I have another question. Caladbolg II is an arrow made out of sword by Archer's false trace-ing of Caladbolg, right? Then, how on Earth does Gilgamesh possess it in his GoB (he kills Lancer in anime with exactly the same sword) - how can he have a weapon that exists only in Archer's head?!
Don't take the anime too serious. Gil having Caladbold II was either a mistake or fanservice. Nothing else. You will probably get better details in a specialized forum, like Beast's Lair.
It would make sense if he used Caladbolg, but on the other hand - no one knows how Caladbolg even looks like (although I doubt it's spiral). I took notice of something else, both in anime and visual novel; while fighting Berserker (second time), Shiro traces Caliburn and cuts off Berserker's arm.
Trace-ing weakens NP one rank + Only NP-s of A rank and higher can hurt Berserker = Caliburn is ranked EX?!
Hardly. As you said only NP of A rank and above can hurt Berserker. But if there is one think that we know about Caliburn is that is weaker than Excalibur, since it was made to be more a symbol of sovereignty than to be used to actual combat. If you take into account that Shiro's projections are always one rank bellow the original, I would said that his copy of Caliburn was exactly A-ranked while the original was A+. Again check a forum for more details.
For MinoScorpe666, Gilgamesh's Gate contains the original weapons of heroes, even before the items were bestowed upon the heroes. The game says that, and is used as a reason why Gil has everything. Gil pulled out Caladbold II against lancer in the anime is due to a folklore that claims Caladbold is the best weapon against Lancer, despite his having Gae bolg.
Also, Archer can only copy weapons. He can't create any. UBW is a factory of copies. Everything he has is copied, hence the reduction in single rank for his weapons.
actually lancer made a gies in his past life. a gies is like a taboo. the geis stated if his enemy was the weilder of the ulster clan(? i think so or maybe tribe) he would have to admit his defeat to the weilder, meaning he cannot oppose gilgamesh.thats why he did not say anything when gilgamesh captured him using heaven's chain and took out cladbolg.he admited his defeat already.
no cu chulainn(lancer)'s geis is that he must submit to defeat against a Ulster warrior(*ulster is a place in anscient ireland cu chulainn is also born in Ulster) wielding caladbolg. gilgamesh is from uruk(anscient babylon) and archer is japanese(emiya shirou) therefore none of them wielding caladbolg has any effects on lancer. lancer did not admit defeat but how could he do anything when he is binded by enkido
I think you're confusing things. Cúchulainn's geis states that he cannot eat dog meat nor can he refuse a meal offered to him. Cúchulainn did yield to another Ulster hero once; Fergus mac Róich, his foster father and wielder of Caladbolg, on the condition that Fergus would yield the next time they met.
yes i know the actual legend but according to fate the legend is bended so that cuchulainn has this geis for caladbolg. just like in fate kansho and bakuya are a pair of short blades where in the actual legend they are a pair of swords.
It's all over Bittorrent. If you can't use that, too bad then. I had a direct download for the game, but the link is now dead. Been dead for over a year.
Yes, I read that too (I think it's "AnimeSuki" forum), but what does that mean, badly translated Japanese? I heard another opinion, about "waiting" for one of the girls, but then again, it could be just mistranslated.
You mean "Brilliant years"? I think I know what you're talking about... thanks for answer!
If Archer was the one, Then Archer came and told Shirou why he hate's him and why he wants to kill him. But Shirou still thinks dat his ideal isnt wrong then this part comes; "I have no regrets. This is the only path" That does make sense for me XD
But someone sayd that the "one" might be "The world" with who he made the contract with.
And in one manga that I read "The world" was "Rin".
The "I am the bone of my sword" chant was already there in Japanese game in English with Japanese Kanji above it that had "My/His body was made out of swords".
"Waiting for one's Arrival" means nothing its just Engrish. Japanese kanji text above it says "Forging iron on the hill of swords. - 剣の丘で鉄を鍛つ" and that make's a lot more sense at the "True End" of the game.
its true that the english chant and the japanese description doesnt match at all but the chant itself is suppose to reflect the user. lets look at archer's chant. unknown to death nor known to life(saying archer is an anonymous hero not know by living or heroes of the dead).
shirou's unaware of gain nor aware of loss(he is not aware of gains and losses*sacrifaces after he decided this path), waiting for one's arrival(he waits for his future self where he becomes a hero). the chant changed because he met archer before becoming a hero and he is saying that he has no regret for taking this path*i have no regret this is the only path. the chant reflects him compromises reality with ideal(by saying i know its impossible but i'll still take this path with no regrets).
not likely because remember UBW route isnt focused on saber. it focuses on archer and shirou therefore its probably not saber(she is only a side character in UBW, archer/shirou =main character, rin=main female, gilgamesh=main villian)
That was one of the epicest part of the visual novel

Anyone has a translated version of this or at least with Shiro and Gilgamesh's lines subbed?

Play the PC version. It's nearly the same.

MinoScorpe666 3 years ago
Yes, I was talking about Brilliant Years scene; Answer;
"The path is long
Relying on the sounds of the swords echoing far away, the boy heads for the deserted plains"
That fits more with "Forging iron on the hill of swords."

And again about "Waiting for one's Arrival"

I dont believe it was a bad translation.

B0ki 3 years ago
I agree, and it gets even better later ;)
but I have one question, and I would be very grateful if you could answer me:
"...Withstood pain to create many weapons. Waiting for one's arrival..."
Who's arrival is he talking about?
MinoScorpe666 3 years ago
I think he might mean Archer becouse Archer came from a place that exists outside the time axis.
But then again, he should never have know that Archer is coming >.>.
B0ki 3 years ago
I askd at a forum where they translat the game.
"Waiting for one's Arrival" means nothing its just Engrish. Japanese kanji text above it says "Forging iron on the hill of swords. - 剣の丘で鉄を鍛つ" and that make's a lot more sense at the "True End" of the game.
