Angel Earrigns and Mytril helmet increases holy elem dmg, so with Holy Lance and Excalibur II you'll deal 9000+ to every enemy, Devil Monsters and Undead r weak against Holy elem attack, like the four Chaos and Necron

oh ye EssentiaFour, i got a good trick to deal more dmg, try to keep a angel earrings and try to synth a fairy earrings, you must have 2 mytril helmets and steal a Kaise Knuckles or buy it in dagerreo

is a good trick, becuz Fairy Earrings increases Wind elem dmg + Kaiser Knuckles(elem wind) you can deal about 7k and even 9999 dmg, so well with the exception of Tiamat that he Absorbs Wind elem Dmg(i think) i got a good tip "Flying monsters and Bosses r weak against Wind elem"

I submitted this speedrun to Speed Demos Archive, and they don't allow any hardware modification on their runs. Since you have to open the disc tray to skip FMVs, skipping them counts as hardware modification.

Ah, ok it's too bad you can't because there are like 50 minutes of FMVS through-out the course of the game.

Where did you get the ability MP turbo?

Red Hat, Power Belt, Battle Boots, and Cross Helm all have the MP Attack ability. I believe I used the Power Belt and maybe the Cross Helm to get it (can't quite remember).

Man, I really need to play through this game again. It was so absolutely amazing. It was everything that I wanted it to be, which was a real HUGE surprise after FFVIII.

2:30 - 4:00 is seriously the sickest thing in the whole game - visuals, music everything...

FFIX is kind of weird in that your level doesn't matter as much in determining how much damage you do. You can be at low levels and still do a lot of damage by having powerful weapons and by using damage-boosting abilities like Dragon Killer, Bird Killer, MP Turbo, and so on.

Well that's true, and you can hit 9999 on Lv1 (Really with powerful weapon...)... Really level's doesn't matter, but so does FFVIII, just junction right and it actually makes it easier (on ff8) being on low levels, because you can be UBER Strong and the bosses are weaker...:P

I HATE how in FF8, the enemies level as you level. I'm level 100, and I've never beaten Ultimecia. It's impossible.

I actually like it because it means I get to avoid all the random battles I don't want to fight anyways. Just draw 100 of a certain magic during 1 battle and your good to go.
