I was there in 1968 and your choice of music offends me. Sorry - but it just does. On one hand I realise that we fought for the freedom that lets you choose this crap music, but on the other hand I feel you show great insentivity and lack of respect by putting music from YOUR time to something that happened when I was a teenager. In a nutshell this music really pissed me off!
@sasmanwayne "lack of respect by putting music from YOUR time to something that happened when I was a teenager." that just says how ignorant you are about music. Sorry, but 40 years is a blink, both musically and culturally, specially musically. Also, its a 'tribute', it means he is projecting an ethical perspective of approval, so he uses his musical sense of approval. If he was an historian, as a presentist, he would add ambiguous music, but he's not.
It's not that easy. The wave of the year 1968 reached all countries...In France too, there were things to fight for, and there were things to be angry about...It's not because there were WORSE things elserwhere that it has no value, on the contrary: it shows something really important about year 1968!
The actions of the police disgust me. I admire the young people of France who have the guts to stick it to a crazy and unjust law that give way too much power to the employers.
Give 'em hell French youth! From an Australian buy!
I agree completely. The jusxtaposition of the images is trying to equate May 1968 to spring 2006. Worse, for the unknowing viewer, they are going to think that 2006 was somehow an extension of unfinished business in 1968. This clip does nothing but mislead and attempt to legitimize the often senseless destruction that I witnessed on several occasions during the protests.
yah the music is crap.
