You need the latest version of the program (current download link points to the right version, I think), and then you need to modify a settings file (constants.txt) before loading the program. It's only really useful for recording video - with many creatures at once the frame rate drops to slide-show speed. It only looks normal afterward because I combine individual snapshots to make the YT videos. I can explain more if you still want to try it.
I was wondering the same thing as BeekerSqueakers. I would like to try putting many of them together too. How is it done?
Also is there any way that I can create a creature (telling it what segments belong to what parent segment and the segment proportions) and then evolve it to learn how to move around in its body? If not, maybe that's one of the things you could include in another version for the creature bodies window.
I'm tired just by watching them bouncing all around... it sure need a lot of energy to move like this all the time.
That's a question I wanted to ask you, why you didn't consider the option of energy efficiency in your evolution simulator software? Or you did consider this as a non-factor for the short period of time these creatures live in the simulations anyway.
It's a good point - one that several people have suggested. Some kind of penalty for use of energy is something I should eventually implement. It would probably have a profound effect.
The reason it's not there now is just that I had never considered it at first.

This is probably a stupid question, but how do you make to where there are a lot of creatures at one time?
