  • Great song,I saw this group in concert, they tore it up!

  • this is the SHIT ! thank you EinahChild

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE SONG WAS IN THE END!!!

  • A staple to my 80's playlist:)

What did I ever do to deserve listening to crap on the radio and my school dances? today's music lost it's original meaning seriously, rap should have never of gone mainstream, raps isn't music it's druggie shit

  • 2 people must be rhianna and neyo fans lol

  • This is another classic song from the 80's, "This is for you" that doesn't get any credit...Usually for people who remember the group "The System" only two songs come up: Don't Disturb this Groove" and "You are in my System"...but this one here is a true classic...The 80's was the best.

  • TODAYS Rnb IS SHIT!!

  • @MrLeebo123 I agree!!!!!!!

  • Such an awesome song !!! This video is so cool !!!! Great memories of the mid 80s. It makes me wish I could jump right into this video and be part of it !! Thanks for posting !!!

  • Sure wish music today would sound as good as this very awesome classic from back in the day!!!

  • Such a great song! Sad to say NO one does it like this anymore

  • I was about 20 then. All those memories! At that time this was one of those songs that could make you dream away. At that time your whole life still ahead! Simply awesome composition!!

  • That white dude I awesome with the keyboards:D

  • What can I say..... "NOTHING COMPARES TO THE 80'S MUSIC" Not by any means. 80's music is KING! This song... Simply.. The BEST! LOVE IT!

  • wow. forgot about this one! great song. 80's videos; sunsets.

  • very.very FUNKY track.........luv the vocals.....I was performing with several funk /R&B recording acts.

  • The 1980's was the best time in music. This was popular in Texas back in '85. I will always cherish those memories. Thank God for Youtube!!

  • Simply class........

  • what a jam! oh my god!!!

  • 2 people felt that this is not for them

  • So right agree with you all, the haircuts the synths the clothes, yep Im the only one I know that dresses that way today, Its as if the 80s isnt in the minds of people of today, Im talking people over 40, I think the you guys stateside have always been ahead of us Brits, i wish I could visit the states as I could hook up with some people on my wavelength.

  • @Secretaryboy really? that's the style here in america now for some...."80s" people are going around with flattops too

  • Agree wandermusic27:) I would have crawled on my stomach-lol:) Oh my goodness, timeless.

  • I love this song----why can't I find this on any MP3 downloads. If anyone knows where I can purchase this download, please let me know. This song is timeless.

  • @concep32000 try youtube downloader from download dot com.

  • @concep32000 I have this on the ipod, you can download it off of Itunes!...

  • Heard this first time in the radio about an year ago. I think this is my favourite song ever, I was born in '85, almost feels like going back to the womb.

  • Wow... so nostalgic. just listening to the sounds of this music brings back so many memories and feelings of pure innocence and the freedom of not knowing what i didn't know - music and my childhood was the best! Thanks for sharing this!

  • I felt in love to this record, wicked!!

  • remember this song as a child

  • Wonder if David Frank and Jeff Lorber ever hooked up for any keyboard collabs back then? lol.

  • yes they did. Jeff Lorber's 1985 album "Step by Step" was produced in collaboration with The System. Listen to the song "Best part of the night" and you'll be jamming to David Frank's synthesizers and Jeff's keyboard.

  • What video was that that was following this song? It sounded interesting for what it's worth.

  • @upurs007 That video was by The Jesse Johnson Revue (ft. Sly Stone) - "Crazay". BIG R&B hit around that time, that also crossed over onto the Pop Charts.

  • This is from the Sweat album, not Pleasure Seekers. Cool song.

  • in part.....filmed atop of the Intrepid...W. 43rd St. and the West Side Highway.....

    memories

  • Put together so well. Wow. Miss the 80's. Never will be music like it again in this life time We really were so lucky to have all of them in our lives back them, They gave us Great music, Great voices and really nice memories, so pretty. Thanx. x.o

  • @mystictraveler17 Definetly!!!!!!! MUIC like this will NEVER!!! BE re-created,simply because the groups ,bands of today lack talent&imagination, just listening to this again after a long time makes the hairs on my neck stand up,goosebumps are appearing aswell....Oh well,as you so well put,we just have to savour wonderful memories,of GOOD TIMES AND MUSIC GONE BY.....

  • @oldrbest -I totally agree with with brah. i'm 44 and i grew up on true r&b,funk, soul, & 80's hip-hop. music back then had so much more talent, substance, creativity, passion, love, and a damn meaning. with the exception of a few artist today, music is watered down, meaningless, me,me,me, my,my,my bullshit. it's all about big asses, pretty faces, half naked babes, cats sagging with no shirts on,grabbing their dicks, ect. no damn talent at all, just image. thank god for the 70's,80, early 90's.

  • @str8outtatexas1 I am 43 years of age myself and totally relate to your comments-I graduated from High School in '85 and remember great music like this.

  • @str8outtatexas1 I hear ya brah,but....just to play devils advocate.....from big asses to no shirts also describes some MAJOR talents of the 70's & 80's, like..Rick James(no shirts, grabbing his,me,me,me),Prince(no CLOTHES..lol, grabbing his ,my,my,my), Their Girl Groups, Vanity 6 & Mary Jane Girls(pretty faces, half naked babes), & from Teddy's no shirt to Chaka's big ass, from Mavin's "Let's Get It On" to Minnie's "Inside My Love". PT.1

  • @razeworld68 exactly. sexuality aint nothin new.

  • When this song came out i must have listened to it every day for 6 months, Top 10 songs of all Time without a doubt

  • I want his HAIR!!! LOL

  • misss the 80s this group is fire,,,,baptize the beat was hottt too

  • This is in rotation on my mp3 right now!

  • WOW, I LOVED THIS TUNE AND IT STILL SOUNDS GREAT

  • @joyceayoful SURE DOES!!!!!

  • the worst thing is I bought this new on release

and it still shits on most modern day RNB ( RAWNASTYBASTARDS)

  • didn't know there was a video thanks... have heard this in so long.

  • CLASSIC!!

  • Reminds me of my senior year in H.S. This and Who do You Love Love by Bernard Wright were my absolute favorites.

  • wow what a great song. Superb music, touching and clever lyrics. and the video. I feel the urban touch and the regular situations that shows the video. Nowadays music is crap. Lyrics are trash, and the video.... smh those videos are cheap with the overused slow motion and they show us some fancy luxury trash and plastic broads... it's ain't real anymore... how sad

  • Wish i was born earlier...i may be only 17, but i love The System

  • @EFFYOU147 I feel ya T y from DC

  • I totally forgot about this song!!! I loved this when it came out. Good times. I wish I could find this on CD. Thanks for posting this.

  • I LOVED THIS SONG!!! One of my all-time faves from the 80s. I spent years searching for the name of the artist and then when I found it, more years spent searching to buy the old album! I agree, 80s R&B was the best. R&B music of today filled with rap is not appealing at all. Bring back the 80s! Honk! Honk!

  • Absolute Class - amongst the best of the 80s

  • whats happened too black music? ;-( rhianna usher neyo and the rest of that POP R n B crap

  • @MrLeebo123 Music today really sux ass

  • @MrLeebo123 fuck you! Justin Beiber is takin black music to a whole nother level!

  • I still LOVE THIS SONG!! What happened to The System?

  • @HoneyEyes7 They released an album 10 years ago call E.S.P. (Electro Soul Pioneers). Check it out if you haven't.

  • this is the soundtrack of my life!

  • Excellenttt!!!!

  • The year 1985 was a great year for me and this song was one of my favorites! Wish I could have at least 2 days from that year to do over! Man, would I make the most of them!!! There is nothing like this anymore! Just enjoy the memories! Thanks for a wonderful post! Peace!

  • @wandermusic27 to know then what I know now, I would have tip toe throught those years. Fantastic time, went by to fast.

  • I see Sly Stone and Jesse Johnson was the next song "Crazy for You".I used to like that too.

  • One of my favorite songs of all time. The system doesn't get their due credit, but I listen to this everyday along with Don't Disturb this Groove.I always think about an old flame when I hear this.

  • Dont Disturb This Groove is one of my all time faves. I played the album to death!

  • THIS IS STILL THE JAM

  • This band is the most underated treasure in the mid 80's. They were so ahead of there time people did not know what to do with there music. Mick's vocals were clear that could reach into the heavens. The collaberation of music really takes your heart and soul to a different level. This dual definitiely influenced many muscians that wont admit it. Long live there music

  • @Legendkiller4849 so true. there are a lot of 'hidden gems' and underrated artists that i listen to and it makes me mad (in a way) because i feel like they didn't get their due, or credit ...and most of the time these artists sound just as good, if not better than the more known ones. well, i guess that's just the way it is

  • Love this song so much still 20+ years later

  • This song sounds the same to me like I was listen to it for the first time. That's when u know you experience real music...A classic.

  • Fantastic track. It seems some are having trouble getting this. Theres a cd which contains 2 of there albums ' x-periment' and 'The Pleasure Seekers' which has this track, it also contains the classic track 'It Takes Two' cd number is Wounded Bird Records WOU 146 available from Amazon etc.

  • These dudes exemplify the sound of the times...B'more Md Can't get enough

  • Great song & great video. This was back when music & music videos were entertaining & had a lot more class than the stuff that's out today.

  • Another great & underrated track from a time long gone by. Thanks so much for putting this one. Makes me feel like a teenager all over again.

  • this is sunroof music too hot

  • the futuristic sound from the past, were did we go wrong, we were making such great progess, man this jam used to go off I remember listening to this every friday on my way to the city shit this was way back in 85 or something, thanks for the post this music will never die

  • Stupid major labels went Hip-Hop 'round 1998 & sent R&B/Soul underground...

  • Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh....this is what I call music

  • Wow!This is REAL MUSIC!Its one of their lesser known classics.

  • Ah this is such a great track. Thanx for posting it! This may sound like a stupid question but were The System a group from the US? FAB regardless!

  • Yes, The System was from New York City.

  • Although they're from the US, they also produced a lot of European acts during their heyday! Check out my interview lead singer Mic Murphy on my channel.

  • thx einah for sharing this

  • The System ROCKED!!! Digital-funk at it's best...

Ahhh the 80's...among a lot of things musical, the the 80's was the decade of the Fairlight synth!

  • class tune from back in the day..love it.

  • This song is hot please respond to me and show me other hot 80's love yall peace out

  • this is really takes me back, not to knock some of the artist out today but music in the time line of songs like this had real character and heart........but thats just me

  • The Lead Singer looks like Lloyd..guy that sings "get it shawty"...lol.

  • why is this song so hard to find? it was a hit for them so what's goin' on? i can't find it on itunes or nothin'. only here.

  • if u download "The Pleasure Seekers" album, you will find it there...and I can guarantee if you do...you will not stop playing the entire album for at least a week - it's that strong...

  • i need to yell at itunes and tell them to get this. there is also a remix for "your in my system" w/ prodigy from mobb deep. can't find that one either.

  • ...3 things you can do, thetzone....., #1, you could scour the local used cd/vinyl stores in your local hood - but that may be like finding a needle in a haystack; or #2, find out the record label of "The Pleasure Seekers" and get on thier website and order it from them directly IF they have it in stock; or #3, yell at iTunes and patiently wait for them to finally get it....much success in finding a classic r&b rug cutta'...

  • ...also, like an earlier suggestion by someone else...try ebay or amazon,...just a thought

  • GOOD MUSIC IS HARD TO FORGET.

  • "The System" was way ahead of its time...made memorable music! Thanks for the video!

  • bad tune

  • Was played many times and used in dutch soul show mixes with ferry maat. Brings back exact memories

  • The music was pretty much ...bad those days. Mic Murphy, David Frank kept me going though.

  • Bringin'hell-in a good way! I remember DANCING all night to the system and not thinking i got played--ah, innocence!

  • that bass is hittin - '87 style

  • this guy can really sing. this song is comparable to their cover of you are in my system

  • This group originally did "You are in my System." Robert Palmer's version was a remake.

  • Robert Palmer covered "Your in my System" which was originally by the system.

  • This music is soo timeless! It brings back such good, lighthearted memories of my childhood.

Does anyone have their Rhythm and Romance album? I've been trying to find it everywhere!

  • Try ebay or amazon..they usually have the best selection.

  • I did see it on both of those sites. I was actually hoping someone would have it and could send it to me through email. But thanks for the advice in any case!

  • Ahhhhh!!! pure, freedom, no drama, issues, driving across the country in the convertable with this playing loud. no bull... garbage songs. Just clean fun love songs...man this bring back memories...

  • This jam takes me back to mid 80's when I used to go to Oasis (religously on a Sunday eve). This was C.J Carlos's anthem!

  • Big up CJ Carlos!

  • The memories of the 80's flood back with this song ! Love it. :-)

  • Any Idea where I can find the Video for Dont Disturb This Groove?

  • This song just makes me stop in my tracks, it makes me reflect on the earlier years. This takes me back to when I was trying to find myself, find love, and how to manage in this crazy world. Im a true 80s baby....

  • Yes, the 80's rocked. The music was untouchable compared to this crap that some listen to today, I remember this one from BET while I was stationed at Ft. Knox back in 1985-1986! Oh, the memories..............................

  • That's when NYC was slammin club wise ...

  • great singing voice. never paid attention to it before

  • the synth programming is absolutely awesome

  • It sure is. That synth is jammin

  • ...david frank had/has some skillz...i would love to hear what he's bringin' to the table now...tha' man's got SOUL....

  • He co-wrote Christina Aguilera's "Genie In A Bottle" & both of Diddy's teen girl group Dream's hits "He Loves U Not" & "This Is Me".

  • 4 reel???? nice, that Aguilera cut had some flava..., i'm not familiar w/ those Dream cuts;...what about somethin' new from Mic and him?

  • Chuuuuuune!!!!!

    Young, free & Sinlge.

    Lagos 1985

  • single

  • i rember wachting this video when i was a kid great memories

  • Real Music, Man i miss the 80's. Music was original and the sound just grabs you.

  • i am sure with you.

  • if you want to listen to the extended version of this smash track and some other rare system tracks go to my vids =)

  • Yep loved this

  • Love the system, this song always sounds great. Thanks for posting!

  • DAMN!!!!!!!! I haven't heard this song in years!!!! It's so nice to hear it again. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • Who you tellin! I was casually searchin for some 80's stuff and saw this and freaked out.

  • THIS IS MY SHIT!!!

  • their best song, should have been a bigger hit

  • Mic looks and sounds like every woman's dream man. Great song by the way!

  • This song was my joint! "Mic sang the melody and Dave played the keys"...and they did it like no other!

  • THIS SONG SAYS IT ALL!!!

  • Aw man....this is taking me back to the Summer of '85!!!

  • Man, oh man..this right here is my damn jam!!! I played the grooves off this jam..still do!

  • Yeah, I used to love this one too and "You're In My System" and "Don't Disturb This Groove"!!--The System and D-Train were my shit in the early 80's!! (-:

  • This song is just magic. Im back in harlem ny that summer in 1984 with my first live in girlfriend with that beautiful big booty. Aaahhh...lol.

  • Yea! Takes me back to this girl I spent half my senior year, trying to get with. We didn't hook up till college. She said she always liked me, back then, but thought I was too much of a player to take her serious. She was right about the player part, but so wrong with taking her serious, back then. I'd have packed away the player card, sho-nuff!

....for a good minute, at least. As I did when we finally hooked up, some years later. :P

  • Awesome track. Totally love everything about it - vocals, synths, bass line, drum track - brilliant!! Why oh why weren't they a success in the UK? Were they on the fringes in the US or a major act?

  • It's a shame that I have to log onto this site to hear this song. It has literally been 22 years since I heard this classic.

  • great dance classic

  • i love who ever posted this song it brings back memories of a time we will never see in america again GOOD DAM MUSIC!

  • you are right the 80s were so different life was worth living back then im 31 years of age now and all i listen to is 80s i even have a jherri curl to make it better music like this is gone forever.

  • Very similar feel to their production on Robert Palmer's 'You Are In My System' (a cover of The System's original).

  • One of the best Soul/Funky Duo's of the 80's! Nothing today compares to The System! They made use of electronic music and still kept the funk! Who today does that?! NOONE!!!!

  • Damn i can't see shit in the video

  • This is a classic tune that stands the test of time. I never get bored of it.
