan celebration. Didn't God clearly command us to abstain from paganism? But look at Christmas, where did santa claus, christmas trees etc come about? They didn't come from the Bible, but the pagan traditions. The wrong birthdate already defies the right to call it a Christians' festival. Jesus is not a small god to b used as deco to beautify a tradition. He is the greatest God who is extremely jealous and detests paganism.
SimplyMadeOfDust09 2 years ago
The church has never said Jesus was born on Dec 25. Christmas wasn't created to be a "birthdate" it was created to celebrate the simple fact that Jesus was born in the first place. Evergreen trees, reindeer, red and green colors, Saint Nick...those were all created by God and there is nothing inherently evil about them. Pagans ate breakfast. Shall you stop eating it as well?
CertainAsTheSun 2 years ago
do not talk childish talks.
SimplyMadeOfDust09 2 years ago
Again, I repeat, the church (the original church that also originally put together the bible ) has NEVER proclaimed Dec 25 was Jesus Brithday. Even in Catholic schools, they teach students that the reason dec 25 was chosen by the pope was to have Jesus overshadow the pagan winter solstice, and it worked bc now Christmas is the biggest holiday and hardly anyone knows what winter solstice even is. Only some silly American protestants say, "Happy Brithday Jesus!" on Dec 25 bc they misunderstand.
CertainAsTheSun 2 years ago
If it was a day for Jesus, make a DAY for Jesus based on what Jesus is pleased with, not to simply place the name Christ into some sort of already-exist pagan celebration with all sorts of pagan stuffs.
SimplyMadeOfDust09 2 years ago
Don't you meant to say, "make a day based on what SimplyMade is pleased with?" Don't speak for all us Christians. Some of us believe Jesus would be pleased by smiling, excited Children on Christmas and families getting together when they normally wouldn't. All the things we do on Christmas can have some religious meaning if you attribute it to them. When I was younger, I was taught that the evergreen Christmas trees represented how God and his love were everlasting.
CertainAsTheSun 2 years ago
I said make a day based on what Jesus is pleased with since you are so desperate to create a day for Him, but Christmas itself carries paganism and you can't deny that. Human beings get excited over anything. Families can come together on Christmas, this doesnt mean Christmas is thus biblical. We can attribute to anyday n anything some religious meanings, not only on Christmas.Christmas is founded on unbiblical teachings, tho some maybe morally healthy, doesnt mean God favors it
SimplyMadeOfDust09 2 years ago
The day, Dec 25 was specifcally chosen by the pope to be a celebration of Jesus's birth to purposefully yet peacefully overshadow the popular pagan Winter Solstice holiday. It worked. You'd think a bible thumper would approve of this, so why the complaints? If you understood semiotics, you'd see the meanings of the things that offend you have changed. The word "nice" used to be an insult in the 13th century but has a new meaning in the 21st. Are you offended by people who call you nice?

Christmas in and of itself was not made up. Certainly, its current image was pushed by corporations (the current popular image of Santa is for example from an early Coca Cola ad). Santa Claus was long part of Christmas before that, as a German folk version of St. Nicholas, just not the main image and not as materialistically centered
