Im currently looking at my students addition bible, and under the heading of 'Homosexuality' it says that its a common error the bible doesn't approve of gays.

That might be the problem, it being a "student" edition. In the book Leviticus, Chapter 20, paragraph 13, it says that homosexuals should be killed. Although later, apparently this was "revoked" however I still believe it to be one of the major flaws of the religion. As for me reading the entire Bible, no. But I understand it more than most people do who have read it multiple times. I look at things with an open mind. And I don't judge those who believe in God at all.
