@sdophs If your mixing desk has so-called "Insert" jacks, you need four insert cables (like for example the CORDIAL CFY 3 VPP, one for each channel where you want to use the MDX on) and connect them as shown in the Behringer manual instructions. For beginners it's often irritating that an insert jack is input AND output at the same time. On one end of an insert cable you got a STEREO connector (notice the second black ring on the plug), which ain't working as Left/Right but as "In/Out".
@dmyers93 The MDX2600 is a stereo compressor. It has two channels with separate jacks and knobs for each channel so that you can also use the MDX as two separate mono compressors if you like. When used in STEREO COUPLE-Mode you only need to tweak the knobs of channel one and the other one gets automatically adjusted as well.
@sonofkamal Thanks for getting back to me. I found this on accident. I am a Ham Operator looking at audio stuff and ran across your MDX2600 vid. Then heard the track on the end. Said to myself. Man, thats good stuff!!! So I had to ask. I just checked out the completed track you told me about. This really is Good stuff man... The instrumental is powerful. I love guitar work like that. Being old school sounds a bit like the Moody Blues. Keep up the hard work. Thanks for Sharing...
ur like the only person on youtube who doesnt have a conditioner on thier rack....well mabey i just dont see it....id get one if you dont have one. i lost 2k worth of rack stuff from a stupid surge...
you're absolutely right. i'm only using a multiplug extension cable. and now you're scaring me. anyhow, i dont have most of those anymore. only left voice prism plus and boss GT pro.
kardoplay. I don't know why you'd say that. As an engineer the first thing I look to is either Behringer or Alesis in the rack. I've used this model also and it performs its job fantastically! And the features within this unit alone would cost you thousands to purchase independently otherwise such as a de-esser for example.
but i am mainly worried about the sc mon because when ever it gets like touched the amp crackles and will have no output
Just wondering if there are any setting to be warry about -- becuase when engaged in the side chain the trigger, side output, and the threshold seem to function properly --- however, the ratio, the attack and the other middle funsctions do not really operate properlly
hey brother, i was just wondering if you were to set it up to a map like i tried putting it the side chain on my amp and when i ppushed the "sc mon" on the behringer it makes my amp go fuzy as well same with the ratio it will make the amp go kinda fuzyy
LOL !!! My bad it is the 700RB i lied.... :P however i beleive i tested that set up when i first recieved the composer and the results did not work out soo well, unfortunatly... I have a stereo D.I. box and a Radial RE-amp box and what I have tried is running ---> Bass ---> D.I.---> composer --> Re-amp box -- > Bass head, however i cannot seem to get any sound out of it my D.I. is a samson dual stereo D.I.
give me some time to try out. at the mean time, try to swap your re-amp box with the composer. means, bass-DI-reamp-composer-head. i'll get back to you once i get the answer.
HEY thanks alot brother, it helps but i am still kinda hazy what i have is a Gallien Krueger 750rb-II Head with the matching GK RBH 4x10 cabinet - would i have to incorporate a D.I. box and re-amp box or could i just patch it straight into the head
never seen 750rb-ll before, but i belive it should be about the same with 700rb-ll. if it is, for your beast, you could connect the composer at the patch bay (far right). hope the slot's still available. if not, let me know and i'll do some try out and see what can be done.fyi, i completely understand your doubt about having to use DI box. and i know what i mentioned above doesnt answer your question directly. i just see that 'patch' option wiuld be best..
hi there. my set up was, v-amp pro - stereo procesor - composer pro xl - soundcard (computer) direct monitor using monitor speaker from computer.
it is possible and i've seen ppl doing it before. if you have a side chain option at the back of your head, you could plug in the composerpro straight. out head - in composer and out composer - in head.
i have the behringer mdx 4400 and want to connect it to my home studio but im not sure how could anyone help me?!

Is this a stereo compressor, or is it only one channel?

if not, you could try bass - head - composerpro - speaker. connector behind composer pro can be xlr or 1/4 jack.
if need more info, tell me what cabinet(head) you're using so i could try to find out the exact way. hope this helps
