THis is great to see Deadly Earnest again..I've long since been back in Texas-usa..But I lived in Sydney in the mid1960s as a kid and loved to stay up to watch Awful Movie..and Creature Feature on friday nights!...
Deadly had a sidekick named "Weirdly Gruesome." They used to do what were later called "anti ads" sending up commercials for wealthy organizations like airlines. Bannerman did not like all of the movies he showed. I can remember him bucketing "Carnival of Souls" which was regarded by some as a cult-classic.
Yes Ian Bannerman is THE original DE the rest are but copies and inferior at that sad to say......

What a let down! I wanted to see the Deadly Earnest of the 1970s of South Australia. He was a legend. Instead all I see is Barry Crock-of-shit.
