  • Awesome spaceship console, where did you get the materials?

  • @Kaiju17 It's mostly found stuff. The console itself is wood fibre board. Most of the buttons came from a local company taking care of scrap electronics and computer parts. The flip switches were bought from a car part retailor, and another set of buttons from a boat part supplier. Other stuff were just plastic boxes and toy parts glued on. It didn't cost a lot to make.

  • @bluworm I am trying to make my own scifi short film series, hope one day I can work with such a great artist in stop motion and effects

  • it looks like you guys had a really great time with this... it looks like a fun project! I'm inspired!

  • @BlackRRRhino Yep, we did have a lot of fun! But it was also hard work. The shooting took a couple of days -the editing.. a bit longer. I'm glad that I've inspired you :)

  • Technology is not an obligation to how someone expresses themselves. It's simply an art form and I find this very inspiring.

Working on my own short movie just for the joy of practice. As for what, well, won't tell you cause I'm a selfish b*****d. ;)

  • @Dinoslay FX is an art form unto itself, and it's also a very powerful storytelling tool. Sometimes an effect doesn't measure up, but you can still get your point through.

The only way of working on films at this level is for your own practice and education, and to get some fun out of it. Those factors are just about enough for me to get me going on a project nowadays! Looking forward to your short film :)

  • Dude.You're so talented.

I wanna be an actor for you.

You should sign up for that show Face-off on SyFy. Truly good work !

  • @composerzartan Thanks! If you came to Sweden some day, I'll sign you up as an actor in a project :) I hate talent competitions, so I probably wouldn't fit very well into Face-off.

  • Brilliant slideshow and film clips showing your amazing creativity blueworm, thankyou once again for sharing your talents with us your an inspiration

    to me.

    blessings to you all

    bernie

  • @mujawooja It's my pleasure, Bernie. If my work can inspire others to get creative, than I've done well enough. Blessings to you too, my friend :) :) :)

  • Very Cool!

  • @GrisDismation Glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Very inspiring work, keep it up! The two water guns glued together to make a space ship remind me of a doctor who where they glued together two hair dryers to make a space ship!

  • @BattyNos1922 Thanks :) Actually, I think the hairdryer spaceship was originally built for Blake's 7, but it probably ended up in Doctor Who as well. I remember the guy who built the ship was terribly embarrassed about it. I thought it looked fine.

  • It's awesome to see how you made this movie! I have a few ideas that can be applied to this type of medium, but I lack some resources, like actors.

  • @FandSproduction Actors do make a movie, don't they? :) But you can use puppets as your actors.

  • This is truly epic. Have you considered using bright green screen instead of the blue? Maybe you would get better contrast. Just a hunch of mine...

  • @adfdasfadfdaaaa I actually have a green screen as well. Both backgrounds are painted fiberboard, with very smooth surfaces. I find that the green can sometimes "bleed" into the object put in front of it. And I'm not just talking about the edges. Puppets with grey or very dark colors can turn pixelly in a strange way. I'm not experiencing any trouble with the blue background, so that's the one I'm most often using.

  • this was brilliant! I liked how you used a mixture of stop motion, and star wars style effects for the spaceships. the movie itself looked like something that would be on television! this was some really great work!

  • @kkmoviechannel Glad you liked it :) I actually had a friend move the silver spaceship around on a stick, but in the end the stop-motion animation actually looked better. I also used a lot of stills of the models animated as 2D objects in After Effects.

  • I refuse to believe you are finding it hard to get contracts! This stuff is SO awesome!!!

  • @Vortex42 Well, I live in Sweden, which is the rectum of the creative world. There is no work for me here, and most other parts of the movie world seems to be permanently fixated by CGI effects. If I had gone to Hollywood in the early 1970's I think I could've stood a fair chance of being hired. But I really appreciate that people, like you, seem to enjoy what I do. It always encourages me to keep up my work.

  • @bluworm Richard, I moved to Denmark last year in order to build a film studio here. I'm currently seeking out a suitable farm to convert. It shouldn't be terribly long till I can get started on that... So maybe we can work together at some point. I'll see you around on Facebook (Paul McConnochie).

  • @Vortex42 Hi, Paul! It would be lovely to collaborate on something eventually. I wish you the best of luck with putting together your project. See you here and on Facebook!
