@Immorta124 Good for you Bro...but I think the "dumbass bitch" you are referring to are other people who don't know this. So spread it to them...I got it...that you get it. Shabashe!
@mrindia1 Yo, calm down, man. Yeah, a lot of people with no cultural curiosity mistake Panjabi MC's hit tune for arabic music. That said, why wouldn't a DJ be allowed to mix something indian with something about arabs? I mean, Led Zeppelin weren't arabs, but they incorporated arab music in their songs. And I could mention dozens of other musicians taking influences from other countries.
@Lultschful I get it man...but that was intentional. This is not! The time is such that it is important to be culturally correct...people were killed after 9.11 because of Americans being too ignorant.
@mrindia1 First off it's called India, not "Indian". Secondly, Arab isn't a country... and to continue off this point, the majority of Arab speaking countries are also IN Asia, as is the majority of the Middle East. Third of all, when Punjabi MC did a mix with Jay-Z, who complained that there was an amalgamation of Punjabi hip hop and American Rap? When Arab Money first came out, who complained about the mix of Arab and American music? Having this cultural mix doesn't equal ignorance.
@FMoradipour First of all it is INDIAN...Punjab itself is not "INDIA". And whoever fuckin speaks "arab" (which I think you mean "arabic") in Asia doesn't matter. All I said was Punjabi does not need to be related to Arabic...since we wear turban...its raises ignorance in people. Thats the whole point of my comment. I don't care you include Arabic in a Punjabi song and promote it. But when its not...don't show it like that.
@mrindia1 Linguistically speaking Indian is an adjective, so the fault of the confusion lands on you. You should have been more clear saying simply "Punjab". Also, when did I say "speaks Arab"? Nice try... Honestly your comments are just as racist and ignorant as you accuse others of being. And to further raise this point, the "Middle East" doesn't even exist... that's a Euro-Centric and racist way of viewing the world. Most Arab countries are in ASIA just like... wait for it... INDIA.
@FMoradipour Because it's NOT a mix of Arab and American music. It's a mix of PUNJABI and American music. Punjab is in South Asia, not the Middle East. The whole premise of the song shows serious Orientalism.
I'd be like remixing a Mexican song and calling it "South American money". It's just ignorant.
@SaimDI That's not even the same argument... I never said Punjab was in the Middle-East, I said most Arab speaking countries were in fact in Asia, when your initial differentiating attribute was that "Punjabi is in Asia, Arab is in Middle-East". Linguistically, you used adjectives as nouns, and you screwed up your geography. Go look at a map. And no that's not the same because the title clearly says Arab Money AND Mundian To Bach Ke. They didn't call the entire thing Arab. So ignorant...
@FMoradipour I said *Punjab* is in *South Asia*, not that "Punjabi is in Asia". Anyway, I apologize, I didn't realize "Arab Money" was a song before the mix with Mundian To Bach Ke. Although the lyrics are still somewhat orientalistic, mixing it with Punjabi music isn't. I'm probably a bit oversensitive as a member of the Punjabi diaspora, jumping to conclusions because of all the times I've had to point out that I am not an Arab and that Pakistan is not in the Middle East.
@SaimDI Don't sweat it. Funny enough the term "Middle East" isn't an appropriate one to use. The term was first coined when a British journalist was writing an article on Persia, but was not allowed to mention the country. So that said, the Middle-East ORIGINALLY did include Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, but now it is more-so just the Arab speaking countries and Iran. In saying "Middle East" that makes the assumption of England being the middle of the world. :P
@mrindia1 dude I am Punjabi, I just wanna remind you that Arabs were in India including Punjab for thousands of years..we share great history with them...also a lot of Punjabi words are pronounced the same and have the same meaning in Arabic, but most of Punjabi words are from the Persian language and Urdu..Punjabi is a Indo Aryan language...
@TheInsidiousParadigm funny shit is theres more arabian and black people that have more money than you and your inbred friends and family have ever seen. Keep sucking dick.....thats what faggots do.
hmm nice :D
