Noticed a lot of graves are neglected so it gives off the impression that ' its haunted' its sad to see old cemeteries like that go in to bad shapes...love the sounds of the music effects. I thik most of them fell over due from elements of weathers and years of disrepair ...Makes you wonder how ppl respect the dead.
Metal pinning in statue may cause condensation, rusting and movement. The pins may eventually bend or break, and the weight of the stone may naturally break off the arms and hands. I daresay some caused by vandals. Interesting observation. Thank you for ur comment :D
I thought that they might have been made that way, like maybe it was symbolic. Someone told me once that the statues and carvings of angels on graves were made to point up or down according to the character of the "recently deceased" and to signify where they're heading in the afterlife
Yeah it could very well be just a myth but from what I heard it wasnt the family but the stonemasons who were having a bit of a sly dig. yah never know tho
@EVEntially - That's due to breakage, not design. Hands, feet, and noses --anything that protrudes -- are the weakest parts of a statue, and Greek statues over the years have been subjected to a lot of wear and tear. More than likely the hands on the angels in cemeteries are broken when the statues are moved, or damaged by lawn equipment.
Oh meant to add that an inverted cross doesn't always have Satanic links it could mean the Chuch of St Peter who was crucified inverted. Just a thought.
Hiya ..I did notice when I went back quite a few crosses were placed upside dowm..believe they had broken off original stand and just placed like that with no any subversive intentions. Thanx for comment :D Must find out what EMP is???
Well thought there was so put up another vid called 'Demons or shadow people in old cemetery' Was interesting and everybody commenting trying to work out what it was :D
Again I understand you have an interest in other worldly happenings [if this is the correct terminology] as do I, but now I have experienced that grief i can only see my own point of view and i find it slightly unsettling. sorry if you don't agree but i felt the need to comment anyway.
She showed no disrespect in this. It certainly is not a lighthearted treatment of the subject matter. It is a somber piece, and is for some of us, an artful examination of a cemetery from her perspective. It is obvious you are not accustomed to members of the paranormal research community. Generally, we enter a cemetery with reverence and humility. We are not there to party and play. While sensitive to your feelings I feel your negative reaction is based on a misunderstanding of her motives.
You're entirely correct, I'm not accustomed, I'm not undermining the Op's reasoning for filming I'm just offering a different perspective - say for instance someone who had really recently lost a loved one who was buried here may be more irrationally upset then I and take personal offence, I'm not offended as I understand why the Op was there - the only part i was bothered by was the close ups of the graves where names were legible as i would be upset if a family member of mine were shown.
It makes sense what your saying... albeit... in this world there are many things that can offend... unfortunate as it may be there will be no changing that... example, I myself, buried my grandfather 3 years ago in this very cemetery and in all honesty I observed myself looking out for his plot with excitement... what I'm trying to say is, what may be offensive for some may be exhilarating for others... and this video I believe caters to the latter...
Just as a different perspective as i found this video after doing a google search for Camberwell Old cemetery's opening hours - I have to admit i'm kind of upset, my grandparents are buried there together now after my grandmothers death eight months ago and I'd be beyond upset to think someone is walking around potentially filming their headstone so they can post it up on youtube.
Good Creepy Shite, Veronique!! Can't do boats, but made it through The Cloverfield and your vid w/no motion prob. Heart felt, sad and forlorn location. And the music is absolutely beautiful, so fitting; apropos! Mind me asking who and what's playing?I'm always fascinated by and grateful for the things others help us to see(that we miss) once we put our vids up. The haunting music, the gloomy tour, your synopsis and explanation of the inverted cross and the cemetery's history...BRAVISSIMO!-Fran
It moves over to the right side...a black mass of something...check that out that is really weird...can't be a Gravestone in the background...cause that would not move....cool : )))
Where is this cemetery?

Why are the hands of angel statues, usually pointing upward, in cemeteries often broken off?

@EVEntially EMP stands for electromagnetic pulse.

Ok the motion blur looks like the tape has been exposed to a low level EMP but an interesting location. Any reports of paranormal activity...

Invest in a tripod and mix up still video and motion. Too much of one thing is never good, even if that one thing is awesome.
