ebay has actually become feeBay. a lot of buyers want everything for free. i, as a seller have to buy shipping supplies to mail what i sell. i recycled a priority box once and the fish bitched because i used a recycled box! or when i sold some action figures for like $2.00 and quoted a flat priority rate that when i weighed it, it was costing more so i had to ship it parcel and the ass left a neg on me. this is what i hate about buyers who are assholes too. works both ways the way i see it.
actually a seller ends up paying for shipping once you do the math. grant it, some sellers do charge a ridiculous amount of shipping, the buyer who actually pays this is the stupid one. ok, i just sold an item for $245 +$14 priority shipping w/ confirmation. i was charged a listing fee, a fvf, + now we are charged a fee on the shipping cost! so the actual fee i was charged from ebay was $22.00. then to accept the paypal payment 4 the total of $259 i was charge $10.70 which = $32.70 in fees!
Moron, it does not matter, the seller will sell his item in order to make profit, if the shipping cost is cheap, he/she will just add it to your micrphone cost and say the shipping is free!! get it? If you don't like the price buy it else where dumbass..
@Anthony11598 I total agree with you, 6 of one, a half dozen of another, it all comes out the same. Ive seen .99 cent on an item with 30.00 shipping, and ive seen 31.00 on the same item from another seller with free shipping, so i dont get why people cry over shipping cost. I always combine the two, and if its worth it to me, i bid, if not, i move on.
I have been ripped off with shipping and when I complained they said it was a handling charge added. I again complained and thy said "Well, ebay has fees that almost detoy us sellers and ten paypal eats our profit." I again replied and simply said --- so you rip off the innocent seller? This is nuts, I agree!
@wendykpa i think a handling fee is great. cause i have lost a ton selling stuff on ebay sometimes. and THE SHITTY part i don't have a car. so i had to ride my skate all the way across town with a big box. just to make a few bucks.
if you didn't happen to know. some people work for their money.
The reason why they charge so much for shipping is because ebay doesnt take a commission on that money~ and besides I would complain about the almost 20% that ebay and paypal charged the seller to sell the item..
I think many sellers start an item at .99 cents to take advantage of free listings, even tho they may have paid 5 bucks for it, and what they do is carry over the 4 bucks into the shipping to avoid paying ebay final fees on it in the event someone wins the item for .99 cents. Im with you, onlygood, if you win a Laptop for 5 bucks and the shipping is 30 bucks, you got a laptop for 35 bucks, I always look at the total and decide whether its worth it!
That seller is an A**HOLE!!! Why would you want to cheat on buyers just so you make a huge profit???!!! A couple of bucks is cool probably due to calculator error, but wow some sellers are IGNORANT!!!
Some Buyers just dont get it. Read the "shipping details". Dont bid if you do not agree, this will help weed out the Scam Sellers. Please also comment on the price you paid for the PRODUCT as to level the playing field. Use common sense. A item retails for $25, and you bid and buy it for $5 and pay shipping of $10,,, you still only paid $15. A SAVINGS of $10... "Do the math and quit complaining" Some of these should be titled "SELLERS BEWARE". Do NOT negotiate S/H rates AFTER you win a item!
The prices for shipping are determined by UPS or Canada Post and their quotes are quite expensive. A seller cannot pay the expensive shipping and all the other costs. The flat rate boxes are not cheap and the seller has to buy them from the postal services. Can not understand why sellers do not know the shipping price before posting item and buyers bid without knowing shipping costs?????????????
Have you ever thought about looking at the sellers FEEDBACK SCORE???? I bet that would be an indicator on if the seller knows what there doin or not.... LASTLY if you dont like the pricing for the item being sold dont bid on it.
Insertion Fees (where item sells or not), Final Value Fees, Paypal Fees, Inventory Cost, Warehouse Rent, Insurance, Electricity, DSL, Packing Materials, Gas to drive to post office, Time and Labor cost. These are all cost related to being a serious seller on eBay. Buyer's have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Stop complaining! If buyers do not agree to the sellers Policies, Terms and Conditions, then don't place any bids! It's that simple! And stop complaining about after the fact!
Buyer's take note! If you feel that you can get the same product for less elsewhere, then go elsewhere! If an item retails for $40.00, and the seller sells an item for a SHIPPED price of $25.00, regardless of how low the starting price is and how high the shipping cost is, it's still $25.00 shipped! If buyers don't like saving $15.00, then don't BID! Go pay $40.00 and shut up! Sellers do not force buyers to buy from them. Seller's need to turn a profit too! Cheap buyers please go & pay retail!
I think that gas canister must be leaking, that's why this guy is a bit slow. But it's true what he's saying, sellers do RIP YOU OFF ON SHIPPING. Often I've paid over $20 and it said $3 on the label... screw them, no more eBay for me.
Hey buyers, stop being wussies. Read the listing. If you don't like the terms? Hit the back button and don't bid! But don't cry the blues either. You the buyers control whether you get rippied on s/h, not the sellers. Stop blaming sellers. They should be able to charge what ever they wish. Nobody is holding a gun to the head of the buyer.
Some sellers do this as a "fee avoidance" ebay charges according to sell prices not including shipping so this is a way that some sellers avoid paying too much.
Although I agree that there are ebay sellers who are clearly making there money off of shipping, if the shipping is a bit high, it's ok, you have to take into account that the item is not going to be shipped in a grocery bag, and that the item will be shipped in a box with tape and secure packaging materials. If you dont want to pay for a few buck extra on shipping, go to the store and pay retail. Its that simple.
yeah i know this guy who sold me a item almost the same as this but only charged $7.00 and he was shipping it from russia! i live in canada so that was the best deal iv seen yet on e bay!
Payapl takes 2.9%-an additional .30$ unless rates of changed from you total price
To counter this we slightly raise the shipping to cover these extra prices because after we get that last little bit of money it doesnt cover much of our own expenses
Also shipping may be high because if you notice it says Shipping&Handling
meaning they may include the cost of materials to ship w/e cost there may be.
However he said he won the items and then he would not agree to pay for them because of shipping. The shipping cost is perfectly visible before you buy it. Therefore your not keeping up with your part of the contract saying you will pay all costs the buyer has set forth.
Ebay policy is in place to make them more of a profit and tax the fuck out of sellers, they don't want anyone doing anything that in a way that reduces ebay profit
they only do it because it will be cheaper if they put all the price into that and they save lots on listing fees... And FYI shipping eBay is not going to do shipping fees for low ticket items so that should fix the problem... Search ryandoe11 I promise you will be satisified with any of my items you buy...
If the seller posted the price up front then why did you still buy?
If i see a high shipping rate, I wont buy, I move on to the next guy. Its beyond me why you still purchased the thing if you thought the shipping was high. lol. You beat yourself, shame on you!
good video. 5 stars from a fellow ebayer but the biggest scam on ebay is not the shipping, it is PAYPAL. check my videos out if you want. happy bidding :-)
Yeah, I hear ya man, I am a big ebayer. But really man the seller determines the cost, even though it doesnt cost the seller that much to ship. Remember there are other costs included, like packing material, and gas costs. But really alot of people put high shipping to avoid high ebay seller listing fees, to make it seem like a low price, but in the end its not profit man, because that person had to buy the product, and in the end they are loosing a little but getting rid of their product.
When you sell something on ebay do you Always Have to Print the labels on your computer or Can you go to the Post Office , Help Please?

I have high shipping charges and i dont combine postage but to make up for that i always start auctions at $2
I tell people that i dont combine postage in the auction and im up front about it.
The buyers know what they have to pay to get my items so i dont see the problem and nor does a buyer have any right to.
High postage charges means less ebay fees and untill ebay lower there fees i'm not altering my business ways.
