You know, this is precisely why I want X-Plane; however in the demo my joystick doesn't work (AND NO THIS IS NOT THE LIMITATION) - so I am afraid buying it since I use linux and don't want to be stuck with the keyboard-only bug.

Irony is that in the settings, X-plane detects the axis etc nice and truly. However googling the issue nobody else seems to have it ...

So we're looking at another window$ only application again :*(

@IndianSettler I might not be the best qualified to answer considering I've only played the demo and have a VERY long history with M$ Flight Simulator.

I've bought EVERY M$ FS, and I must tell you, it always lacked what X-plane delivered. For example, in xplane, the reactions to control surfaces and external forces (wind, control surface deflection) is profound. This gives a much greater feel for the real physics simulation. M$ FS disappoints in this respect, but might give you better visuals.

This video has sold me. I have been watching other videos about FSX and Xplane comparissons and non I have found were big one way or the other, but seeing this video and the graphics of the Grand Canyon I am sold. I am still an FSX fan, but I am going to go and purchase Xplane 9 now.

I hope you havent got used to VC cockpits then. Only a few of them have VC/3d cockpit in x-plane.

And you are all alone in the x-plane world exept for animals (thats a cool feature). I like alot of things in the x.plane, but i need working VC, and would love just 2-3 ai planes....
