Typically a heavy duty Alkaline degreaser detergent. These units were invented to replace mineral spirits slovent cleaners.

Would it remove paint and grease down to bare metal on a cast iron intake manifold? If so, I must look further into it.

i use one of those at work for optical cleaning, but man i wish i had one at home to do car part cleaning (even better would be one that was car sized :D )

This is the coolest. I have used one of these cleaners. Everyone that cleans stuff needs one of these. P.S. this is real time. It cleans that fast.
