it lookslike u have too much flow, im not an exert i havent gotten any corals yet, but my fish store said they need flow but not enough to make them move that fast.
CAN you tell me what kind of xenia coral is it is it pom pom xenia or pulsing xenia coral please tell me thanks? korila power head 400 GPH and max jet 400 are fine for xenia corals in a 20 gallon nano right?
your power heads should be fine. That is pulsing xenia. They are very easy to grow. Low or high flow, Low or high light, Xenia grows in any condition.
yea xenia is one of my favs but it is sometimes annoying it grows on everything if you got a healthy tank but who ever said it likes dirty water isnt all the way true :D it has mixed reports some of the most advanced reefers cant even keep it for a week and to some it grows like a weed.
oh yeah, xenia is more like a weed. it can survive in a bucket :). it does not like shipping though, once you bring it home it may take a few days to recover for the transfer but once it get going, it grows like crazy
it can survive in a ten gallon....just cut it back when it gets too big, wont harm it at all. When my xenia attaches to the wall, i just scrape it off and frag it. the stuff is invincible!
are these false or true perculas?

Love it, we have a good sized Xenia and torch coral for our clownfish, they love the torch! They've never touched the Xenia yet.

xenia corals need very clean water right? so 1.024 should be the right water quality for xenia corals?
anthonymovies4 2 years ago
1.025 is better. other param's are more important tho (low nitrate, right pH and Alk, no Ammonia and Nitrite, right calcium, etc..)

pulsing xenia coral must be high on the rocks right to get lots of water movement?
jadenboy48 3 years ago
Not really. Zenia grows in pretty much any condition.

xenia thrives in filthy water, if you have good clean water xenia will look nearly dead
