My favorite game of all time. I think I've clocked more hours on this game than any I have ever played in my entire life, besides Melee. I like everything about Brawl (minus the glitches and infinite grabs). The only thing that was lacking to me was online play. Felt very restricting for a game that had so many customizable modes offline.

I agree with KacklinKoopa, why do people like older games more??Just because of the challange? Hardness doesn't make a game, and Melee is my least favorite SSB. I still play that game along with Twilight Princess, and I loged in over 500 hours, have at least 300 KOs with everyone, and with my favorite charecter (Link, HUGE Zelda fan), over 4,000 KOs!!

I personally like the fact that there's no mic to it, sure it has its pros, like actual interaction. However, like you said, its a competitive game. You are there to fight it out, not to chat with others. In shooting games it is a little more acceptable to have mic because it will allow you to talk to your teammates, and if it has the function, it is even better if you can make it so that only your teammates hear you(I haven't played much online shooting games though)....(continues comment)

No clones in this games, this game is not balanced at all, wavedash removal sucks, it doesnt feel the same it got slowed down sooo much(not a little, a LOT), mid air has been here since melee, this is 2-d not 3-d, the online it IS a lag fest. So much ignorance in this video.

also these should have been added, yet we enjoy them using hacks:

and the TRUE FANS are exactly what they are. fans of the series since 64/melee. brawl was made so beginners can beat pros. FACT

@letsride84 the fact that you dont agree i can tell you dont know much about smash bros. yes it looks like a simple casual game, but since 64 and melee there has been secret hidden technical tricks added to make you a better player and keep enjoying the game for years to cum. like what was originally called "smooth landing" is when you hit the shield button right before you land an areal move, the L ag will be -CANCELed (halved) so you can move quicker. brawl took out EVERYTHING for wifi kiddies

I'm surprised he said this given that this game was purposely slowed down. It's incredibly slow compared to complete competitive Melee. And it doesn't excite as much.

However, It's a great party game, fun to play with friends.

I like both melee and brawl. They're both good in their own way.

Melee has quick paced battles and nearly endless possibilities for combos. Brawl has online play, stage builder, more characters, Subspace emmisary, and Co-op for everything.

I'm glad the wave dashing and other advanced techniques from melee were taken out. Not everyone was competitive at this game (or fighting games in general) and constantly losing online to those who are competitive wouldn't be too fun...

That's where you are wrong. I have Melee and Brawl. Melee doesn't have Wi-Fi Connection. Brawl does. Melee doesn't have a story mode, the only thing close to a story mode is the Adventure Mode. Brawl has a story mode. Melee doesn't have a wide variety of characters and stages to choose from, Brawl does. In Melee, you can't make your own stages. You can in Brawl. I'm not saying that Melee is bad, I'm saying that Brawl is better. Melee is good, but not as good as Brawl.

i dont know why people complain about brawl's fighting mechanics to be "slow". i mean, they say that melee is great, and brawl's fighting mechanics are the same as Melee's.

i enjoyed brawl more than melee because i love the new characters. online is only a selling point if you want to play against friends online. matches against random people are extremely laggy, and they dont give you many options to play with, and you will have more fun playing against the computer.

Although it is a sequel, it didn't feel as fluid and packed with secrets as melee, I mean, come on, final destination already unlocked for you? where's the fun in that?!? I feel the overall presentation was lacking in Brawl, the last two ssbros. were lightning fast intros and had the basic theme song, Brawl just threw that out the window and went with the latin durge coupled with slow and boring clips from the subspace emmesary. It didn't make a good first impression like Melee

Brawl feels like a slowed version of Melee.

I love this game, but what really disappointed me was the Online Matches. I thought Nintendo's success on Strikers would reflect to Brawl..but sadly it didn't.

I m hopeful that Nintendo will release another SSB game in the future that has better online features. What I found most frustrating while playing online was how slow the matches were, compared to the local brawls.

So, it was hard to pull of those combos when you have been slowed down. ;(
