lol i met my boyfriend of 3 years now on an online game, went to his house in another state (he's from where i had lived several years before meeting him) and everything turned out just fine. granted my dad did drive me there and had a shotgun in the trunk to show my boyfriend when we got there.
i met my boyfriend via Skype, we talked a lot and after a week we decided to meat up because we lived in almost the same area. My parents were totally fine with it since i had talked and seen him on webbcam. We have been together almost a year now :)

How can you call a person you have never met in real life boyfriend/girlfriend? Sure you can know each other, but on some levels he/she is still a stranger to you.
@wmadelene Just because you can't touch them doesn't mean anything whatsoever. It's no different then meeting someone at a bar and finding out that they are crazy.
I brought my best friend/unbiological brother Alex to meet a guy that I met online..... The guy's name's Tyler, he's 20, we've been dating for a year, and we're getting married next summer. xDD He's from the states, I'm from canada, and he's came to visit me many times. I'm actually going to visit him This december. xDD
@MissKathrynCulver He's in love with you. He probably doesn't mean RIGHT AWAY he means eventually because he's not using you or anything. He loves you. But talk to him about it. Mine says the same thing but I know he doesn't mean as soon as we meet we're gonna run off to Italy get married and have 20 kids ;x Eventually we'll get married because we're in love. And uhm yeah. Relax. x] Just talk to him.
@DrinkCement Umm, I never ended up meeting him. xD His dad decided to not pick him up the day he was supposed to and so he was going the day after but I was busy...so yeah. :/
people think its weird how Muslims can marry people they don't know (since in Islam dating is not allowed) but this is what we do, meet someone with a trusted guardian so that guardian can see if that person is a creep/bad for you or not.
Anyways meeting up someone thru the internet is not always a good idea i think... it's kind of weird actually... i mean, the person you liked online might turns out to be a creep or like a weirdo. and honestly you can't tell what's going on in his mind when you guys just chatting. video chat might solve that problem but, still, you can't really tell what kind of person he is. to actually get to know someone ,you really gotta see almost everything, every small trivia things he does.
I am actually engaged to someone I met online. That's exactly what I did too... Well actually my older brother and I picked him up from the airport, and everything was all gravy! Granted when meeting face-to-face for the first time I was so nervous I rambled on about how my shoe laces were missing.. But yeah, things were/are awesome. I'm a very lucky person to have managed to find someone online who isn't a creepy pedo. NOT EVERYONE IS SO LUCKY. Creeps are everywhere, so plz be careful people.

Y'know?
@luxord2654 Sadly, not always are people willing to help, at times some may even avoid the pair in conflict (even if the girl/guy is clearly harassing the other person in some way.)
Though, if you don't want your friend, parent or someone to be seen with you when you meet this person, why not just have the meeting at a caffe/town park which is in clear view to them? A place which is often and which they can see the 'soon to be couple', with out necesserily interupting them.
@luxord2654 That way, they can be here to help out if anything potentialy dangerous is happening, but they wont really cause any interuption to the two, as the couple is most likely going to have a long and somewhat awkward conversation (since it is their first time meeting, after all.)Another person (friend/parent) in sight would probably make it just more awkward.
when i met my now boyfriend (at the time we weren't dating yet, just talking) i went to a concert (tons of possible witnesses) and my dad, my dad just sort of watched from a distance, and i also met another online female friend, who i knew i could trust shortly before. It ended out great, we've been dating for 2 years now, and leased our first apartment 3 months ago that's only 20 minutes from the online female friend i had met, (my now best friend),. :) gotta love the internet, haha.
I used to go on this chatting game last year, and I knew someone who pretended to be a gay guy on there, and they met another gay guy on there who was 14 (they were 15) and they fell in love and such and they had cyber sex and shit, and then my friend got the guy to admit that he was a girl, so that they could tell him she was a girl, too, and it turns out that not only he was a girl, but also 11 years old, not 14. Which means my friend cyber fucked an 11 year old. It was her fault, though.
i met my boyfriend online, he wanted to meet me and i brought my cousin with me. NEVER AGAIN! will i do that. long distance relationships are friggin hard especially if your broke all the time. :(

i met my husband on the internet :). i had him come to my house since my whole family would be there and he was perfectly fine with it. that was almost 7 years ago now :).
@idleal01 Yup! Just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary and next March will be 8 years together :). It's possible to meet some pretty awesome people on the internet, just have to be very careful!
I met my friend Kacy after I had known her for only about a year. It went perfectly fine. Infact, her Mom actually left her at my house for while she went to go pick up something. (Good thing I'm not a rapist. :D) Sadly she went back to her own state and we only talk online now, I'm hoping to see her again in person soon ~
My first boyfriend was met over the internet. He was actually my best friend's at the time ex. so she came with me when I met him. I don't think I'd do it agian, though
I have actually done this before and it turned out perfectly fine, but that is just because I lucked out in all honesty. The first boyfriend I had I meet him on Myspace through roleplay(if you don't watch anime you won't now what it is) but anyway, we dated for three years on the computer than he moved down to my state and we finally meet, he was a prefect boyfriend(I was 16 at the time btw so was he) and he was not a creep at all. I do believe people can meet over the internet.
As long as you do meet someone in a public place, maybe have pepper spray you should be okay. Cause a random guy at the mall could look 16 and really be 27 and an escaped rapist just as much as someone online could be. At least meeting them online first might give them more respect of you.
Personally I would video chat first so you can talk kind of face to face. Have more than one of these chats. Then possibly meet in person. But make sure you bring a pocket knife and or pepper spray for protection. :D
i would not bring my mom....haha because like....what if tht person then rape not just me....but my mom......that's not really a "family activity" i would enjoy....haha I would stick to bringing my guy friend ahha:D
At the least meet in a busy public place like a coffee shop, the mall or something. I was stupid, I went to the guys house. Luckily I wasn't raped or killed. lol
when i was kid i was really scared that someone would break into my house at night so i would go in my moms room and she told me that she wouldnt be able to do anything if someone were to break in so i was even more scared
hahaa! I'm 14 and I met a 16 year old online, because we lived so far away we met half way in Birmingham and I went on a two hour train journy on my own to met what could have been a peadophile. Luckily it turned out he was amazing and I'm still going out with him now :D but my advise is bring protection, it doesn't have toi be a parent just something to hurt someone, like I took a lighter and hairspray, Two very important items when meeting a stranger ;)
bring pepper spray. Thats really the only thing you can do without looking parinoid. Also, I'm the type of person who knows a creeper when i see one. So that helps too.
In my case, I sucked it up and met him anyway. I could have died...but...I didn't. Yay for me. Turns out we got along even better in person and now I live with him and we've been together for the past 5-ish years. :D
(continued) owning a small can of pepperspray you can get at a gas station even. Also a small knife with a pocket clip so you can have it in your back pocket more concealed, also a thumbstud is good for opening it faster one handed. And yes I do mean having a knife even if you are a girl, just don't take it to school. Idk about school policy on the spray though but I don't think you'd get in trouble if you somehow got caught when it would be in your bag anyways. But I do think Onision is right!
I agree with Onision though I myself if I was a girl would instead bring a friend and have the meeting in a food place and I'd tell the guy to wear a hat he already described to me so I could see who they were first. I'd also have my friend go in seperately so I could see this person first then when my friend came in I could decide to not know who she was and I could go to meet the person alone or I could go sit with my friend if the person was older than they should be. Also I highly encourage-
i met my boyfriend online, but i went alone cause i only had to pick him up at the train station and its very busy there soo nothing could really happen there. But i took him home right away to show my parents he is just the guy he told me he is. And now he's like my boyfriend hahaa. :3
Well my boyfriends moving here sometime this summer. & Yes i met him online but i don't look at it as an online relationship. =/ So i think if you trust them enough it shouldn't matter.
I brought my friends with me to meet my internet friend of 3 years. They were convinced she was going to be a 40 year old rapist. She wasn't by the way, and she was even more pleasant in person then online. She came to my birthday that year, and slept over at my house for a weekend while she was in town :)
@Jonalexher i fully understand the risks of meeting online. but surely the label boyfriend should be reserved until you're sure they're not going to do such things?
Maybe he'll wait until 12 at midnight to post "Last Human on Earth" to keep his ritual of posting every day since this video "Online Dating & Meeting In Person" was already posted today. Maybe?
@PinkKissedLips well, what makes someone your boyfriend/girlfriend? I think it could be, my best friend has never met her boyfriend in person and they've known each other for five years and been a couple for over a year.
@Kompleksiti I agree with you. What makes a relationship? Two people (of any gender), caring for each other. Can I care for someones well being with out seeing their face, or only seeing it from a picture (or through a cam perhaps)? I'm pretty sure I can.A human touch isn't an obligation, it's a priveladge. If the person seriously lives out of your country or similar, and at the time you have no way of meeting them, they're still your boyfriend/girlfriend. :L
I met my current boyfriend over the internet when I was 17, he was 22. After we online a week before hand, he decided to drive out to me (it was only a two hour drive) and meet me for a day of two friends hanging out. I was in college at the time, living in the dorms and my parents had no idea. We ended up getting lost in a middle of a nor easter for four hours until we found our way back to the college. Three years later, we're still together and just moved in to our own place :)
i met...my husband...over the internet. We met for the first time in a motel he rented for the weekend. ;) RAWR! 5 years togetehr & growing strong! (We just got out of the shower together) mmmmm
lol i met my boyfriend of 3 years now on an online game, went to his house in another state (he's from where i had lived several years before meeting him) and everything turned out just fine. granted my dad did drive me there and had a shotgun in the trunk to show my boyfriend when we got there.

I adore you, you can always give good advice in kinda rude and strange way. I love your hair and the things you say. Thank you

bring pepper spray. Thats really the only thing you can do without looking parinoid. Also, I'm the type of person who knows a creeper when i see one. So that helps too.
GeminiWithHope 1 year ago

MrEllisRedding 1 year ago
I agree with Onision though I myself if I was a girl would instead bring a friend and have the meeting in a food place and I'd tell the guy to wear a hat he already described to me so I could see who they were first. I'd also have my friend go in seperately so I could see this person first then when my friend came in I could decide to not know who she was and I could go to meet the person alone or I could go sit with my friend if the person was older than they should be. Also I highly encourage-

Are they really your boyfriend/ or girlfriend if you've never met in person?
PinkKissedLips 1 year ago
@PinkKissedLips well, what makes someone your boyfriend/girlfriend? I think it could be, my best friend has never met her boyfriend in person and they've known each other for five years and been a couple for over a year.
Kompleksiti 1 year ago
