Layer Cake was great but like a lot of movies there is a part that makes no sense. "The Serb" is not really a Serb according to the language he speaks on the phone to "Dragan" at the beginning after the pills are stolen from him. It's too bad detail like that is not perfect.

That's funny how everybody hates the trailer so much. I guarantee that if the UK trailer was used to advertise this film in the US even fewer people would have seen it here than already did. US action film audiences generally want a trailer that shows what the movie is about; if it's anything unusual or art-film looking, they won't be interested.

The soundtrack is dope as Hello-Kitty! Most of you have never heard about this film but when you see it you’ll understand why Craig got the role of James Bond. Look for the scene when he first holds a gun. It's like he is briefly 007 when he comes around the corner holding the gun trying to be all cool. A+ THIS IS A MUST SEE!

Even Scorcese himself was disappointed with Casino, thinking he made a "made for making money in theatres" movie instead of what he wanted which was more like GoodFellas (not a great commercial sucess but a masterpiece). I would even consider GoodFellas as my favorite movie of all time in any genre, not just the crime genre. It was sheer perfection on screen.

In my opinion, "Gotti" was probably the greatest Mafia Movie made, within the last 25 years. After that, "Once Upon a Time in America" , the original, director's cut (not the bull they showed in theaters)..

Casino was good. Goodfellas was good. But, they both pale to "Gotti" ... Real Life story... Perfectly shot, casted, and directed.

Just my humble opinion.

@12Daze "Gotti" was a pretty good made for TV movie, but it was NO GoodFellas. I did like Once Upon a Time in America but in my opinion it was much less of a timeless classic that GoodFellas was. I do respect everyones opinion and I defintely respect yours as those are two picks that you dont typically see for Mafia/Gangster movies so to each his own....Cheers!

@Slotten68 Actually, Gotti was just direct to video. Definitely not made for TV. Witness to the Mob and Last Don 1 were made for TV, and still pretty good. Witness to the Mob, is basically the flipside to Gotti... Using some of the same cast.

Goodfellas is definitely a classic. I just think "Gotti" shows you more of the real side of the Mafia.
