they're experiencing the exact same thing as astronauts. zero gravity is actually a misnomer. there is gravity everywhere. if the earth's gravity didn't extend past the atmosphere, then we wouldn't have a moon... astronauts are weightless because they are in a free fall state (along with the shuttle), completely under the influence of gravity. they don't hit the ground though, because they're going so fast that they miss the earth. when they want to get back to earth, they just slow down. :)

The space hotel will be in LEO (Low Earth Orbit), where the Earth's own magnetic field can still protect against radiation.

Now a hotel in geosynch could have a problem (but by the time we're building hotels there, we should be able to pack moon dirt around the structure for shielding).

I gotta say, I'm all for the idea of Space Tourism, but this is ludicrous. You can jump out of a plane and fly for real for a few hundred dollars.

The zero-G isn't fake. It's just what astronauts experience... EXCEPT that is only lasts for thirty seconds or so. Then they do it again... then again...

If that doesn't make you toss your cookies, real spaceflight will be a breeze.

And yeah, it costs too much. But there's an American company now, Zero Gravity Corporation, that offers the same sort of thing for "only" $4,100.

I don't see why it needs to be any more than $325, which is what American charges to fly NY to LA... and back.
