ok this is too cute!and who says video games are bad?they actually help with hand eye coordination.i grew up with violent games, and i'm not violent.my dad is actually happy that i stay at home and play video games instead of going out and staying out until early hours in the morning,or bringing random boys home,or out drinking like a lot of other girls are doing.i'm perfectly content at playing my games.
This is also how I plan to teach my kids the fundamentals. None of that "morality" bullshit; keep it plain and simple: cause and effect. Empirical observation > subjective conditioning. "People don't want to be _____!"
Skyrim's actually pretty tame for an M rated game. There's like, 3 decapitations *unless you get the perk* and a few areas with mangled fleshy bodies. Even Oblivion was arguably less tame, with mangled dead bodies dangling down from the ceiling in a hellish environment full of what we'd refer to as dinosaurs and demons.
I think it was a good idea for her parents to let her play Skyrim. It's not scary, sexual or violent (it doesn't have gore, and battle is generally simple) and it might have taught her something valuable.
and the people who think that's bad to let a child play videogames are just retards, come on, they dont need to be prohibited they need to do and to experiment things.
that doesn't mean she will become violent or something, I grew up playing resident evil games
@Fujino00IORI it's a the sublimation of the most basic human instincts. humans are all animals and we need to get it out of our system through any means. so we let it out in a more creative way than lashing out on other people. violent video games are actually good for society. it's just that the very few messed up people make violent video games look bad.
People who want to lecture everyone on how to parent. If you have kids of your own maybe you should stop spending your time on you tube and go parent your own children...and if you don't have kids, then you have no right to say anything!
@Xylena88 Totally agree. When I was kid I was busy playing violent games; games are just games. Just because a kid plays a game made for an older generation doesn't mean they're going to turn into a OLOLOHMGFGHPSYCOHPATH. I think I'd rather have my little girl at home playing video games where she's safe than wandering the streets of this fucked up place we call earth.
Anyway, her reaction at the end was hilarious. Thanks for sharing carlmdouglas. :)
I like how people are analyzing this video like its gonna decide whether that little girl becomes a homicidle maniac or a functional member of society... apperantly psychologist love to come and analyze random youtube videos...
@KalEl600rr Oh look, a little girl who can learn from her experiences, let's take her some were so that we can teach her the *RIGHT* way of learning. From what we say.
There are Disney movies that have murders. PG movies curse, and have violence.
Wow, people. Did you somehow overlook the GAME in video game? I know you miss running from dinosaurs back in the "good 'ol days" but its the 21st century. SHUT UP! She's not even your child.
People mad at this are just jealous that a three year old got to play Skyrim and they still haven't. XD
I played Daggerfall when I was around her age, and Morrowind in my early childhood, and I sure you I am a level-headed adult today. Anyway, this was adorable. I love her little Fus Ro NO'S.
Brilliant and adorable... this should be a valuable lesson to all the nay-sayers to video game violence. Even young ones understand that violence can have bad consequences.."People don't want to be sword" should replace the "Arrow to the knee" meme.
Meaning that, even though she has absolutely no idea of arbitrary concepts such as Good and Evil, she understood that if she "swords" people, they will sword her in response. That means that next time, she will begin to actually "think" about the consequences before acting, to prevent herself from danger. She did not understand that what she did was bad, but that doing it would get her in danger, resulting in her conclusion " People don't want to be sword". A very interesting lesson in life.
What an interesting event. This girl obviously has no knowledge of life and death, which might prove as well that she isn't yet capable of self-recognition, but I do think she is by what she said after slaying the elf. She hasn't because she employs the term "sword" to describe how she murdered the man. The first reaction to the man's death "We did it!", full of innocence and naivety truly demonstrates that she has no idea of the consequences. However, when the guards entered, she understood.
@ginza1420 Sorry but it's not your child to make that judgement. She's obviously just playing around with her parents, I don't see why she must get disciplined for having fun? You disgust me.
@ginza1420 how stupid are you??? shes a kid!! let her have some fun! you want to get on to her for telling off a video game??? what a dumb-ass! hope you dont have kids.....
@Emper0rH0rde No but I'm not sure a 3-year-old has the acuity and life experience to fully appreciate the difference and so IMHO don't think inuring her to violence in a game like this is a good idea.
@StonepayGirl Well, she did say "people don't want to be sword," indicating she realized the consequences of "swording" him. Also, from what I understand, what she usually does on her parents' video game is swim in rivers.
Sure, SOME understanding of consequences of actions but not a full appreciation of the difference. But I know I'm in the minority here. Sometimes I feel like I'm bordering on Amish with my opinions compared some of my friends. But it does make me really uncomfortable seeing kids being exposed to this kind of thing. Just MHO and usually (except for the occasional online rant) it's only my poor deprived kids who suffer the consequences of my fuddy-duddy views!

@Squeaky4CC I'm so glad I can piss you off, the more you shelter your children the more they will not be able to deal with real life. Real Life out in the wide open big world is unpredictable, cruel and completely apathetic. I would rather my child experience something at my side than out in the world where I cannot guard them. If my 18 year old son wants to have a beer, I would much rather he have one with the old man than at a party getting arrested and who knows what else.
Let me repeat this for those willfully ignorant, there is exactly ZERO scientific evidence that violent images directly create violent people. The only studies that shown any connection have been very projecting, biased and agenda driven. Besides there is an adult (im assuming her father) in the room with her monitoring what she does. So have a latte and chill.
@KookyMc I see nothing wrong with this. She learned that attacking people with swords is a bad idea. As long as she grows up knowing games aren't reality, there won't be any issue.
@KookyMc I see nothing wrong with this. She learned that attacking people with swords is a bad idea. As long as she grows up knowing games aren't reality, there won't be any issue.
@potatohead93 I played Diablo as a little kid, and that was an M rated game. I loved going into the bowels of hell as a magician and incinerating all my enemies. The real issue is making sure the kids can differentiate between reality and games. As long as they know the game isnt like real life, there isn't much cause for alarm.

@KookyMc I see nothing wrong with this. She learned that attacking people with swords is a bad idea. As long as she grows up knowing games aren't reality, there won't be any issue.

sorry to be a debby downer here but violent video games at the age of 3? let's hope she doesnt develop psychopathic tendencies
