Most people who boycott stuff just go back to buying them again after a few months. It's really only people with the time and money who get behind these causes. The rest of the world are too busy getting through each day.
Well they use child slaves to pick the cocoa beans, their chocolate is not fair trade. And supplied powdered baby formula to poor families without proper instructions and implying that it is a great form of nutrition on it's own, so there were infections and when the babies got sick the mother's milk was dried up and it was too late to help them.
@MonCherieCherry The child slaves, in Papua, are forced to breed as young as possible. The white overseers force themselves on the children as soon as they are fertile. Consequentially, those fertile the youngest bred the most. Recently, on the plantations a 38 month old girl gave birth! It's disgusting, Kids breeding Milky Bar Kids, what is the world coming to.
@TheEskimosPantry How is it even possible for a 28 month old to get pregnant? You have to have a period before you can get pregnant & I highly doubt that a kid that young could have one!
LadyDeer314, they tried to sue Third World farmers in the middle of a famine because they didn't farm enough coca beans. Apparently they are under the impression that its Stalinist Russia that we live in.
You can find the facts on the Baby Milk Action website. Go to the press release archive and look for the press release dated 7 January 2003.

'Nestlé now labels all non-formula milk products (such as coffee creamer) with explicative warnings such as, "this product is not to be used as a breast milk substitute.'
As for suing Ethiopia, they had every right, it was the fault of the Ethiopian government not nestle.
What a curious post moodini99. Why are you talking about coffee creamer not formula? Could it be you were confused by your briefing to scour the internet leaving pro-Nestle comments? If you want to be talking about coffee creamer you should be looking at peer-reviewed study in the British Medical Journal 9 September 2008 which examines how Nestlé's bear brand logo, which appears to be a mother bear breastfeeding a baby bear has led to misuse of this product. See Update on the links.
Nestle was offered compensation by the Ethiopian government for the nationalisation of a business 27 years before, which Nestle did not even own at the time (it had taken over the company that had owned it). The Ethiopian government was under pressure from the World Bank to resolve these issues. Nestle refused the amount offered and demanded a far greater amount on a very spurious basis, despite the fact Ethiopia was facing famine. For the full story, follow the links.
Hi moodini99, just wanted to know if Nestle aim to put the warnings & instructions on the labelling in the local language? I was in Uganda and Ghana recently and Yes the labels had warnings, instructions for sterilisation and the making of the formula on them but no one there could read them! When it comes to the lives of children who are already at increased risk (even without considering the immunity they recieve through breast milk)I see this lack of localised information as negligent.

If that's the case then you're right. Maybe Nestle should focus their efforts on the bad countries, such as Iran, take them down from the inside, it could be a whole new kind of warfare. lol
I can't post a link, but just search engine "Nestle sue Ethiopian government" and you'll find loads of news articles proving that it is Blatantly true...
so far as I am aware, Nestle aggressively market their powdered baby milk often using underhand and immoral tactics, and lack of information has led to the suffering and death of many babies.
Nestle just brought Prometheus pathology lab for $567 millions. So now get ready for their food products that really make people sick and die.

I wasn't talking about coffee creamer, I was talking about the formula. There is nothing wrong with nestle, they are as ethical as they come.
