good question. the north end of the strip is really hurting and if they were to knock this one down no one would be ready to spend a billion or two on another since no one will go that far north anymore. i guess riviera is still turning a slight profit but its hard to see how. but new years eve will have a crowd everywhere even circus circus and stratosphere.
I wonder how long before they implode this baby. I stayed there and the rooms were great but the main lobby is just sad. I can't belleive vanessa williams is going to be performing there on 2011-2012 new years eve.
Stayed there in 09 and going there again in 2 months. Its a classic. affordable and nice. pool area is better than ceasars imo. Buffet was the only thing that was lacking in my mind. Location is pretty good too.
The Riviera is a reflection of the glitz and neon of what Las Vegas once was, before the billion dollar mega-resorts sprang up. I love those resorts, but the Riviera has a charm all its own.

We stayed in 314 Great hotel absolutly no complaints. We were here during the 5th may celebrations so 2 days of pool parties and tequila.
The room was clean the staff were friendly and the Kadys coffee shop was brilliant.
All in all a well recomended place to stay. I would definatly stay here again

Poor Riviera, the place used to be pretty popular 15 years ago.
