@Fiorwestcoast(part 2) you say the technology to replace oil has been around for a hundred years?..here in Iceland we generate all of our energy via geothermal and hydroelectric there was a plan to become the worlds first hydrogen economy in the world,,, but it was scrapped due to the realization that the technology does not yet exist. it took America over a hundred years to build up the infrastructure for oil..it will take at least that long, if not longer for alternatives.

If we import 66% of our oil and produce 4%, where does the other 30% come from? The problem is absolutely political. The political system is corrupted by big money. I believe we need to reform how we do things in this country. As an economist I know why we had the collapse. What happened was that Fed Chairman Greenspan was the lap dog of Wall Street. When Interest Rates should have been raised to eliminate the Casino, he let the rate dive. This means more money was pushed into the economy. This tanked the dollar. When Oil and housing prices were inflationary, Greenspan lowered rates when they should have gone up. It was the pure greed and corruption.
I am very educated and as such can see that you have no skills and did not prepare for the life you chose evidenced by your constant moving around and not being able to support yourself.

Humans evolved in small hunter gather communities, I think that's why in our modern welfare warfare society we have no idea how to fix it. But now we live in a country of 400 million with a strong remote centralized government and we as humans have no idea what to do about our society. Personally, I think she's wrong about the OWS movement and that it WILL die out. Who will determine when someone makes enough money? should a janitor make as much as a doctor? also the top 1% pay for 38% of revenue, the top ten pay 68% of tax revenue and the rest pay 3% of tax revenue. while 47% of Americans pay no federal income tax at all. you want something for nothing.

@Fiorwestcoast(part 2) you say the technology to replace oil has been around for a hundred years?..here in Iceland we generate all of our energy via geothermal and hydroelectric there was a plan to become the worlds first hydrogen economy in the world,,, but it was scrapped due to the realization that the technology does not yet exist. it took America over a hundred years to build up the infrastructure for oil..it will take at least that long, if not longer for alternatives.

If we import 66% of our oil and produce 4%, where does the other 30% come from? The problem is absolutely political. The political system is corrupted by big money. These people get in office and pass laws to benefit themselves and their money masters. As far as Iraq goes we can not pull out because when we do, expect Iran to invade. Not just the dollar will collapse but the global financial markets as a whole will that will make 1929 look like candy land. Thank the military industrial complex.

I believe we need to reform how we do things in this country. As an economist I know why we had the collapse. What happened was that Fed Chairman Greenspan was the lap dog of Wall Street. When Interest Rates should have been raised to eliminate the Casino, he let the rate dive. This means more money was pushed into the economy. This tanked the dollar. When Oil and housing prices were inflationary, Greenspan lowered rates when they should have gone up. It was the pure greed and corruption.

It is a big club and you're not in it..and they pass laws through lobbying that benefit them and only them. Humans evolved in small hunter gather communities, I think that's why in our modern welfare warfare society we have no idea how to fix it. But now we live in a country of 400 million with a strong remote centralized government and we as humans have no idea what to do about our society. I think it's a good idea that the occupy movement doesn't have a unified political philosophy because it would be wrong.

Jaklyn, I live in the UK and the Occupy movement is happening now in London, however.......you won't read about it in the papers much and although it was briefly broadcast on the national news, it was only to say that the activists were blocking the entrance to St Paul's Cathedral. Not anything about the reasoning behind the demonstration. I think it's interesting when listening to you stating the media are "controlled" by the big corporations. I have often thought this.
