The band never got really popular or noticed, and only had 1 or 2 hit singles, which is a damn shame considering how much potentional they had and how great they were. So, they kept trying new things to try and be more popular... they just happened to screw up with this song. It kind of pisses me off how the lead singer is Rob Zombie's younger brother, yet Rob never once tried to help promote them...

Isn't just confusing when a band changes from one style of music to another, because when I found out about powerman 5000,I heard the song almost dead,and then bomb shell and some of their more metal stuff,and then a little hard rock, and now this...what happened?

Well just keep in mind the name of the album was "Transform" this is one of the shittiest songs on the album. But there are a few that a great. Spider had said he wanted to try to break away from the "space rock" But they ended up going back to their original song after this "experiment". Can take the boy outta space, but cant take the space outta the boy lol.
Different or not, its a good song. Look how much they changed from Tokyo Vig. to Action or Free. .Nobody complained then.You have to put into consideration hes getting older. However I do like the old PM5K!
I think that what most people don't like about this album is that they dropped the cover that they have traditionally used with their music. If you listen to all of their songs, they generally are political/social commentaries, but the old ones were simply hidden under the B-list Science Fiction cover. This album is slightly different in style, but, if I remember correctly, there was a change in the line-up, which is probably why.
Check out their latest release. It doesn't quite redeem this holocaust of an album, but at least Spider's back on the tracks after derailing his train of musical success into a children's hospital full of cancer patients, and their pets... after learning of a cure.
I kinda know what you guys mean, the song deffinantly doesn't have that sci-fi metal feeling to it that powerman has been known for, but i'm not hopping the change is permanant, this deffinantly grew on me though.
Sure they have better stuff, but this tune is fine. PM5K is more than "Bombshell". After all, Rob Zombie did Foxy Foxy, which was a departure. They are two talented brothers, so just pick what you like best and listen to it!

Well, this definitely is not what fans were expecting from PM5K, but good or bad, this is what happens most of the time to bands. The members change, so what they draw their inspiration from changes. If they change as a person deeply enough, the artwork they produce may not even resemble pieces past.
This is the first time I've heard Powerman 5000 in a long while. I honestly don't think it's possible to sell out any more than this. Seriously this a complete 180-degree turn around from quality music.

i like rob zombie's new stuff a lot. werewolf baby, virgin witch, burn, the man who laughs and werewolf women of the SS are all great songs. some of the best of his career in my opinion and i've been a fan for the past 15 years. jesus frankenstein, cease to exist and mars needs women are ok too. i liked tonight the stars revolt from pm5k but thats about it. can't say this song is disappointing because this band is usually disappoints me

what, i happened to like this song, it was a good changeup from earlier work, sometimes, the change is good, so when they go back to the regular stuff, it seems fresher and better.

@WalkingDead6six6 I agree with you NONE. I like their new way but still LOVE their old way. I prefer TTSR by quite a bit but this song is really damn good. I think you might change your mind about this song especially if you hear the acoustic version. Its way BETTER!!!

Well, this definitely is not what fans were expecting from PM5K, but good or bad, this is what happens most of the time to bands. The members change, so what they draw their inspiration from changes. If they change as a person deeply enough, the artwork they produce may not even resemble pieces past.

I don't understand how this is emo. There's nothing in the lyrics about shutting yourself in or blaming yourself. In fact, it sounds more like he's advocating taking advantage of other people when they're in situations like that. "There's money to be made/Off someone else's shame." I almost think this was satirical.
