Pinhead is not bad, he is a good character, because he punish the weak. He comes to those who are lost souls because of themselves. He doesn't do evil, he do good, he challenges those who are fallen.
I haven't seen any of the movies and I've seen a bunch of clips, and seeing this I'm all like, he DOES have a thing for her: "I gave myself to let you run" (when he said that I actually said "Ohhhh" out loud) "And what I want, is YOU" (yup, he definitely does). But DAMN she's kinda evil if she trades five other people for herself
@LunaTicWTF people she traded her self for were the people her husband cheated on her with, and a asssain murderer, the people she traded were all bad, as well as her husband himself, he deserved it,
@jackoadeetayo1 True but think about it this way, it takes him maybe two seconds to impale someone on chains. Yet she is still unharmed and he lets her barter with him.
I think the reason Pinhead heard Kirsty out wasbecause first, she lived up to her dealings, and secondly, I think he believes she is more useful alive. Probably once she agreed to kill five people, he believes she will continue to deliver him souls in the future.
Man, this should have been in the movie. Very well acted. Props to Doug Bradley and Ashley Laurence both as this scene serves as a nice semi conclusion to the first two films.
@iamcitizen2010 I have. That was a different scenario where Frank was the central issue. He was an already damned soul that escaped which she promised to give the Cenobites. There is a different. Even Ashley Laurence herself said that this scene doesn't work. because its something Ashley would never do.
@Kenro200x : I think it would work because lets get real, she did do that to her uncle. Just because he deserved it doesn't matter. She saved her own skin by sacrificing someone else, it doesn't make her less of a good person but in a situation like this you have to be unforgiving to survive. The moment her hubby tried to off Kirsty he signed his own death warrant because she has a natural right to defend herself.
Dough Bradley should've won an Oscar for this scene's peformance alone, it was so sinister and sounded very inevitable when he said "The box will NEVER let you go....You opened it, you unleashed the power, there is NO turning back..." It sums up all the Hellraiser movies in one line....
@69crafty It makes sense in a very strange way, though. It seems as though he's indulging her as a lover might, as though this is a game that amuses him; he'll play by her rules for now, but someday soon, she'll have to play by his.
@69crafty Well, it's an alternate scene, and I'm glad it wasn't in the final product. This reason because it just makes Pinhead looks like a man with mercy, when in actuality his a fuckin' badass.
A superb scene. The only good scene of all the direct to video movies after Bloodline. Of all the crap thats been released why did the have to delete the best scene!
They should have kept this in. Kirsty gave Pinhead the souls of three of her hubby's mistresses, a friend of her husband that plotted to kill her (along with her hubby) and her rotten husband.
@ThatChickwithSigns Yeh, i just get frustrated cause a lot of movies i like have scenes or lines of dialogue that are removed despite the fact they vastly improved a movie, i just dont understand the logic of directors, producers, film companies etc. at times.
The cenobites used to look alot more morbid. I agree with all these comments regarding the costumes and make-up. The original cenobite look was much more raw. They replaced the leather with rubber latex, and got rid of the fresh, still bleeding open wound look.
All the sequels are fun to watch, but I'm personally only fond of Hellraiser and Hellbound as the real article.
@ANZAmoon Or it could be that Doug Bradley was getting a little older and maybe wasn't in perfect shape lol. He isn't young anymore but he is still bad-ass ^_^!
i think this cut scene is a little better than the film scene, but it still feels weak, shoulda been done with a little more feeling, and they def underused kirsty in that film =(
Are you kidding? She just doesn't want to go to Hell like ANY nornal human.
Besides... they are not her friends at all: 3 women with which her husband was cheating on Kirsty and 2 man who created a whole plan to kill her because of her money.
Pinhead was way better in the first 2 movies. Back then they used a nice dark effect for his voice. Now he just talks with a mean natural voice. And what's up with the very rubberish looking suit he's wearing. Where is the blood pooring wound on his belly, do wounds heal in hell? Nothing about this movie got me excited. Just go see part 1 and 2 cause after that the 'wanna-make-a-smart-horror-but-epicly-fail-directors' took over and screwed this fantastic franchise into oblivion. Pffffff!!
@realjap3 Completely agree with what you've said. Everything looked and sounded better in Hellraiser 1&2: I like how some scenes of both movies revealed Pinhead's submissive, soldierish sadness that one could see in his expression. The costumes looked more natural, they made an impression that these caracters were really used to wearing them and felt comfortable, the acting was brilliant while in the newly movies it's around average, the music was excellent and so was the horror atmosphere.
I agree that this scene ought to have been left in!
I also have to admit that I love the Kirsty/Pinhead dynamic, whether it's romantic, or just an epic protagonist/antagonist storyline. Regardless, I love them together, and I think that both of them enjoy this "little game" of theirs. I mean, if anyone else said, "What if I make you a deal?", Pinhead would probably laugh in his/her face and then turn him/her into a cenobite without hesitation; I think he likes chasing after Kirsty.
I would love to see them make a modern film featuring Kirsty and the cenobites, maybe exploring the relationship. Becuase there does seem to be something that keeps drawing her to them
@kurukururock From Hellraiser 2, I always sort of felt that it was a mutual thing, that she was at least curious about his world. And it's totally obvious that Pinhead always wanted her.
@sharona1981 Actually that makes some sort of sense. The fact he even bothered to help her before could have been an indication of some sort of feeling. Not quite sure if it was straight up desire but there are definitely some undertones between them that suggest some sort of connection that will never really be defined.
@CloakNStab Pinhead was the one constant in her life, the one person who didn't die or betray her. i just wanted her to go with him at the end of this movie.
@sharona1981 If Kirsty had gone with Pinhead, he and the Cenobites would've torn her to pieces or tortured her slowly. Still, some part of me also wanted her to give in to her "desires." Let's face it, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to her family's legacy with the Cenobites.
@ducky8abug agreed. Like Doug Bradley said, "No remakes please, it's a waste of good celluloid." Personally, I would bring back the original actors, have Kirsty finally become a cenobite ruling the others at Pinhead's side. I would give her the cenobite name of "Dealer" and have her dressed up in a kind of "Lady Luck" type outfit with playing cards as her weapon of choice.
