  • I used to live in Elizabeth...Kyowa always got hit first

  • Damn Nature, You Scary!

  • fake

  • one day before my bday

  • aww the eastern plains get more crazy stuff in central we just get plain non bad rain, thunder and lightning, I wish we got something bad for once

  • In my last comment: maybe 1.5 to 2 hours southeast of Denver, depending on what roads you take.

  • Comment removed

  • I remember that one on the news. This summer in Colorado was fucking crazy.

  • @MasterSamurai

How much does this happen in Colorado? And is anywhere near like Denver or Fort Bragg?

  • @Xsighting101 It's odd to see large tornadoes this far west. Most of ours are a bit smaller. Elbert is maybe 1.5 hours southeast of Denver. Not sure if this was the town or county of Elbert.

  • @Xsighting101 Tornados are very common in Eastern Colorado. Tornado warnings every week.

  • @emopope how often are tornadoes in castle rock?!?!?

  • @NBVvideos Umm rarely ever, honestly the closer you are to the mountains, the less tornados.

  • tornado bitch

  • I wonder if they will show this in stormchasers season 4.

  • Colorado averages somewhere around 25 to 30 tornadoes per year. Most of them happen towards the east, but Denver and some of the other places are also known to get them. You definetly have to watch out for hail storms in Colorado, it can get really bad at times.

  • In 1992 we had some 82 or something tornadoes, with 51 of them in Weld County.

  • Now that was an active year for sure. Kansas averages around 50 and in 2008 I believe they ended getting 187 if I remember this number right. I know Oklahoma's record is above 100 also. But 82 in Colorado is definetly an active year. I know Oklahoma's lowest tornado count is 18. I think it was in the 1980's when this record low # of tornadoes happened in Oklhoma. 51 in one county is really amazing. Thankfully the majority of tornadoes are in the weak category.

  • I should have recorded Denver National Weather Service radio at the time.. It was going haywire and saying things I'd never heard before such as "this storm is capable of producing strong to violent tornadoes"

  • wows,that thing is H.U.G.E!!!

i would b scared if that thing is almost at my house but it look cool bcause its not at my house ;)

  • i saw that from my house it was scarrrry!!!!

  • Something i've never understood is why in cartoons, cows are always caught in the tornadoes

  • I'd assume it's because tornadoes usually occur in agricultural regions

  • i remember seeing that on the weather channel

  • Hey Verne, fellow S.T. member Joel Ewing in Tucson here. Man....you must be living in accordance with the laws of divinity to be on your way to Kansas and bag these gorgeous naders on your way outta town! Beautiful score...congrats!

  • Not as big as I would expect from you guys. Ah well. Nice footage either way! Thanks!

  • I was in Kansas in 1999 when a tornado hitted me... I almost die!

  • I remember hearing about that. They look horrible.

  • wow i would be really scared if i was in it . but it looks pretty cool because im not in it

  • st4tic the earth is NOT drifting towards the galactic equator it's actually drifting AWAY from it. ppl just want to make a big deal out of it and say that's it's going towards the galactic equator because 2012 is coming up and they want ppl to panic about the world ending. :P

  • holy crap its huge i would have peed my pants!!!!

  • Same D: tornadoes are one of my worst fears and I'm not afraid to admit it >_>

  • omg i saw this tornado when i was out in colorado

  • wow that's so crazy, If that's how fast it looks like it's going from far away, it must be hella chargin!

  • This looks like its in the mountains, strange.

  • It possible that we will start seeing a lot of extreme and odd weather everywhere in the coming years. The Earth is drifting towards the galactic equator which has a strong electromagnetic field. No one knows for sure what it will do but, strange weather is one probability. I doubt much doom and gloom though. It has happened before and it will happen again. It's a cycle.

  • this is really incredible, ive always wanted to acually witness a live tornado. i bet its non-stop adrenaline

  • it's very cool if your not in it.

  • that looks awesome

  • check out spilla flo video

  • Great footage of this killer. Nice job!

  • Holy Sh**

  • OMG!

    Was there alot of damage???

  • I live in CO and I saw that tornado

  • Wow awsome video there...... good thing it didn't damage any house there! It looks like its a small farming community with the animals there....

    GOOD VIDEO of that Tornado

  • lol that horse should really move out of the way xD

  • That sucks cause I just live a few miles away from there! We've been having storms like no other lately. It is really depressing cause it's supposed to be summer and it's supposed to be sunny!

  • We've been having a lot of storms here in East Tennessee as well, but this is actually an improvement, because a couple of summers ago, we had little-to-no rain whatsoever, and it got so bad, the entire state was declared a disaster area because our drought was so severe. We were like nearly 20 inches below average for our annual rainfall that year.

  • Colorado has the most inconsistent weather...

  • It would have been real funny if it was YOUR house! HAW HAW HAW HAW HAW!!!!

  • HORSE HORSE HORSE!!!

  • it seems that this horse is getting famous off of this tornado video. ^^ HAHAHA!

  • horse: lalalala tis a beautiful day! Hmmmm what's that dark thing in the sky? Oh well! I'm just gonna eat.

  • lol the horse didn't even care about the tornado

  • lol poor horse

  • boring

  • that would be a horse.

  • when i was born in colorado there was a huge tornado that just missed our house

  • lol Think it was a horse :P

  • I Dont See AnyThing Flying Around

    Doesnt That Usually Happen In

    T O R N A D O E S ! ! !

  • Watch out, its after your coors light.

  • how did you get so damn funny?

  • By hangin out with your mom.

  • I live in colorado. We get a lot of tornado warnings and thunder storm warnings. I have personally never seen a tornado, but the lighting is huge.

  • yes it is

  • A Tornado! Is The Rockies Thats Bizzar!

  • It's not bizzare this is in the eastern plains of Colorado, not in the "rockies". happens ann the time!

  • all the time...

  • i live in monroe and we had a tornado warning today and nothing happened

  • Duuude that was awesome footage.

  • wow. this was simply remarkable. right after one tornado dies, another one forms.

  • Remarkable footage!

  • CO-LO-RA-DO WEAAATHER FOR YA

  • Very nice, I wish I could see a tornado one day ( as long as it does not destroy my house)

  • at about 1:24 a sister tornado is forming to the left.

  • looks far away...

  • i live in ohio and ive never seen a tornado. well, a live tornado. ive only seen them on tv

  • Awesome. Nice job.

  • wowzerz dood that iz so ttyl wicked!!!!

  • I was in Sterling, Colorado on June 14 during a big storm. But didn't get to see any tornadoes though. :\

  • Moss MUST Chase there one day!

  • I was close to that tornado because i was at a camp near by.

  • five six

    pick up sticks

  • ...and here I thought tornadoes could only touch done in the plains. LOL

  • Eastern Colorado around the Colorado/ Kansas state line is relatively flat compared to the rest of the state. Once you get to Denver, that's where the real big mountain ranges start.

  • There has been a recorded Tornado in every single state in the U.S.

There are also recorded tornadoes in the majority of Europe. They are certainly not a US only thing. Im pretty sure a tornado could happen anywhere in the world.

  • well i dowbt highly theres been a tornado in antactica but your roight the wierd thing is is that america is the perfect place for them to form we got cold air going down from cananda and warm air coming down from the gulf and when that mixes in the air i dont think you will be in kansas anymore

  • It there's the right conditions, anything can happen.

  • Wow, thats some tornado!. Those guys have serious balls to chase those things. great video!

  • i dont think reed is a youtuber!

  • Man we have been getting our asses handed to us in colorado, by all these tornadoes. everyday for 9 dayz str8

  • When life hands you lemmons make lemonade! Go storm chasing!

  • especially considering how far west these storm cells are developing. i have lived in the springs my entire life and have never seen anything like this befor. its crazyness.

  • lol i would love to be able to get real close to a tornado and take footage of it. and with the weather it is right now in CO i might just get lucky

  • Great footage! I taped this same tornado from my house in Franktown, north of CO Springs. You got a little closer, though!

  • i would of piss my self if that happen to me :P

  • Ahem, I was 30 miles away, beautiful, blue skies, chirping birds. Its been like this all week. They have had tornadoes of some kind every day (eastern colorado). Global warming? I dont know. Climate change? For sure. But I tend to think of it as the nature of our planet.

  • That horse was oblivious to the finger of death just over the ridge. Mighty tasty grass though.

  • We're having one hell of a season :|

  • yeah i know lol, its like the first month =crap but this month = amazing storms and alot of severe storms!

  • sounds cool

  • I live about 15 miles north, and this was insane.

  • I live 15 Miles southeast of where this was at... The sky looked BLACK as night off to the NW.

I was sure that Calhan was in the path, but it jogged north after coming south a but.

Ramah got grazed by this (no tornadoes luckily) - The storm ended up in Limon, still TOR warned!

  • Amazing video Verne! Watched this streamed live, and was completely jealous the whole entire time!

  • thats a big'un

  • amazing!

  • wow !

  • sweet dude thx

  • Thiss isn't anything about a TORNADO,but i had some close calls with lightning

  • like you almost got struck or something?

  • No,but recently I was going to an open house with my mom,and we drove right into a servere thunderstorm, and there was a bolt that struck not even a mile away,I plugged my ears, but it still hurt a bit, well,it gave me a headache, then I was trembling, hyperventilating, and going like"Get in the house!Get in the house!I don't wanna get STRUCK!!!!"I swear that storm was nothing compared to this other one I actually didn't notice much, too much XBL LOL

  • That sucks we were having a bad thunderstorm at my house and i was watching tv in my living room with my head leaning up against my window and then a cloud to ground lightning bolt struck right outside the window!

  • Wow!sick ,dude!

  • scared the crap out of me though

    i was shaking!!

  • i love ur videos!!

i went to the gym tonight and got back to my room so i can watch my newest subscriptions of all of ur twister videos! great job! always fun to watch!!

  • i gotta be honest, that's probly the saddest thing i've ever heard.

  • no way!! tornadoes r awesome!!!

  • yeah. awesome if you are just watching on youtube. Scary as all heck if it was your house being ripped to shreds.

  • yup

  • ya well it happens. there making new solid cement circular homes for twisters. i think its about time.

  • I hope it works. For me, I live in Northern California, when an Earthquake hits you don't know in advance. That's the only upside to those. :)

  • ya i hear ya. well i live in sd and my brother lives in la and u just have to know what ull do in these situations. & to just not fear. who likes living in fear. u just do ur best & educate urself on quakes.

ive never felt a quake and ive lived in cali for 2 years now. but twisters are way more stressful, they happen all the time, not like cali = nothing. t-storms have so many elements! i just get a rush from watchin these videos. i use to liv in minn. here, all i can wait for is fires lol.

  • This my friends, is called an impersonater.

A nerd trying to act tough.

    I'm sorry for him.

  • r u talking about me?

  • ok what does that have to do with the video?

  • I transcribed a bit of what the National Weather Service weather radio was saying during this tornado. It described it as a "large and extremely dangerous tornado 3 miles west of Elbert," and, "This is an extremely dangerous and life-threatening situation. This storm is capable of producing strong to violent tornadoes. If you are in the path of this tornado, take shelter immediately."

  • that was beautiful!

  • Does Colorado get a lot of tornadoes? It seems like the places that normally get lots of tornadoes are in a drought this year.

  • June is Colorado's peak month for tornadoes. Growing up here, tornadic thunderstorms are something I have many memories of.

  • damn !!

    bye uwe

  • the fuck is this,im going to colorado in a month and ...wow

  • gosh i feel bad for the ppl living in colorado!

  • what city in Colorado????

  • Elbert County is in Kiowa. The county is kinda west of Douglas County (Which is located midway of Denver and Colorado Springs)

  • what do u mean west??? its EAST

  • Well sorry. If I was wrong, you didn't have to snap at me, and I live in CO and I do know some of this stuff.

  • Kiowa's in Elbert county, as is Simla and Elizabeth... El Paso county to the south, Lincoln to the East, Douglas to the west and Arapahoe county to the north. Elbert county's a tornado mini-alley due to the Palmer Divide intensifying storms.

  • Can't wait for the next season of Storm Chasers!

  • i was at home in Colorado when i heard this and WOW!

  • I live in Colorado Springs and kept a close eye on this storm.
