  • Chiggy von Richthofen... Not fair to call a futuristic plane like that. Otherwise great series.

  • First time ever I didnt skip the add LOL

  • Is it just me or do the hammerheads really look like Sukhoi Su-47?

  • 1:57 This one is for you Winslow!!

  • yea i never get why a season 2 didnt come to light. such an amazing show, script, characters, element all came together and meshed.. but like someone said starship troopers was coming out anda movie about the future regarding nazi's seemed more plausible... yes nazi's fled to argentina after ww2.. setting for starship.. buenos aires... uniforms gray like the nazis.. even the rank insignia was similar.. the bird for the sstroopers reminded me of hitler bird... haha

  • I need season 2 SAAB!!!

    Poland Fan

    Gwiezdna Eskadra :]

  • @19xNiebieskix20

prawdziwą przyczyną braku sezonu 2 było "pojście za daleko" w scenariuszu i rezyserii. Konkretnie chodziło o odcinek " Who Monitors The Birds".

  • Think about 1 quote when i see that clip:

Well, I don't think our maker wants to hear from me right now.

Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

And when I get back, I'm going to drink a bottle of scotch as if it was Chiggy Von Richtofen's blood and celebrate his death.

  • Can you make one to Johnny Cash's RING OF FIRE?

  • The Hammerhead would kick the crap out of a Cylon Raider or a Colonial Viper!

  • @KickethAsseth - For me, the best moment of the "Who Monitors the birds" episode was when he tore up his Honorable Discharge papers before moving to exfiltration. It seems that he realized that he had been fighting to survive since he was hatched, and that was what made him human. To accept the discharge and quietly go away to a civillian life would be accepting the Angel of Death he had resisted thus far. Awesome Epic Episode!

  • @SgtRum I love your take on it! It totally headfraks me how she seems to look alot like Vansen/Kristen Cloke, could it be a sign of things to come as in "Tell Our Moms We Did Our Best", her ship is shot down b4 Wang dies, i kno its a sketchy theory cause damphousse is unconscious in the passenger seat, as far as working on a script for it, I'd pretty much say that the whore of death would definately be in there!

  • @kickethasseth, I don't think it would work for all of the cast. The AOD in "Who Monitors The Birds" was a personal thing for Hawkes. Like I noted, Hawkes had been fighting for his life since he was hatched. All of the individual carachters had a moment of truth. Nathan losing his girlfriend and trying to get her back, Hawkes almost being murdered for asking questions, Shane's hate for the silicates, McQueen's Dogfight, Wang's Confession, Damphouse's ESP.

  • @kickethasseth, If you want to write something freaky, how about this... Damphouse and Vansen survive the crash on the Chig homeworld. Damphouse is in a coma, but Vansen is severely damaged. They are found by the Chig civilian authorities who as a gesture of kindness for not killing the Chig hatchlings, force the silicates to repair Vansen with silicate technology, limbs, eyes, organs etc. and stabilize Damphouse who remains in a coma. CONTINUED NEXT POST..

  • @kickethasseth, CONTINUED... The Chig civilian authorities learn that the silicates have a "Copy" of Wang's DNA and memory imprint which was recorded during his interrogation, and use human cloning technology to clone a copy of him with his memory imprint, but the memory imprint process is not perfect, memory bits and pieces are missing and he must re-learn who he was (like Spock did in Star Trek). SEE CONTINUED PART 3...

  • @kickethasseth, CONTINUED PART 3... On the saratoga, it is learned that the Silicates and a Rogue Chig group planted the bomb in the ambassador chambers to sabotage the negotiations and keep the war ongoing. Damphouse is seen wandering seemingly confused through the ships corridors. This is her disembodied self who when she realizes what has happened to her goes and spies on the rogue military elements and finds a way to relay vital intel to the Earth forces. SEE PART 4...

  • Comment removed

  • @kickethasseth, PART 4... Damphouse's vital intel info yields that the Rogue Chig elements and the silicates were successfully working together on hybrid Human-Chig-Silicate super soldiers, and used the prisoners from the telus colony, who by now are well on their way back to EARTH! The Chig civilian authorities are ashamed and horrified to learn this, and pledge to help Earth forces stop the super soldiers. And now Humans and Chigs fight side by side to stop the impending attack. SEE SUMMARY.

  • @SgtRum when i first came to imagine what i'd do with the script, i actually came to something very similar myself, sillicates working with a radical chig factions turn on the peaceful chig that made peace with earth, but what I was thinkin was, have the sillicates work with the chigs but using In Vitroes as their soldiers, Cooper Hawkes would be the Mqueen of the group, Nathan would have retired and settled on vesta with his woman, its just so damn hard, frakin battlestar did it all lol

  • @kickethasseth , it may sound like an upset aging them a bit but, out of all the marines it felt like it was established in the first couple of episodes that with Hawkes bein a tank he has more to prove, and that he himself is just like Mcqueen, he's a lifer, he knows what it's like to be genetically engineered to fight a war (which would make idea A, tha much more juicy), he lost his friends (and would be the position of training a group just like them) and it would stay true to it's Heinlein

  • @SgtRum routes, also I feel that the great thing about the chigs in essence was their mystery, they're from earth? but theyre not from earth, they've visited earth? I loved the native american direction (Naa Ja Yee? (is it) lol) , which could tie into all sorts of old world apocalypses and doomsday predicitions, for earth it's a shooting war but for the chigs they would probably have alot more insight into why the war is waged in the first place

  • @kickethasseth, It is suggested in the series that the Chigs first encountered the Silicates, who convinced the Chigs that humans were encroaching on their territory. This enabled the Silicates to manipulate the Chigs into attacking. The River of Stars episode seemed to indicate to me that there would eventually be a truce between Humans and Chig, and they were on that path in the last episode till the bomb detonated at the negotiations. The Chigs were indeed aware of the Human/Chig kinship.

  • @kickethasseth, The Chigs knew that we "Evolved Our Separate Ways". But we humans had to discover this for ourselves. Were it not for the Silicates, we may not have discovered it for a long while.

  • @kickethasseth, SUMMARY.. Like I said it is kinda freaky, you can clip and paste as needed, but its a good base to start with and accomplishes 2 things: 1) Ends the war with the "Real" Chigs. 2) It keeps the action going in the form of the original plot of Nathan trying to get his girl back! Maybe you can write in that the super soldier conversion process is partially reversible. I thought it would be ironic that Vansen who hates the Silicates, has her life saved by Silicate technology. N-Joy!

  • Freakin %@$#!*&^ YouTube Posting Form! It never showed that my post had gone through!!

@KickethAsseth - I think the "Whore of death" is Cooper Hawke's impression of what the Angel of Death is, and represents moments in the battle when he thought of, or started to give up fighting to survive.

  • Freakin %@$#!*&^ YouTube Posting Form! It never showed that my post had gone through!!

  • This show was just awesome!! Fox didn't know what they had!

  • @KickethAsseth, I Second cvmex. You make it and I'll pay to go see it AND buy 5 copies of the DVD!

  • @KickethAsseth I Second cvmex. You make it and I'll pay to go see it AND buy 5 copies of the DVD! "Who Monitors The Birds?" was one of my favorite episodes of the show. I loved the concepts of artificial life and cloning in Space Above And Beyond. The idea that one sentence of programming "Take A Chance" could set of such a chain reaction is amazing.

  • @SgtRum "Who Monitors The Birds" was fuckin amazin! I still didn't get the "Whore Of Death" character featured in it ...but they never got the chance to complete the mythology anyhoo

  • when i was a child this was advertised on bbc2 n i always wanted to watch it...but it was always on too late, then i got the graphic novel n ten years later i got to watch it, n i swear to god to this very day, as a scriptwriter, i will make the motion picture a reality, morgan and wong are my idols!

  • @kickethasseth

Let me tell you brother, you make it and I'll pay to watch it!

    A SAAB Fan!

  • @kickethasseth are you still working on it? Because I would go see it.

  • @kickethasseth rumour out there is they were all set to do it, but it was right when Starship Troopers came out and it had a bit more sex appeal in it so they went with it instead. Because Lord knows we very well can't have TWO kickass sci-fi movies come out back to back or even at the same time! That would just upset the balance of everything...

  • worst special features of any dvd lol great series

  • It was mid 90's, they are not going to be great, for the time though they were decent.

  • The "flying" episodes were easily some of the best sci-fi shows ever. "Space Above and Beyond" was so true in the flying episodes that it was like a million times more honest to the flying credo and fighter pilot mindset than many wanna be "actual" flying films / movies.

"The Right Stuff" - They nailed it.

  • Just watched this episode on DVD, awesome.

Got the series on Amazon for $20 :)

  • I love this song : )

  • scifi shouldve pick it up again... maybe with a new crop of actors having the 4 survivors be squadion commanders or something... i mean look how long BSG rocked it

  • Who Monitors the Birds

This is one of my favorite TV Shows ever ;-)

    Shame on Fox for cancelling

  • Get some marine! Hoorah! God I loved this show!

  • I did too. I wish they hadn't cancelled it after the first season. It was a really high quality show. i guess it just sometimes comes down to luck with some shows.

  • Luck and the poor taste of the moronic majority who hold sway over the nielsens.

  • Good point. I wish they would make a movie or possibly bring it back again.

  • I hope so. It would be sweet if Ronald D Moore could bring it back the way he did BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.

  • That would be nice. It's not very often that a good quality Science Fiction Show comes along. It (Space Above And Beyond) ranks right up there with the Star Trek franchise as far as quality goes.

  • it's Oooorah!!!

  • lol we would if we could dude fo sho LOL
