I'm new to drumming and this was no help at all. From what I've seen elsewhere, the core principle of drumming is to lay down a solid groove as a supportive player. Solos are cool, but for a beginners lesson, a total waste of time.

Yes, lets see, you don't have a pacticulair brand you should choose as a beginner drumplayer. What I really recoment is (if you can afford it), a Tama Imperialstar or Sonor Force 1007. Those drumkits have a real good quality for a beginner drumplayer.
