i understand, but stockton is the NBA's all time leader in both assists and steals. to me, those two stats are the mark of a good point guard. but you do bring up some pretty good points, and postseason encounters say a lot. but in this case, i still feel that stockton is a better player, regardless of their postseason encounters, because he accomplished more in his career than payton did. again, i still love your appreciation for the glove.
i dunno man, payton is one of the best pgs there ever was, his defense was remarkable...his DPOY and his 9 time all defensive first team selcetions are a testament to that. Rodman, when he was on his game, could give him a run for his money when you stack up their prowess on defense. That said, Gary is probably one of the greatest players in the nba to retire with no ring.
ghettofetto is correct, highlight films should definitely include more slowmo clips which include walking around in black and white. I think doing that definitely makes the film better, especially havin it for 1:38 seconds.

i understand, but stockton is the NBA's all time leader in both assists and steals. to me, those two stats are the mark of a good point guard. but you do bring up some pretty good points, and postseason encounters say a lot. but in this case, i still feel that stockton is a better player, regardless of their postseason encounters, because he accomplished more in his career than payton did. again, i still love your appreciation for the glove.

i dunno man, payton is one of the best pgs there ever was, his defense was remarkable...his DPOY and his 9 time all defensive first team selcetions are a testament to that. I mean hes the only PG to EVER win the DPOY. Dont get me wrong, stockton and kidd are good defensive players, stockton being scrappy and in ur face and kidd beign solid, but they're no payton. And dont forget GP was a stellar offensive player whos a much better shooter then kidd and clutch.

I dunno about best this or best that. I don't think it's wrong to say Dumars was a better on-ball defender or that there are better PG's in the history of the game. He wasn't the fastest or the strongest. He wasn't a leaper. His jump shot was never great. One thing though. I'd put Gary's heart and Gary's fire up against anyone. No one played with more ferocity, no player ever fought harder to beat you. No one. That's a fact.

I guess having an opinion makes me stupid. Yes calling him average was a little extreme, but he's not the defender Alvin Robertson, Joe Dumars, or Sidney Moncrief was. All 3 who were about the same size as Payton. And he believe me he's not that much better than Kidd if at all. Seriously what is he better than Kidd at? One-on-one it's a toss up, I've seen Kidd frustrate Dwyane Wade. Kidd is just as good getting steals, and is a much better defensive rebounder than Payton ever was.

Rodman, when he was on his game, could give him a run for his money when you stack up their prowess on defense. if u compare jordans finals stats from all his othere championships 2 the 1 vs seasttle u see high much points he scored & how much assists he had 2 go with high fg% but vs the sonics they are much much lower compared 2 the stats from his other finals apperances payton did a great defensive job
