  • gil sharone plays in this band?????dude is versatile!!!

  • Dillinger sounds like overdosing on antidepressants. Love this band.

  • at 2:20 jeff is unplugged .. did you noticed that ?

  • @Vermicelly No he was still plugged in. Difficult to see, but his cable's still there and attached.

  • why is the mix SOOO horrible??

  • @tbwannab there are alot of things besides the mix that is horrible with this video

  • Lol fuck Greg is ripped..

  • Chris Pennie isTHE best part of this band...lol

  • @nolanoman21 was?

  • @nolanoman21 Yeah... Chris has been gone for years now.

  • @nolanoman21

He really has. And he was good. But i think Ben might be a genius

  • greg seems tired in this video

  • They suck live? Yet you enjoy These Crooked Vultures lol. Oh great another boring Dave Ghrol sideband that puts me to sleep. HOW ORIGINAL!!! Piss off Dillinger Escape Plan goes way beyond your head.

  • @ToolOfTrade sorry man, but i cant let you bag out josh homme, dave grohl, and john paul jones at the same time, and i doubt you even took the time to listen to them. just saying, no offence, but the best way to watch youtube vids is to ignore comments that you dont like and just to write one that is good, i love DEP too, so just enjoy the hectic pwnage taking place in the video window

  • @sxstratno1elses who cares Dave Grohl is overrated, John Paul Jones was cool over 35 years ago. Josh Homme hasn't done anything great since Kyuss.

  • @ToolOfTrade im only saying that its ok for someone to like/not like whatever they want. and if you think homme hasnt been good since kyuss, well listen to the album "songs for the deaf" thats all im gonna say

  • @Elvoski can you explain to me why in your opinion they suck live? I'm just curious to know your reasons.

  • The vocalist is a TANK!!...awesome performance btw...

  • Wow, very mature description dude, but we don't give a shit you don't like Criss, you know?

  • de la cabeza!

  • hahaha

"Chris Pennie - Sitting In His Limo With Paris Hilton And That Hairy Rush Tribute Band Singer From Coheed And Cambria "

  • this is a bad day? it still sounds good

  • Thank you for posting this amazing performance. My favorite heavy band on the planet.

  • lol at the tiny water cup

  • because you touch yourself at night. also stfu.

  • dont know a better answer ?

  • Ok in all seriousness I think the vocals sound pretty average but they aren't bad.

  • yea .. but I hope they doesnt sound always like this cause I like this band :/ ^^

  • Look at some other videos, he rarely sounds like this but pretty much all singers have bad days.

  • @Cleansation515 also its hard to sound good live when ur always screaming ur ass off

  • because of the overall sound

  • fuck yeah! how do they play those complicated riffs and be crazy at the same time?? DEP = awesome!

  • Psyopus sounds like them

  • sorta

  • they sound like Psyopus

  • BOTCH!!!!

  • Got to love Dilinger. The only band I've ever seen that top them for craziness are Take a Worm for a Walk Week... I'm not promoting them or anything, they ARE fucking crazy!

  • Your fucking mothers a waste of talent, she's not in porn.

  • I don't know, I've never heard blues as technical as this. But I'm willing to suspend disbelief for a bit. Please name a blues or rock band that matches these guys technically.

  • giraffes? giraffes! does a pretty good job. only one guitarist and one drummer. there not as heavy as DEP like at all but i still like them alot.

  • fuck yeah man Giraffes? Giraffes! are insane. Saw them live and was in awe.

  • The Number 12 Looks LIke You are very good, too.

  • Between the buried and me

    Protest the hero

  • PTH :D

  • No.

  • example?

  • I'd consider Milk Lizard blues

  • that makes very little sense...

  • dude, coheed and cambria is amazing

  • They truely are, When having love with 4 other guys.

  • that made no sense...

  • hells yeah

  • Woah why does everyone hate coheed?

  • i dunno man, they're sick

  • i just don't like coheed and then pennie went to join them. i know weinman and chris were on the outs when pennie left, but you know, dude was such a huge aspect of the band's sound, that's all. ultimately, i can't really hate the dude. i just think it's a step down, artistically. that's all.

  • cause the drummer left to play for them i guess

  • Man, Greg is burnt out on these shows! He looks like he's going to fall over a couple of times. The rest of the band isn't really animated either. They must've been under a lot of stress

  • this is fukn sick

  • "Chris Pennie - Sitting In His Limo With Paris Hilton And That Hairy Rush Tribute Band Singer From Coheed And Cambria

    "

    amazing

  • I have a hard time hearing this song end without hearing Lurch start up in my head!

  • Haha i got that with most dillinger songs.

  • excellent, when your guitar strap falls just fall to the ground!!! its unvbelievable how good they are live.

  • greg sounds awful in this clip....ben always pwns though

  • yeah i noticed greg was a little off. the whole band looks a bit tired out and haphazard. I think they got caught at a bad time.

  • these guys are freakin rediculous!! Definately some of the most insane musicians ive ever listened to. Why is every one haten on them or Coheed. Both bands are amazing at what they do. On talent level DEP definatley dominates all around though Coheeds guitarists are sick too...basically anyone that could play dillinger could play coheed but not everyone who could play coheed could play dillinger. Though comparing the 2 is like comparing apples n oranges. People just need to appreciate all music

  • they compare them to Coheed because their original drummer left DEP to join Coheed.

  • i know that..i just get annoyed with everyone haten on either band. Both are awesome. People need to expand their musical horizons a bit and not limit themselves to one genre. Thats all i was gettin at. I hear that they got a new drummer now after Gil. I wonder why they go through so many?

  • I assume Gil left because he was more of a temp, Gil was and is involved in many projects so both parties probably thought it'd be best to find someone more dedicated. Then again, I just pulled that out of my ass, so who knows.

  • yeah, but theyre hard songs to learn tho, would he bother learning their whole set knowing he would be leaving soon? its not like hes filling in in some blues band! i said in twice and i think ill stick by it, its sounds right to me!

  • I agree!

  • soft rock? :D

  • soft jazz

  • favorite song by dep

  • LOL looks like a booger on his nose at 1:41

  • fucking love the bass in this song.

  • Does anyone have the tab for this song?

  • good improvise on the strap loss lol

  • i've got to admit this is a rather sloppy performance from DEP, saw them at download last year and every song they played was tight as a camels ass in a sandstorm, was ridiculous.

  • awesome song, awesome band, but sounds a little off here, considering they're playing at about 150x their usual, already insane speed

  • they are all really good at what they do not just Gil. They are very intense and harsh but the melodies are there despite the dramatic sudden changes. They are one of the more unique bands out and Greg grunts with a an always unrelenting sharp grunt with terrfic stamina. This is very spastic and scathing but thats the intention.

  • yeah your right, but its kinda the same situation as slipknot, good studio band, not the greatest live, but hey they are playing difficult stuff.

  • Not all music is meant to be cute for idiots that have little understanding of varied expression. Unless you can come up with as much originality and influence through experimental rock you have no place to put anyone down. Your only kissing up to Gil because you drum, go figure. What about the singers powerful voice, stamina, and stage presence or the technicality it takes on part of the guitar riffs. This isn't just random noise but very polyrythmic music. The problem is your perception sucks.

  • I'm sorry but I didn't say anything about noise, I listen to music that revolves around noise and it still is music (im sure you agree) Plus no offense, but they aren't playnig polyrhythms it's just technical, there isn't 2 pulses going on it's just harder to follow. I understand what your saying though

  • Well they do make use of polyrhythmic stuff at times, though in a sparse manner. But yeah your right most of it is just technical. But live these guys are usually good though but at times seem too drowny. Records always have more clarity than the actual sound of just about any kind of music. Pro-tools can work wonders for an album. But anyway sorry for the spazed out moment.

  • because the yhave the ability to be good live

  • Can't blame you though because to many this is a bit much take in at one time compared to a lot of music around. I like the immense power of the music and the stamina of the band but I can definetly see how this can be a bit too overbearing for a lot of people.

  • Haha yeah i didnt like them first either... After seeing them live i loved them though.

  • I'm glad we came to an understanding, it's just that I've seen them live twice and they weren't that good, but they have pretty hard shit to play. I've been listening to them for a while and it's sad to see them not reach certain potential

  • this isint alot burzum is fukin alot to take in at 1 time hahaha its just fucked up lol

  • Well it is hectic and scathing but that is the intention and this band captures that sporadic sense of intensity better than many others with not just harsh riffs and grunts but odd quick melodic parts and evcer shifting melodies. Just becausew omeone else comes along with a hectice style doesn't take away from what these guys do. It's illogical and "fucked up" to identify the features of someone's sound yet disregard another's.

  • no i was saying that burzum is practicaly just noise a jumble of shit strung together and screaming and thats why its alot to take in not talent wise like fukin scary kinda wise haha

  • Oh I get ya, but sometimes noise music is sometimes more structured than it seems. But not everything has to be soley based on how highly skilled a person may be. Sometimes pure noise driven music without as much meticulous form like this can be fine in my opinion. While this band is hectic there is a lot in terms of compostion. Sometimes it's nice to just to have aggro mussic without all the thought going into it. Thats not my thing really but that level of freedom seems ok at least to me.

  • all i know if that i saw this band twice in a week and they sounded shitty both times. although this actually sounds like they're on, besides the obvious lack of volume. but really, when i saw them you couldn't tell a guitar note from a fart. it's just a bunch of noise with insane drumming. i think chris pennie left because he realized they suck live

  • 000MidnighSun, At shows some get drowned out a lot because it's hard to replicate perfectly live and distinguish everything like on record. That has more to do with the equipment on part of the clarity in the sound. They do well very often actually. They are known well for their stamina. Chris left due to more personal tensions with the band and wanted to try something new. He didn't leave because gimps such as yourself has short attention span.

  • your favorite band sucks. there, i said it. can we move on now?

p.s. i'm actually a decent fan of dep, love this album; so are there any videos where you can actually hear the song?

  • not mad on the vocals really.really gud though.very talented guitarists.nice sound cept for vocals.listen to botch.BOTCH!!!!!!!!!

  • Instruments aren't loud enough.

  • you people are fools.

these guys are sheer musical genius and you have no clue in your blissful ignorance.

it's a shame to have to share the air with people like you...

  • Well I'm not going to rehash something already known by most familiar with this bands music and major critics aswell. It's more then just that the stamina of the band as a whole is intense yet they hit everything dead on more often. Complex un-conventional time signatures, Singer with an immense consistant exhaled grunt, etc. They play reallt technical music and despite the high amount of capability it takes to write the stuff they do, they manage to put on an intense show.

  • well all that really matters it thay keep their fans and themselvs happy and yes grouls or whatever you would like to call them are extreamly hard and comlex time signatures are cool but i still prefer bands like tool to this

  • I like both equally but for different things. What you get with Dillinger you can't get with Tool and vice versa.

  • You've made it obvious you don't play drums.

  • how have i made it obvious its called blast beats if you think i dont know the name and i do play drums i didnt say good but i do play

  • the singer sucks.

  • he'S amazing live. just sucks in this vid. and generally they all didnt do their best here.

  • 7d7e7f7 can you exhale with that sort of stamina a few nights at a time. Do you know anything about vocal capability and what kind of stamina it takes to dish out vocals like that? Yeah right and Pavarotti was a bad tenor. I suggest you try The Wiggles, something you can easily comprehend vocal wise.

  • If they played at my bar.. I would burn my bar down... With them inside.. Mmm... yes

  • well too bad for you, they actually play real venues

  • yes, there are alot of freaks out there who go to listen to them... sadly

  • I got Ire Works a week ago, i think it is awesome. Greg has really fucking slammed his voice down, reminds me of what Patton would do. Do you reckon its intentional? Not saying hes trying to copy that style, but probably kinda took some notes since Patton jammed and released that EP. I seriously think its an awesome album, and probably my favourite as far as 'solidness' goes. Its a bloody solid album, and i like the variety.

  • the patton/dep album was released before greg joined

  • Yeah I know, mate. But it does remind me of him sometimes, but thanks for 'correcting' me. Magic of youtube.

  • It is good, but I just wish he would've kept the vocal style he had on Miss Machine.

  • greg was in the band on the patton release, but he didnt want to "play second fiddle" so let patton do a majority if no the entirety of the vocals

  • flawless live performance.

  • gonna see these dudes next year, fkn amazing

  • Great song, great performance.

    Nuff said.

    (singer's a bit raspy though...)

  • singer looks like addam sandler hahaha

  • Weinman and Pennie couldnt work together, so he took his chance with C&C when he had the offer. Dont be a douche about it.

  • i dont really go to live gigs anymore unless they put on some sort of memorable show, like Tool, Sigur Ros (shhh) or even Rammstein! but dillinger still stick in my head clear as water from when i seen them in february, they are DEFINATELY worth your time. XD

  • What's wrong with Sigur Ros? They're an amazing live band. Nothing to be ashamed of.

  • They're just nothing like DEP, Tool, or Rammstein. Haha, I'm obsessed with them though, along with the other bands mentioned.

  • fucking amazing nuff said

  • Mixed awfully...but not their fault.

  • dont rag on chris pennie for joining Coheed and Cambria, they're a decent band, probably just not your taste

  • It's just frustrating to see Chris in Coheed when all Coheed fans are doing is complaining about how they want the old drummer back, when Chris is so much better and they haven't even been able to hear Chris perform on an album yet. But yeah, Gil Sharone is a more than capable replacement for Chris Pennie technically speaking.

  • yeah and i understand what you mean, i think Eppard was better in the aspect thhat he didnt need a double kick pedal for their songs, whereas Pennie uses one.

    Just more character I guess

  • That is irrelevant. Using a double kick pedal doesn't make you better or worse, it just depends on the individual's style and preferences. I haven't heard Chris's double bass in Coheed, so I have no idea what it is going to bring to the band.

  • Listen the The End complete off of NWFT and it has a part with double bass in it. "You've been stealing my lines" part.

  • Yes but Chris hasn't recorded with Coheed yet, I was talking about HIS double bass.

  • hahaha I love how at the end Jeff Tuttle notices theres no sound coming from his guitar.

  • I have been following dillinger for years and I do really rate ire works though I feel that dillinger fans get some what desensetized to their sound so any thing less than a metal spazzcore freakout is some what of a dissapointment.........

  • I have been following dillinger for years and I do really rate ire works though I feel that dillinger fans get some what desensetized to their sound so any thing less than a metal spazzcore freakout is some what of a dissapointment.........

  • damn this is one of their best clearest performances actually sounds like the studio recording

too bad this is far from one of their great songs, too bad they only play sugar coated sour !! GRRR

  • I love you

  • 2 pretencious

  • Tinnitus can be perceived in one or both ears or in the head. It is usually described as a ringing noise, but in some patients it takes the form of a high...

  • ben fucked it up a bit in the end. but he's still the greatest

  • This new stuff is way shittier than their old style. Not that I hold it against them, maybe it gets boring doing the same stuff for 10 years. I'm just glad I saw them live when I did, right before Miss Machine came out.

  • They are still very much The Dillinger Escape Plan. They've added more catchy riffs a few melodic vocals and more jazz and electronics. There songs are more varied now than before. They still put out some of their old school style songs like "Lurch" and "Nong Eye Gong" whats not to love.

  • teh DEP are awesome, but i miss the OG sanger. he soundin way better. the music is as good as ever, if not better, i'm just not too keen on the new (now old) singa. *sigh*

  • after showing the girl i went out with a bunch of times "the dillinger escape plan" she said she likes me but she hates the death metal i made her listen to. i never called her again.

  • Haha dont let that get in way of love. ;-)

I lived a normal life with a girl for some years who hates everything i listen to.

  • Fuck that bitch she called Dillinger "Death Metal" I would've done the same.

  • you guys should learn to keep things seperate.. you can get laid through DEP when you present it in the "mysterious-you-wouldn't-understand-it-but-it-makes-me-deep" kind of way ;)

  • EXACTLY!

  • man, most love the music and say they hate me lol :p

  • well, my girlfriend looks down on me because i cant cover dillinger on guitar like she can (i can barely cover the fucking pixies). having a pretty girl who constantly disparages your musicianship is way more demoralizing than having a pretty girl who has a shit taste in music

  • "having a pretty girl who constantly disparages your musicianship is way more demoralizing than having a pretty girl who has a shit taste in music " hahahaha

  • It also makes you try harder. Maybe she is one of those girls who gets off on Dillinger? And if you cover the song correctly perhaps... I don't know, you'll get luckier instead of just lucky? Could be wrong, though.

Take this from a dude whose girlfriend thinks Broken Social Scene is a shit band and that "Indie rags" reviewers should stop trying so hard. Pixies rule. :)

  • But you should feel proud, you have someone who likes the only true great music! I know i sound ignorant when i say metal is the absolute best but it simply is, any pop or rap/ techno watever these damn kids listen to these days is shit, im 14 and i hate mainstream shit, I don't associates myselfs with retards. Anyways take heart youll get better. Any kind of Metal and sometimes / rarely Classical music(small doses) is the best.

  • XxGHOST666xX, I've never seen anybody with such ignorant tastes. Metal is great, I love listening to it, but I've learned to love rap, techno, jazz, as well as other types of music.

  • ahahah fearless music

my band records down the hall from where this was recorded.

    the dudes there suck.

    however,

    Dillinger rules

  • It's the people who recorded and mixed it for the show. They mix it for lame tv shit.

  • ok, so think the general concensus here is that this is a shitty performance lol.

but it doesn't make dep a shitty live band.

the amps are clearly fucked up, the guitar sounds way too fuzzy, and greg's throat must've been hurting that day.

it HAS to have been this throat lol, because i've seen them live and that motherfucker can scream o_o.

all in all not a good performance though.

  • it only sounds 'bad' coz the auido is blown and the sound is in mono lol and its on fucking youtube GREAT SONG BTW

  • the only reason he left is for money reasons, dillinger has been known as the band everyone talks about but know one listens to, so obviously coheed was selling alot more records

  • There is a reason this is called math metal. Its technical and challenging to musicians like this...

  • I understand taking things at a faster tempo; that's good artistic freedom. But, I have to say that this sounded much worse than the album version. I enjoy the rhythm. And, it was a mess. It was muddy and barely discernible. I'd like to see them perform their song with the inflection, groove and dynamics that they had in mind when writing the song.

  • it's the way that it's been recorded. i thought the same though.

  • im really confused by this band, ill admit that certain parts kick major ass, like the refrain to this song, but then there are parts that just come off as noise. ha i will admit that the fact that all the band members are able to keep together is quite impressive.

  • amazing but greg mustve had throat problems that day

  • shitty PA/amps it sounds like to me. the guitars sound way fuzzy and the drums sound weird.

  • watched this so many times

  • greg sounds like fucking shit in this video

  • i love dillinger so much, im a recent convert. I drum but i cant get the rhythm of it at all lol i just cannot get the timing. Its beyond my brain

  • YEAH THAT WAS AWESOME

  • cool!!!!!!!!

  • Ive yet to properly listen to this band, there's something about them that I dont like, but they are talented, and yes this is definately progressive.
