my friends, pls this is not the real statue/idol of sri padmanabha swamy in trivandrum. This is just a small idol made by a gold smith and he took pictures of this and posted in the web. pls dont create thse kind of false things in peoples mind. iam from trivandrum and i go to temple daily, the vishnu in trivandrum got only 2 hands and not 4. so plsssss.....
We are thankful to the king of Travenkor, Kerala, whose ancestors offered their kingdom and treasure to Lord Padmnabhaswamy!!! They offered every thing to the Lord! True king who surrender to God and got God's blessings for his people- kingdom!
Also we are thankful to those craftsmen who carved such a beautiful idol of Lord Vishnu!
The word "treasure" or the phrase"temple treasure" is a misnomer. It should be called "collection of offerings to the Deity." The act is Daanam or sacred giving. No religion in the world permits the act of taking back something that was given out as a gift o a donation or an offering. That is the central ethical and legal point. Unfortunately, secular law does not seem to "get" it.
Yes, a masterpiece of those days, very very beautifully made. It still feels like a dream that such beautiful artsy pieces were found in that beautiful temple. Amazing Lord Padmanabha!!
@thoostorm4 i donot know if you are aware of the story Lord Vishnu wanted to offer 1008 lotus flowers to the shiv lingam placed near by as the story goes ther e were only 1007 lotus flowers hence Lord wanted to remove his lotus like eye and offer to shiv lingam but MAHADEV immediately presented HIMSELF and prevented LORD VISHNU from doing this sacrifice

Lord Vishnu - Lord Krishna wanted to worship Lord Shive in form of Shivalingam, with 1008 lotus and when he starts puja, Lord Shiva steals one lotus just to testify and when Lord Vishnu finds only 1007 lotus, thne he prepares to offer his eye as it is alos Kamalanayana, then Lord Shiva appears and gives back his lotus .
Lord Shiva also worships Lord Vishnu in form of Lord Rama as in Ramayana

@vj6678 This is the true idol found with treasure. This idol is not for public darshanam but it is found within treasure.
Main idol is different than this. Jai Lord Vishnu.

the secong finger in the right foot adjacent to toe is not broken. You can see the difference in the beginig 0:04 & 0:05.
Its just a shadow while taking a movie of this idol. Its not broken at all! I took magnifying glass just to double check!
